Advantages Advantages look natural, cheaper than a salon

Disadvantages Disadvantages they come off easily, glue doesn't work!

A few weeks ago I went away for the weekend, and before I went, I decided to apply some false nails, as mine were looking a bit ratty. They were all different lengths and I had used fake tan without washing it out from under my nails properly, so they had a disgusting yellow tinge to them. Not good. A few months ago I bought a Rio UV Nail kit, which allows you to apply gel tips to your nails without having to visit a salon. It was one of those stupid impulse buys and it stood in a box in the corner for months not being used. The night before I was due to leave I checked the instructions and ... more

    Advantages Advantages Glamorous, Elegant Hands

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Can weaken Nails

Everybody has got their own opinion's as to whether we ladies should use false nails. The general concensus of opinion is that they are bad for your nails, making them brittle and dry out. I have used false nails for years. As you will know if you've checked out my reviews before there are many false bits too me! My nails have always been a disgrace and are very weak, from suffering eczema as a child. So my opinion is that my nails really couldn't get much worse. I purchased Nailene Lasting finish False Nail's last Saturday from Superdrug priced at £5.99. This is my favourite brand of false ... more

    Advantages Advantages Look Really Pretty

Disadvantages Disadvantages Took Forever To Apply

I don't get the opportunity very often to dress up and look a bit glam so when I do go out I tend to go the whole hog and get simply everything done. This includes adding my own false nails. The reason for this is generally because I have to keep my nails very short, as I work with members of the public as a nurse and try to avoid catching delicate skin by keeping them as short as possible. I have tended in the past to use press on nails as I have always had a phobia about damaging my own nails and due to the fact that extensions can only be worn for a day or two as they are an absolute no no ... more

Advantages Advantages east to apply. easy to remove. glue very strong, stay on for ages!

Disadvantages Disadvantages had to be trimmed down in length but this was very easy to do

I usually pay £30 a month to get nail extentions but realised this is silly money! I saw these in my local boots store, the ones i purchased say "perfect fit. medium lenght, square shape" They claimed to be flexible to fit flat & high arched nails & as mine are high arched ive had issues in the past with nails popping off after a few hours! They were very easy to glue on but far too long even though they are medium lenght, so i cut them down abit & filed them once they were glued on. Easy peasy. They looked fab! Applied them Saturday & they are so comfortable you forget theyre not your real ... more

    Advantages Advantages Lokks natural

Disadvantages Disadvantages wished they'd last longer

Well i'll start by saying that i'm a qualified nail techican so when i need to buy false nails for myself for a quick fix then this is a brand i would choose. The are value for money at around £5-£8 depending on the design. The colours you choose for french polish are pink or peach coloured. My advise is to go for the natural/peach colur as they look the most natural. Try and make sure the nails are clean before applying the nails as you could risk infection (green nails)!. They last around a week is you prepare the nail correctly. These nails are good for painting to with a dark colour they ... more

1 Star Quick review of Nailene Lasting Finish False Nails by binkey 04/06/2007
i bought nailene natural illusions, i got home and put the nails on and after spending $15 new zealand dollars on them i expected good quality and long lasting wear, but the next day 6 of them had split and bent out of shape, this product is the worst i have ever used, total waste of time and money for me. the other nails are all soft and not stong at all, i will NEVER waste my money on nailene false nails again.

Advantages Advantages Look Fantastic, feminine, A quality buy.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Weakens and ruins real nails.

These quick fixing ‘miracle workers’ are perfect for all us hard working ladies. They are on sale at a reasonable price, available in most chemists or stores. A simple, fast application and a perfect, eye-catching end result. However following the first application, the real nails become weaker, brittle and break. Immediate reactions are usually to cover the mess and so they apply a new set of nails. It then becomes a regular part of their weekly routine and until useage is minimised the real nails become thiner and weaker and impossible to grow. Little are we told on packaging about the ... more
