    Advantages Advantages Well designed, inexpensive, and with no surplus features

    Disadvantages Disadvantages No line-out on charging cable, probably incompatible with most cases

    I had been looking at getting a car mount for my iPhone 3Gs for a while, but found them clunky looking generic solutions designed to work with a variety of phones and gadgets; not what I was looking for. The recent stampede of turn-by-turn GPS navigation apps has finally resulted in elegant iPhone specific mounts appearing from both Tom Tom and Navigon. Whilst the Tom Tom mount looked good, the £100 price tag was too steep, even considering the built-in enhanced GPS chip and loud-speaker.
