I am a true coffee addict and have been known to drink up to eighteen mug’s of the caffeine enriched brew per day. And in my time have purchased some dire tasting brands. Some truly insipid brown beverage that I have had to endure in times of ‘fragility in the purse department.’ But things change and I now have more spending power so it’s off to the coffee department at good old Tesco, to purchase a large jar of Nescafe Gold Blend. Why in particular Nescafe Gold? Well it was a sort of indirect recommendation from my local Indian Restaurant; I have eaten there many times and like to end the ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Stigma Of The Old Gold Blend Ad's!

I do like my coffee, I really enjoy a nice cup of the caffeine hit. With running a busy estate agency, my husband employs Gold Blend to keep everyone on their toes, seriously. Well, maybe not BUT Gold Blend really is the coffee of choice in our office, not only for it being a nice, satisfying coffee for the staff but also tastes good enough to impress clients and business colleagues alike. Now, I know Gold Blend will always be associated with Anthony Head & Sharon Maughn and the high profile 1980's and 1990's advertising of the product but is it really only suitable for night time drinking ... more

Having a Baileys & coffee last night (see Baileys op coming VERY soon) I realised I've not yet done an op on my favourite thing in the world (well, nearly) - Nescafe Gold Blend. :o) And it's unfortunate for Marks wallet that my favourite thing in the world is one of the most expensive instant coffee's on the market. And I drink a lot of coffee......... I usually put the cost of the product at the end of the op but the sheer cheek of Nescafe for charging £3.59 for a 200g jar of coffee has forced the pricing details to the top of the op! Standard Nescafe is around £2.69 for 200g and I'm probably ... more

Advantages Advantages Gorgeous aroma and taste

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too much causes palpitations

The fact is without question, I am the UK’s No 1 Nescafe Gold Blend Fan. I started drinking Coffee when I was around 12, after discovering that black and sugarless it had no calories, needless to say, my tender taste-buds couldn’t quite handle this experience and I used to pump it full of sugar and milk, then as I grew upwards and outwards, sweeteners – I religiously used to boil up the milk every evening, spoon in the coffee and away I went. During my teens I managed to lose around 7 stone, with coffee being my crutch as I downed cup after cup of strong Nescafe original with skimmed milk and ... more

Yes yes yes, yet another coffee review, and I hear you saying this guy must be a coffee nut ! Why settle for anything other than gold ? - well think of it this way .... You're eyes flicker open on a golden morning with sunshine breaking through your window slowly waking you up. You get up, stretch and think "damn I need a coffee". You go downstairs put the kettle on and reach for the "cheap" brand coffee and make yourself a mug. You don't drink it all as it tastes cheap but surely the caffeine will do its job. Or would you prefer ... Your eyes flicker open on a golden morning with sunshine ... more

Advantages Advantages Lovely taste. Good substitute for the "real" thing.

Disadvantages Disadvantages It's still an instant, and although good, doesn't hold a candle to freshly made ground coffee.

~ ~ OK. Time to add a few meagre pennies to the old Ciao account, seeing as eight out of my last ten opinions have been in non-paying Categories!! As most of you know, the “mad cabbie” is an ex-alcohol addict, but despite managing to kick the booze over 22 years ago, there are unfortunately still some addictions in my life. Tobacco and caffeine. It’s my addiction to coffee that I’m going to talk about here, but not in any serious tone, as to be totally honest, it’s an addiction that I thoroughly enjoy, and which is hardly likely to destroy my life! ~ ~ My ... more

I am not a big coffee drinker, I tend to prefer a cup of tea to drink but once in a while I do go through a coffee phase. Having just parted with £4.18 for a 200g jar of Nescafe Gold Blend at my local Asda I am thankful that these phases don’t usually last very long. So why you may ask did I part with so much of my hard earned cash on this particular product. Well as I say I’m not a big coffee drinker so hopefully this jar should last me quite a long time. The reason for the choice of Nescafe Gold Blend was simple I have tried most of the cheaper brands out there, and in my opinion there is no ... more

What better excuse is there to sit savouring a steaming cup of coffee than that of writing a review about it. I love coffee, particularly the first cup of the day – and none so much as Nescafe’s Gold Blend. I have tried many different brands of coffee, for many different reasons : to find a cheaper brand, I liked as much, in desperation when Gold Blend wasn’t available, curiosity as to whether or not the supermarket’s own version could compete (it couldn’t), and simply a desire to try a different brand. No such factors were due to dissatisfaction with my Gold Blend, and to be honest, for me ... more

I am most definitely a coffee woman over a tea woman and always start and end the day with a nice cup of coffee. If you are a regular reader of my reviews, you will know that I try and save money on products as much as possible, but coffee is one thing that I don’t tend to scrimp on and my usual brands are either Nescafe or Kenco. Always one to save pennies though, I will very often choose whichever coffee from these brands is on offer at the time as good branded coffee is rather expensive and so I try to save money where possible in this area. Over the years I have tried and tested pretty ... more

Nescafe Gold Blend Having only recently discovered a love for coffee I am having to work my way through all the various brands and types in order to find one that I really enjoy. So far I have not done too bad and I have discovered that you really can't get a lovely tasting very cheap coffee. I have bought several different types from Lidl and none of them were at all to my liking. The cheap instant coffee at work is not something I enjoy either so I quite clearly know what I like. I had yet to try the Nescafe Gold Blend but I saw it in my local Co-operative store on a special offer for £5 for ... more
