The F20 Leads Me To My Destination

Advantages: easy to use, slim, one of the cheapest about at the moment
Disadvantages: A lot of hidden costs, no AC adapter

...that I go for the Navman F20, one of the cheapest on the market at the moment. In fact at £149 it was Halfords cheapest GPS navigation system. There were a couple of things I was looking for from my Sat Nav system as it had to be able to keep me informed about Speed Cameras and I wanted something that would provide traffic alerts and alternate routes, but I'll get onto all that shortly. The F20 is one of the more sleek designs on the market and ...
...a case of deciding which Navman model to go for. Of course the other models all had more features but at almost double the cost I thought I would be best sticking with this one, especially as it was £50 cheaper than the TomTom equivalent. The Navman met my need for Traffic Cameras; I mean come on who could really deny how handy that feature can be. The locations all come pre installed on the handset, but to get any updates it does cost extra. With ...

...The gadget...... I bought the Navman F20 my first ever Satnav and so I didn't really know what to expect. What I got was a surprise, a lovely slender looking gizmo that has lot's of settings which can be programmed in a matter of seconds by touching the 3.5" TFT screen. Easy to use software and comes with a warning that appears on the screen when switching the unit on, warning of the dangers of using it whilst driving, and asking the driver to program ...

The unit can only be updated by purchasing a connectivity kit £9.99, and this would be general updates only (free). For updating the safety camera locations you would have to pay a further £34.95 for the UK only (12 months subscription charge). To get up to the minute traffic information such as accidents and traffic jams etc, you have to buy Navman T1, ...

Getting the device into the car up and running is really very easy really, simply attach the simple suction cup holder to a suitable place on the windscreen and plug in the cigarette lighter. ...xmas and had received a Navman F20 as a present. I think the sat nav is an amazing piece of kit, and has helped me a lot. (And it gives me somebody to talk to whilst I'm driving long distances : ) ). When I received the present they were on offer for £149.99 at Halfords, but i know they are cheaper at other retailers. NavMan, The World Is Your Oyster!

Disadvantages: Quiet Voice if not paying attention, Few things out of date

Hi, The NavMan F20, Firstly remember this is one of the cheapest SatNav systems available right now. So, what do you get? Ok, you get the little unit itself, lots of instruction books, an in car cigarette charger and a windscreen mount. This leads me to my first issue of debate, You don't get an indoor charger. I ended up buying one off of ebay for it, for this reaon, The little unit lasts for about 3 hours unplugged, which is pretty good by any ...
...sooner or later) The NavMan F20 does what it's supposed to do, excellently. It's not a muddled together, camera, mp3/mp4 player, It's a SatNav! and Navigates extremely well. To search for a location you can search by city, street, area, postcode (8-digits aswell! you can find anywhere!), once you've found you destination by tapping on the bright, crystal clear screen within seconds it's routed you to your "Destination". So now we're navigating. ...

...have very recently bought the navman f20 and at a real bargain it was. Only £113.50 with P&P free of course from amazon. I did a price check from various places from argos to the navman site itself, and the cheapest i could find it was for £130 and that was on a special offer at the time. The first time set-up was very easy with the touch screen and pressing simple yes or no buttons depending upon your answer. You choose what maps you want, ...

Nav Man F20

Advantages: Easy to use, clear touch screen, petrol button
Disadvantages: Occasionally voice directions get confusing

I bought the Navman F20 for my girlfriend for xmas, but have found myself using it more than she does. I find it fun to use. The screen is big and clear, yes the F20 is wider than the TomTom etc, but it is very slim in comparison. The touch screen is easy to use, and the in-screen buttons and options are simple to follow. From first taking it out of the box we had it up and running in under 2 minutes. I bought this product because it was at the ...
...It comes with the unit, an in car cradle and an in car charger, I have heard complaints that it doesn't come with a wall charger or a PC connection cable, but we only use this product in the car, so we do not have a need to charge it in the house. It comes with maps to cover all of the UK and Ireland, so again I can see no need to connect it to the PC. One of the main reasons why I swayed towards the F20 was the little button on the front with a ...

...of others I chose the Navman F20 and would just like to say how pleased I am with it. The navman F20 offers great value for money and offers many of the same features that are found in more expensive models. Also when I found the download for an update on the Navman website my pc didnt allow me to do the download, so I need ...

Navman F20 A great piece of kit for little money

Advantages: As good as Tom Tom
Disadvantages: None

Until l i used the navman f20 i must admit that i always thought the best sat nav was tom tom. But I guess i was wrong. The Navman F20, which is actually the cheaper end of the sat nav market is incredible value for money. It has exactly the same features as Tom Tom but for a lot less money. Navman F20 flies

Advantages: Inexpensive, solid build, excellent driving aid
Disadvantages: Noe so far

I've been wanting a sat nav for a while and must admit I was swayed towards a Tom Tom One as a lot of reviews favoured it, but at around £150 even discounted it was a little above what I wanted to spend. Working at ASDA, with my discount I got my F20 for £112.50 and what a bargain. Very easy to set up, the menus are much like the TTOne, very intuative and if you have ever used a sat nav before you shouldn't need to look at the manual except for ...
...journey etc'. The speech is either male or female and very clear with plenty of volume, the screen is very clear and all icons easy on the eye. On the road, the FREE speed camera warnings work extremely well although they work on a radius rather than laterally so you may get a warning for a camera that you don't actually see and on one occassion where a change of priority at a junction has recently been instagated the F20 tried to send me illegally ...

Gets me there

Advantages: I dont get lost
Disadvantages: It gets upset me with me if Im not listening

This has already been pretty well reviewed here so I will just add a couple of things. Its great that it detects speed cameras, but mine detects the ones that are on the other carraigeway as well, which can be a bit distracting as the cameras watching cars going in the opposite direction are of no interest to me. Also, if I miss a turn it will repeatedly tell me to 'do a U Turn now' even if there is a central reservation complete with railings going ...
...time when a turning is missed it will just recalculate the route, which is great, BUT it then SAVES the recalculated route due to me missing a turning last time, so it needs to be erased if that happens. Aside from that its great, I have the worst sense of direction you can imagine so it makes life much easier. An indoor charger would be an improvement as it takes a while to start up with the car charger if it has been allowed to go totally flat, ...

Navman F20, cheap but useful

Advantages: Great price, small size, auto re-route.
Disadvantages: Iffy post code search, and can take a while to locate sattellites.

...£200 +. Enter the Navman F20. It was cheap to buy (£140), and came with the following; F20 main unit Car charger Windscreen mount Loads of instructions The unit is ready to use straight from the box, but its better to sit and read through the instructions for 10 minutes, Which were clear and easy to follow. All the advertisments state that the F20 has full postcode search, but I can only get a max of 5 digits in. That is not a problem is you ...
...search with a house number. But when searching for anything else, it can be a pain trying to find where you want to go. I overcome this by using mapping software on my pc or a good old fashioned paper map. Be warned that if you choose the `shortest route` option, it may take you down some very dubious roads! Its alway best to confirm the route via a map to make sure its not going to take you down any narrow, long forgotten roads. The car cradles ...
