When Navman introduced V2 they switched from NAVTEQ maps to TeleAtlas, and I know a fair amount of Navman users had objection to this as they found that address searching was less reliable. This has improved over time though and the TeleAtlas maps are getting better and Navman have patched workarounds for some places not listed correctly in the TeleAtlas database. Advantages: Hassle free driving, peace of mind Disadvantages: No touchscreen
Ive had the Navman ICN 659 for three months now, once i got used to the software i found this product to be most useful as it enables you to enjoy hassle free driving and peace of mind as you no longer need to worry about directions. This product is the top of the range offering from Navman. It has UK & 16 Western European street level maps preloaded onto a 2GB hard drive. Screen size is 3.8 inches
Speed camera info can be downloaded on to this ... ...wish to add. It has voice guidance,rerouting & traffic avoidance
The remote control almost makes up for the lack of a touch screen but all in all i think that this product is worth the money. No problems to report so far.

Advantages: Excellent screen displays and good voice instructions. Disadvantages: Distances given in miles and FEET! (Use Km & m instead). No battery.
...previous car I'm finding the Navman iCN650 a steep learning curve. Once it knows where you want to go it's generally fine (I don't find "turn right in 400 feet" helpful ... whatever happened to yards?) but inputting detailed destinations is time-consuming (a qwerty keyboard without touchscreen). Also it only accepts the first 4 bits of postcodes ... and it crashes if the route involves cross-channel ferries or Zeebrugge.
However its got a good memory ... ...you cross a european border. Its also very good finding hotels and petrol stations though not so good at finding stately homes.
Loading the free speed trap warning system was quite beyond me and I'm not convinced it actually updates its maps via the internet either. My wife never agrees with its choice of route. All in all pretty good but perhaps a bit too sophisticated for me. Much better value these days at c £500 than when I bought mine. ...
