Advantages: Currently free on Pay As You Go! Amazing images & features.
Disadvantages: Navigation needs some getting used to.
...LITTLE BACKGROUND ABOUT THE NETWORK
This NEC phone is a so-called 3G (third generation) mobile. It uses an updated SIM, called a USIM (duh!), and expands on the 2G mobiles we've been using since analogue phones were phased out. The most obvious advantage is video calling, but other services - movie clip downloads, A to B maps and so on - are new twists in the world of interactive mobile phones.
The only network to offer 3G technology at the ...

So far, I love this phone! Okay, details. I got the grey/brushed aluminium look phone (known as the Champagne model)- much better than the black one IMHO. Bought mine through a direct mobile phone company, who were quite responsive and threw in a free minidisc player, so all good.
Out the box, it was simple as inserting sim, and I was up and running within 20 minutes. The phone is reasonably large, but feels much like my wallet in ...

Advantages: Cheap contracts, qwerty keyboard
Disadvantages: poor battery life, attrocious signal coverage
Having been a hardened fan of Nokia phones, and a committed Orange customer, the chance of me moving networks was slim – until I received my last phone bill. That was enough to drive anyone on, particularly with the shining option of “3”’s £35 per month any time, any network deal. They were even prepared to give me a second handset on pay-as-you-go for free. What a deal. Slowly though, a few problems became apparent. But first the basics:
Appearance:

You can have mine!
Review of NEC E808 by
Gadgit
Advantages: You probably won't loose it, cheap
Disadvantages: Can't list them all, generally not very good
To be honest, i would not recommend this phone to anyone, it's pretty rubbish. The advantages are that it was very cheap at the time, and for £50 (or free as it was) you can hardly complain. I would, however, expect it to work most of the time.
Spec (What there is of it!):
Screen: Large but with low pixel and colour count
Memory: 64mb
Camera: 2x with 2x zoom, but small poor quality pictures
Battery Life: 3 Days Stndby, 3 Hrs Talk Time
Features: ...

Review of NEC E808 by

Advantages: free to get with pay and go, good functions
Disadvantages: size, camera images blurry
To me the idea of a mobile phone needing a camera has always seemed like a streaker/stripper needing a changing room. It's a bit of a futile gesture. There is more to go wrong with the phone for a start. This coupled with the fact that the images are usually of very low quality. and the only thing you can do with them is send them to others, it's pointless.
Why don't people get digital cameras, which is my first problem with this phone. There are ...

Wow - what a product

Advantages: Memory Size, Video Call, Ease of Use, overall functionality
Disadvantages: quality of pictures taken by camera, relative size
...phone to play. The NEC file transfer software is easy to use and within minutes you can be playing your fav tunes and watching clips found on the net. Resizing pictures for the phone has proved a little tricky but I'm working on that and many pictures have loaded quickly. The menu function is a doddle to use and makes learning how to use the features a synch. Size of the product was a consideration over the e606 - but now I have the e808 I really ...
