Advantages: Super Graphics, Best Customisation Yet!, Canyon Duels Disadvantages: Too Short, Poor Soundtrack, Annoying Format and Voice Overs
...can you say about the Need For Speed series on the Playstation 2 other than it gives by far and away the best racing experience out of all the other racing games. After playing the first, Need for Speed Underground, i have always bought the new installments as soon as they have come out and the games just keep on getting better. Need For Speed Carbon was however, in my opinion a disappointment and i would like to share why this was the case.

This all sounds very familiar to the other games so what is up with it for me to give it a poor score? Firstly and perhaps most importantly for me was the fact that unlike other Need For Speed games the soundtrack included in this one was very poor. Over the years i have found many new and ...

...among you who have played need for speed most wanted will know the story, but for those who haven't here is a quick overview of the ending:
Most wanted ended with you recovering your stolen car from sgt. Cross and bailing out of the city, while sgt. Cross is hot on your tail.
Now, carbon picks up where most wanted finished off. You are making your way to Palmont city when Cross (now a bounty hunter) finally catches up with you and totals your ... ...you, your old friend Darius catches up with you and pays Cross off. Now you have to try and take over turf in Palmont, but it seems you have a history in the town… (I won't ruin the plot for you now, as it would ruin your gaming experience).

Advantages: Quite addictive Disadvantages: Too short, one annoyingly difficult race
Need for speed carbon is a great street racing game. It is not the best of the need for speed collection, however it is very good as the graphics are excellent and the music choice is ok. One thing need for speed carbon does have is autosculpt which is a revolutionary way of sculpting your car in various ways, if you know how to use it as it is very difficult, annoying and frustrating. The overall game is quite good as the police are still chasing ... ...need for speed most wanted. The idea of carbon is to choose a tier of car whether it be muscle, tuner or exotic, and then win races and take over other peoples territory and therefore dominating the map. There are four "bosses", Angie, Kenji, Wolf and Darius. Darius is the leader of the whole map and controls every aspect of races, money and cars. ...has ever been in the Need for Speed series. Everything about the game is so fluid, and smooth, it is sometimes hard to believe that you are playing on a current- gen console!!!
Graphics

Sound
This is where the game is let down. I really think that when the game is first switched on, it really sounds good, but after a few hours of play, it really becomes repetetive. And also, during a race, if you scrape a wall or barrier gently, it sounds like you have just had a head on collision with another car, I just don't understand why!!!
Lifespan
I think that the game is too short in this ...

This is my first review, so any pointers on making my next review better would be very much appreciated, many thanks in advance.
Well were do i start, hmmm lets see, i thinks il start with the graffics because after all its what makes the NFS games the best racing games out there. Iv played the game for PS2, PC and just recently Xbox 360, dont even get me started on the Xbox 360 version because it is phenominal and the online mode is excellent.
The whole point to the story mode in the game is to take over different territory's throughout the City, and as always unlocking new cars and new parts as you go along. I dont really want to say to much about the story of the game because ...

There is also a great choice of car especially if you have the collectors edition, police chases are now more realistic, with the car speed greatly increased and the adition of lots of pursuit breakers and shortcuts. Need for speed is arguably the best racing game series available at the moment and gives you the best racing experience and the ultimate in customization. Carbon almost lives up to the NFS reputation but falls back in a few ways. The games story line is similar to most of the previous games, with it starting with a police chase, you lose your car and have to start the game with a basic one. Palmont City is run by crews of racers all battling for ... ...the boss to a canyon duel. The game was enjoyable but did not give me the same level of playability as NFS most wanted. They were many negative aspects to the game.
But lets start with the positives. Firstly the graphics are stunning and you can clearly see the improvement from NFS underground to carbon. The game is based around the challenging canyon duels which are a brilliant test of your driving skills and the customization for the three groups ...

These days car games have become sort of B class, A class seem to be games like GTA, Final Fanatasy, the EA Sports games, and so on. EA GAMES has upped the ante to bring this B Class game into a A Class warfield. The game starts with your character, whos face you never seem to see, get surrounded by a swarm of "enemy" cars. Different cars arrive and finally this pretty girl shows up, apparently knowing ... ...about the "changes" and how everyone now, "fights for their terrortory", she calm him down and introduces herself to you. Advantages: Its even better than the last game Disadvantages: Nothing i could see
Need For Speed Carbon is still one of the best and exciting race car games on the market.
I have finished the Career mode and I am happy to re-edit my review.
NFS has its good points and also it has the odd bad points i am afraid to say.
The Game
The name of the game is to race for control of city blocks, you race against rival gangs on their turf, and then you have to take on there "crew" leader in a "life or death" race in the Carbon Canyon.
... ...it than the previous NFS, at the beginning of the game it tells you the story of how you got to where you are. This time NFS has added crew members, the "crew members" can be hired by you to help you while you are racing. The "Crew" is available in most racers, they can be used to take out other cars, and find shortcuts.
The details on the cars are a massive improvement on the older NFS, You can actually see reflections.
The sound seems to me to ...

This game is a good game but has hardly any cars you can do.
The autosculpt feature is good as you can modify your bumper size and hoods and other parts. In the game there are different zones controlled by different people. The aim of the game is to control all of the zones and fight off all the opposition.
Racing down the dark streets at night twisting and turning in between traffic this adrenaline filled games has got to be in my top ten list.

...The Breakdown
Gameplay:
Need For Speed is played as a sort of role play racing game, that means you don't simply go for a race then your back at a menu screen to choose another. In this you get to race around the streets to the location of a race where in turn you can win money. This style of gameplay I believe is far superior to any other type of racing game as it feels much less repetitive and doesn't feel like you just done it. There are several ... ...it. Anyway this one you need to change as there are different tiers of cars such as a 106 being a tier one then you have lambo's at tier 3 which do perform a whole load faster in this NFS. This does mean you need to buy new cars and that makes it a bit harder, sadly for me not enough it still is too easy to me the way the cars turn also makes it unrealistic as you can really fly round the corners without slowing down, that is if you choose the right ...
