    Introduction The GeForce range of cards have been well established in the PC market for many years now. GeForce cards are generally considered to be the very best card for a Computer enthusiast to obtain for many reasons. The main reason is performance, the GeForce cards tend to perform better, and are more compatable than any other card, with excellent driver* support from Nvidia.com (they who design the GeForce chipset).     After having this card for a considerable amount of time I've got to say its been one of the best computer upgrades I ever installed. It revolutionised the games I could play (In comparision to a TNT2). My System Spec : AMD T-Bird 1.2Ghz @ 1.32Ghz Creative GeForce 3 64MB DDR Ti 200 512MB DDR 2700 RAM MSI nForce 2 Motherboard.     I just recently acquired one of the above cards for my Athlon 1.2Ghz PC. I have to say, having had the previous generation of these cards installed, that the card is a vast improvement both visually and in terms of raw speed than its predecessor. Games such as Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Max Payne have stunning effects which makes the realism and immersion in the game that much better. DVD playback is similarly improved.     Taking the card out of the box and examining it revealed a well engineered card with surface mount technology that looks very professional. The Graphics Processor has a fan fitted to keep it cool and even after 8 hours the card was only warm. The card installed into my AGP slot with no problems and with the side back on I started up the PC. Windows XP found the card and installed the drivers with no fuss after prompting for the CD that comes with the card. MSI also have an online web site to update the drivers automatically, the software can be found on the CD that comes with the product. You ... more

    As you know if you read my ops, I have a few computers around the house as well as a couple at work. We are forever trying new products to upgrade our machines and get to bring some of the hardware home if its not suitable. This is great for me because I try and bring home the latest and greatest Graphics Cards. Im my Games machine at home, I have this card. I do have a Voodoo PCI in my older machine but this card is great as it uses the much faster and smaller AGP slot technology.     nVidia's latest offering is the reason why they now clearly head the 3d gaming market - this card is awesome. It looks stunning - the core heatsinks and ramsinks a gleaming copper colour. It fits in the computer no problem, although be aware that this card generates a significant amount of heat - make sure it has room to breathe inside your computer. The sheer power allows it to glide through any game with absolutely no problem. 64mb of 5.5ns DDR (double data rate) RAM make sure that this card is not bottlenecked by its memory like some cards are.     when I ordered this card, I realised that I was in for a worthwhile wait seeing my old geforce 256 DDR running smoothly in all resolutions with the odd occassional jutter. Little did I know that I was going to get blown away by the sheer power and delight of this card. Installation was a doddle thanks to nvidia's approach on drivers which seems to be like the 3 muscateers moto "one for all and all for one".     Now virtually a budget graphics card, you can get premium performance at a cheap price. with still only the Geforce 3 Ti500, Certain Geforce 4's and the best Radeon cards outperforming it this card is no slouch. I can give lots of facts about the speed of the card, 3d Mark, frames per second in Quake 3 etc but there are many more dedicated reviews which do that better. However i can say that i've had zero problems with it so far - it worked first time which is always a bonus with a new hardware installation.
