Nationwide online reliable and easy

Advantagesreliable , easy to use , well set out site

Disadvantagesnothing

"Nationwide online banking services are pretty impressive . I joined there three months ago and I have found the nationwide website www.nationwide.co.uk a very user friendly , co-ordinated and helpful way of banking on the net. Let me explain that I was very sceptical of banking this way but I have tried it and so far have had no regrets. As a computer novice I found the website easy to follow and it is very simple to register for online banking. It ..." Read review

Nationwide online banking - number 1

AdvantagesGreat web site, easy to setup, easy and quick to transfer money between accounts

DisadvantagesEasy to setup, but slow too

"I have only held a nationwide account for about 7 months now. Initially it took me ages regestering online because there were various things that had to be sent by post etc. The whole setup procedure took about 6 weeks! But once that was over it is all so easy. I have a Flexaccount and an E-savings account. The Flexaccount can be used with holes-in-the-wall at any time. Nationwide do not charge for using other machines by the way. The E-savings ..." The best around

AdvantagesClear, easy to use, time-saving, available anytime, worldwide

DisadvantagesSubject to fluctuations of web access

"...I can honestly say that Nationwide is far and away the best I've ever dealt with. The staff are really friendly and helpful, which I have never really found in other institutions. I would highly recommend the online Nationwide banking facility - I have used two other banks' online banking, and again Nationwide is far superior. It is well-laid-out, clear, easy to use. It is great for checking your balances, recent transactions, transferring money ..." Read review

tHEY REALY ARE FIRST CLASS

AdvantagesALL THE FEATURES OF A BANK, with none of the hassle

Disadvantagesnone that I can see

"We have used Nationwide Building Society as our bank for more than fifteen years. During that time they have constantly improved their service to their members. The on line Banking facility has all the features anyone could want, making the paying of bills and other services very easy. One of the things that I feel is most unusual is that apart from the fact that you can get a mini statement on line any time you can also ask for a full statement ..." Read review

Natinwide Building Society's useful side arm - Internet Banking.

AdvantagesBank from home and move money from savings account to current account and vice versa.

DisadvantagesSlow connection. Delays in answering queries.

"I joined the Nationwide Building Society in order to make use of their Internet Banking site while I was abroad. This has proved very useful, moving money from one account to another, paying bills online and generally being able to keep an eye on my accounts anywhere and at any time. There were drawbacks at the beginning such as not being able to access the site when it was first started, due to "teething" problems. Not being able to access it from ..." Read review

www.nationwide.co.uk

AdvantagesGood customer service, excellent savings rates.

DisadvantagesNone I can think of

"Nationwide's web site allows me to manage my FlexAccount online with the minimum of fuss, and to see easily how my finances are doing. Their Online Banking facility is considerably improved since I first joined them as a member, and is one of the best online current accounts I've seen. Their new "e-savings" savings account, which is tied to your FlexAccount (current account) for transfering money in and out offers a chart-topping 7% interest, ..." Read review

Fisrt class facility

AdvantagesSecure, simple, lots of info at your fingertips

DisadvantagesTakes a few days to set up

"Iíve been a Nationwide member for many years now, and have been subscribing to their online banking since September 1999. I can only say how impressed I am with the on-line service. I have full confidence in its two-tiered security system, and the one mistake they have made (debiting a transaction twice) was swiftly rectified. I can log in and check my accounts in a matter of minutes, and transfer sums between accounts immediately. I can also get ..." Read review

Another customer orientated move from Nationwide!

AdvantagesQuick and extremely handy!

DisadvantagesNot just as 'cool' as the internet banks!

"...have been a customer with Nationwide for over 10 years but I have never been more impressed with their service! The on-line banking section of their web-site is really excellent, especially from an espablished building society. It wasn't launched with all the glitz and glamour of the internet banks, but then it's not an internet bank. I don't know if that's such a bad thing. I like being able to nip into town if I have a query about my flex account, ..." Read review

Very High Interest

Advantageshigh interest rate

Disadvantagesnon

"I have been saving with Nationwide for almost three years now. I find that Nationwide always give a highly competitive saving interest rate. She keeps herself on par with the fast growing technology as well. Recently, she introduce her first on-line banking saving account named e-Savings which gives a generous interest of 7%! Nationwide had other saving accounts on-line as well. You can access to your account anytime anyday. You can easily transfer ..." Read review

Very Poor Service When Trying To Open An Internet Account

AdvantagesGood rate of interest

DisadvantagesReally bad service so far

"...either that Royal Mail or Nationwide have lost my original documents and that Nationwide cannot be bothered to deal with emails sent to them. This is not a good start and I think that if they ever bother to reply to my last email I will probably be telling them not to bother opening an account. Admittedly they pay good interest but I donít think much of their service so far. ..." Read review

High interest headache

AdvantagesHigh interest rate

DisadvantagesFar too complicated

"The Nationwide are currently paying out 7% on their high interest e-savings account, which pays at that rate from just £1. As a long term Internet account Egg customer I was interested to try out this new higher paying account. They do say that Internet Bank loyalty is low, and thatís probably true. Tempted to sign up a couple of weeks ago I did. Please be warned, this service is not easy to use. It is based on two accounts, a Flexaccount which ..." Read review

E-Savings is great

Advantagese-savings

Disadvantagesawkward to set up

"...in the crown of the Nationwide online banking service. It offers a great interest rate of 7% on online savings transferred from your Flex account. A simple and very beneficial service to use. The actual online banking service itslef is a bit awkward to set up. You have to register, requiring you to enter three bits of personal data, of which only one you need to use later on, which seems rather odd. Nationwide then send you a letter with your ..." Appalling Customer Service

Advantagesnone whatsoever

DisadvantagesVery poor communication and very poor clustomer service

"...been unable to pay our Nationwide Credit Cards timeously and have been charged exorbitant interest rates for late payments to our Nationwide Credit Cards when it has not been our fault. The latest fiasco is that owing to fluctuating foreign exchange rates they sent a computer generate letter to my address in the UK,(the content of which had to be sent to me via email, via a relative). It states that they were halving my overdraft owing to going over ..." A great bank with a great website - Nationwide

Advantageshigh interest, accessable overseas

Disadvantageshavent come accross any

"...Natiowide accounts, and communicating with Nationwide (asking questions, reporting problems etc. they're very prompt in replying). The fact that you can do everything but recieve cash is great, as you dont have to phone them up, or even worse have to go to your nearest branch. With the nationwide website , you can do your banking in a few minutes, during lunch hour or in the middle of the night. One great thing also is if you spend time overseas, ..." Read review

good Quality Clean Site

AdvantagesGood banking facilities

DisadvantagesHaving to wait 2 weeks for security details

"Nationwide now the biggest of the remaining mutuals could have been forgiven for not jumping on the internet band wagon but as its turns out the have done quite a splended job. The home page of their site is a bit clustered and my first attempt at finding the banking page took quite a while but from then on site navigation was not a problem. I am particularly impressed with the current account you can access every part of the account you opened on ..." Read review
