    What let the Neo Geo down in a big way was it's price. And I'd bet that SNK is kicking itself right now, if it had knew how much the video gaming industry had grown. Nevertheless, the Neo Geo found itself a niche market, with those who had the money, a more 'adult' gamer, and those who simply wanted to keep up with technology. The SNK system was far, far ahead of it's competitors at the time, which were the Super Nes and Sega's Megadrive. However the SNK's price stategy let it down big time.     I think this is about the SNK Neo Geo Pocket? :-) Right, well Ive got one of the pale blue ones - they didnt have cammouflage blue when I went to the shops :-((( They're ace! Well worth buying. The games are a bit thin on the ground though, and unfortunately theyre not going to get any thicker, not in this country atleast anyway. SNK have stopped selling home Neo Geo's outside of Japan now, but they will continue with their Japanese releases (hey, they even stopped making games for the Dreamcast :-( ).     Advertising is an important aspect in today's market of world video-gaming, so is timing. Of course you've got to have a good piece of kit to sell, but without the first two you're more or less guaranteed failure. You see, the Neo Geo PC (pocket colour) was a very powerful little machine that had some great games - if only a few. And it should of beaten the GBC - or at least rivalled it, after all it did have about 10 times the graphics power and memory, but the public refused it, and so the only way to get games for it is through import.     I recieved a NEO GEO POCKET COLOUR for my birthday in March and have been stuck on it since. It has outstanding colour and graphics for a console its size and great sound too. Many of the games are identical to the Mega Drive but considering the size and weight the Neo Geo Pocket Colour comes out above the mega drive any day. I currently own all three game boys, All three Nintendos, a playstation, dreamcast and game gear so I know a good console when I see one.     Ok so no one is really buying them why????? they are the best handheld games consoles about without a doubt. The game metal slug 1st mission and 2nd they arer the best games i ever played on a handheld console. The graphics out class a gameboy colour anyday!!! Come on the graphics on pokemon hello a load of crap kids only brought it cos way pokemon!!!!     SNK have been bought by Azure. They have now pulled out of the US and Europe, to concentrate on Japanese only operations. The Neo Geo Pocket Colour is the best handheld around, with good games, and a good future. This decision by Azure will mean that games will be harder to find, more expensive, and we may have to resort to importing. SNK should reverse the decision, or someone should take over in US and Europe. I would still recommend the system, get one now before it's too late. Great games such as Sonic, Puyo Pop (Dr Robotniks mean bean machine), PacMan, and Metal Slug speak for themselves ... more

    The Neo Geo is ultimately the best handheld console of its time. In my opinion it is miles better then the colour gameboy. It is as light as a feather and has great graphics and quality colour. Not only this but there is a great variety of games. If your looking for hours of enjoyment anywhere in the world then this is the product for you. The only let down is that it does not have a case, but due to its weight if you put it in your pocket you wouldn't know it was there. It even has functions without a game in.     Firstly, it's the Neo Geo pocket, the Neo Geo was a TV console with very expensive games. It seems that the Neo Geo Pocket is heading the same way. The reason? It has been taken off all markets except from Japan after a take over of SNK. This was because there was not enough software support, not bad marketing. Obviously, the Game Boy owns the market, it has a much larger software range with more good games than the Neo Geo, and with Game Boy Advance, it seems that this will continue.     When the Neo-Geo was released last year it was set to overtake Nintendo's Game Boy in the handheld consoles war. Yet despite the claims, it never happened. The games available for this machine are quite limited but if you like casino based games, there is an excellent choice out there. Try 'Mystery Bonus' if you like playing slot machines. 'Dragons Wild' is an excellent game based on poker. 'Cherry Fever' is another slot machine game. The latest one is '21' which is self-explanatory, based on the popular game of pontoon. All of these are excellent and will keep you amused for hours and hours. ... more

    The Neo Geo Pocket is the latest handheld the grace the shops, but is it worth the £60 price tag? My opinion is 'yes', as the graphics are far better than that of any other handheld, both past, and present. Also, games such as 'Sonic', 'King of Fighters', 'Fatal Fury' are of a reasonable quality. Instead of trying to cram a 32bit game into a handheld, they adjust the game accordingly. For example, they simplify the backdrops, redesign the characters, etc. Battery life is good, and the screen is big too. So where does the Neo Geo Pocket fail?
