Advantages Advantages So easy to use and versatile!

Disadvantages Disadvantages have had a claw in finger incident!

Here we go again, anoterh clothie related review - but it's just got to be done! The nappi nippa is na t-shaped rubber gripper available in a whole variety of colours (originaly just red, yellow and white - but now blue, green, purple, pink - some even have designs on them e.g. girly flowers!) prices start from around £3.50 for three on ebay - also available from thenappylady, twinkleontheweb, teamlollipop and other sites (may even be available in mothercare!) Anyway, this is an ingenious step forward from the "nappy pin" which although did the job for so many years, was not really a practical ... more

Advantages Advantages No sharp pins, easy and quick to use, hard to loose

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

One of the things that turns people away from cloth nappies is the thought of accidentally pinning the nappy to their baby with the safety pin. Well Nappy Nippa's are the perfect solution for this fear, as there are no sharp bits to accidentally prick baby with. Appearance ----------- Nappy Nippa's are a kind of "T" shape, with the top bar of the "T" a lot longer than the upright bar. It is made from a soft stretchy rubber like plastic, which helps to keep the nappy together better. At the end of each arm is a hard plastic part with little teeth, this is the bit that grips into the nappy's ... more

Advantages Advantages Hard for Baby to undo!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages ?

I've got nappies with velcro, nappies with poppers and nappies with buttons. All of which my very clever 14month old baby can undo. Theres nothing worse than putting her in bed with a nappy on and when returning to the cot finding the nappy at one end and baby at the other end lying in a wet patch! So what can I do I thought? I don't want to use pins as they are mush to scary with a wriggling toddler on your hands. I'd bereported to social services for sticking pins in her too often! Enter the Nappi Nippa! My saviour. It looks exactly as the picture and does exactly what it says on the tin ... more

    Advantages Advantages no sharp bits

Disadvantages Disadvantages I've heard that they can come loose on a very active toddler

When I bought a nappy of ebay, the nice person who sold it to me sent my a nappy nippa to use with it, so i didn't have to use pins, and what a wonderful little thing it is as well. Its a rubbery T shaped gaget with little teeth at all three ends, it doesn't pierce the nappy, it grabs hold of the material the nappy is made of and the tension between all three areas keeps the nappy together. Though it won't work if the nappy is made of some sort of stretchy material. To put it on the nappy, fold or shape the nappy as you would normally, then whilst holding it together with one hand, get one end ... more

Advantages Advantages Easier to master than pins

Disadvantages Disadvantages Wear out eventually, can come loose when child is more mobile

We tried these nippas as everyone raved about them and they seemed easier and simpler than pins. At first they were great, especially using terries with a newborn as the nappy was very bulky and pinning it was a nightmare. It was also good with the kite fold we moved onto as two pins are needed to hold that together. However, after a few months the nippas were very stretched and had to be replaced. By about one year when our child was more mobile we found on several occassions that the nippa had come loose and was therefore loose inside the nappy cover, with the nappy having fallen apart. With ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy and a fab hold

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none so far

I use a nappy nippa with my tots bots fluffes size2 which I use as a birth to potty nappy. The nappy nippa is fantastic fastening device as you are not ristricted by any pre determined sizes it grows with your baby and makes it easy to add extra padding for heavy wetters. So easy to use with a wriggly baby and no danger of spiking them with a pin. They are also very easy to reposition quickly. I have had no issues so far and overall am very happy with my nappy nippas. On a side note they are a fab way of adding a little colour to an otherwise boring plain white nappy! Great product! Cheap ... more

Advantages Advantages grip the nappy with no sharp bits, easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages if you drop them & stand on them they hurt ;o)

Absolutely fantastic invention making the life of a cloth nappy user so much easier. No more worries about pinning the baby, this Y shaped gripper clings on to the fabric of the nappy holding it in place without the need for pins. As a mum of 4, 2 of whom are in nappies still, i needed a fast easy & safe solution to doing up the nappies quickly. I dont have to worry about jabbing any of the children with a pin & i can get on & do other things quickly. So simple even my 7 year old has managed to put one on. put the grip at one side, stretch it over to the other making it look like a T then pull ... more

Advantages Advantages Make nappy fit really well, quick and simple once you've got the hang of them

Disadvantages Disadvantages Baby sitters and grandparents might have problems using them and there is a knack to them!

Nappy Nippas are an ingenious little device consisting of a 3-pronged stretchy elastic bit with plastic "teeth" on the end of each. The idea is, you clip them top left, top right and bottom of the cloth nappy and it holds them in place brilliantly. Some nappies do up with aplix - a stronger version of velcro - but those that need a nippa tend to fit better and little fingers find them more difficult to undo. They are a bit tricky to start off with, but after a few practices they are quick and easy and make nappy changing a synch. Those that don't change the baby very often - babysitters ... more

Advantages Advantages Doesn't weaken the nappy and very secure. No chance of stabbing baby.

Disadvantages Disadvantages It really really hurts if you don't concentrate and get your hand in the way.

We used nappy pins on our terry nappies when we had our daughter about 4 years ago. The trouble with those was that after a while they would bend. We also ended up stabbing ourselves with them a few times. Now we have another baby so we decided that we would give nappi nippas a go. So after spotting some at the baby show last autumn and buying them when our son was born just after Christmas we put them into action. A nappi nippa is a T shaped piece of stretchy plastic. On each end is a piece of hard plastic with teeth. These grip onto the nappy and keep it secure. To say we were dubious about ... more

Advantages Advantages No Pins, No slips, No Problem

Disadvantages Disadvantages My little lady plays with them!

These are the best thing in the world for a cloth nappy user. I started out with cloth nappies, without a clue. I battled with a terry and blunt pins, baby squirming away because I took so long. Then I found nappi nippas... These ingenius little rubber things have small claws that hook into the terry loops (and muslins for newborns), and grip the nappy together. They are "T" shaped and are made of stretchy rubber (red, white or blue), and have little hard plastic claws on each of the ends. You position them in the T position and stretch them to grip the fabric the the sides, and up the front ... more
