Advantages Advantages Something for everyone, snazzy packaging & value for money

Disadvantages Disadvantages You get the odd one you don't like & they can get sickly after a while.

This is my special Christmas review I don't normally eat this many chocolates in a row (honest) but for ciao I will make an exception. THE START OF QUALITY STREET Quality Street have been around forever haven't they? Along with Roses I think they were invented with Adam and Eve, that wasn't leaves covering their modesty it was the green triangle! Produced by Nestle in 1936 they came out in pretty boxes costing around 2 shilling and in the 50's moved on to the tins which I think was the best and will remain the best packaging for Quality Street. Quality Street is exported to over 70 worldwide ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, good selection of sweets to choose from

Disadvantages Disadvantages Orange and Strawberry ones taste horrible

Nestlé Quality Streets are delicious and are sold in a few different sized packages. Quality Streets are a firm favourite of mines because they taste great and there is a good assortment of chocolate in each box or tin. Nestlé Quality Streets were launched in 1936 and are still an extremely popular boxed twist wrap assortment. Packaging Quality Streets can be bought either in the form of a carton, jar or hexagonal shaped tin. You can buy a ~ *275g carton *480g carton *1.2kg hexagonal tin *2.2kg hexagonal tin *900g plastic jar Even although Nestlé Quality Streets are sold in different sized ... more

Advantages Advantages great variety, yummy taste

Disadvantages Disadvantages need some white chocolate!!

You and your family and the majority of the UK will probably buy a big tin of Quality Street or Roses at Christmas, For me its Quality Street all the way!! So I decided to review these gorgeous chocolates that seem to have been around forever! ~The History~ Established back in 1936! When they were first launched a tin cost two shillings (10p). 'Quality Street' were named after a JM Barrie play and the two characters on the tin wre based on two characters from this play. ~Quality Street Facts~ The Nestle Rowntree factory that makes the sweets is based in Halifax, West Yorkshire; Nearly 7 ... more

    Advantages Advantages Excellent choice

Disadvantages Disadvantages Some people may find them a bit too sickly-sweet

Nestle Quality Street is something you can crack open whether it’s Christmas, you’re having a party or you’re just in the mood to spoil yourself. With so many wickedly tempting varieties, it’s a timeless selection that never loses its appeal to me. I am writing this with a newly opened box and generally feeling a bit sorry for myself (the kids have so far been off nursery for two weeks and it’s just starting to get on my nerves a bit). So I thought to myself, rather than just stuff my face and feel worse for it, I would just stuff my face (or share, seeing as how Marc is right next to me!) and ... more

Advantages Advantages Lots of chewy ones

Disadvantages Disadvantages go soft easily, chocolate can be bland

It used to be that every Christmas without fail my family would get at least one box or tin of Quality Street or Roses (the two being virtually inter-changeable to my young mind). Last Christmas they were, however, notably absent. They had been replaced by tins of posh (or seemingly posh) biscuits and expensive looking chocolates from Thornton’s or Marks and Spencer’s. In fact over the past few Christmases I think that the number of boxes of Quality Street/Roses we received has declined. Why is this? I began to wonder. I guess nowadays there is much more choice at the cheaper end of the ... more

    Advantages Advantages It`s Chocolate

Disadvantages Disadvantages They can be sickly

I have never really gone for boxes of chocolates in a big way, mainly because you have no choice as to the contents of the box and have to take the chocolates you find less appealing with those you like. Never the less, when I was given a box of Quality Street by a friend last week I set about them with relish. And I have to say they were a thoroughly enjoyable alternative to my usual form of chocolate consumption, yes there are one or two that I found less enjoyable but they were outweighed by the decent mouth watering selections. As I received these as a gift I was not immediately aware of ... more

Advantages Advantages very nice tasting chocolates

Disadvantages Disadvantages some are very sweet

O my god how much chocolate have I had, first it was mini heroes then celebrations now its nestle quality street, well it had to come sooner or later but don’t get me wrong I am not complaining, I love chocolate. After eating mini heroes and celebrations I had forget how nice these were, you can beat the good old established brands like quality street and roses, when I was a young boy my Nan used to have a big tin of quality street under the Christmas tree every year and they used to last well into February. The product: unlike mini heroes and celebrations, quality street are specially made ... more

Advantages Advantages Quite a few varieties

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Funny aftertaste

Aah, you can tell that it's getting near too Christmas, huge tins of sweets and chocolate are beginning to appear on the shelves. Pretty soon we are going to move away from the real meaning of Christmas, and no, not towards that mass commercialism that many claim but towards the worship of chocolate!. The only ones that are going to be cashing in are the dentists. Therefore a health warning has to go towards those who have to rely on NHS dentists, stay away from the chocolate or risk rotten teeth forever! My mum always had a huge tin of these at Christmas, sitting there on the side table ... more

Advantages Advantages Great flavours and textures, gorgeous chocolate

Disadvantages Disadvantages one of two 'duff' ones

It’s one of those timeless posers isn’t it – like ‘who is your favourite Spice Girl?’ and ‘Are you a Boxers or a Y-Fronts guy?’ – What am I talking about? Boxes of Chocs – Cadbury’s Roses or Quality Street? It sems we all have out favourite centres and these two variations on the wrapped sweets theme are still the UK’s favourites. But which do you prefer? I suppose it comes down to how many of what are in the box, do you like. You might have some favourites in one box, but you are always left with the crappy ones after everyone has had their pick. Well I will nail my colours to the mast and ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages 1 just isn't enough!

Since it was Xmas my dad decided to buy a tin of quality streets and seem as though we were all supposed to be dieting it seemed like a very bad idea. After all as everyone who is on a diet knows once you've tasted something sweet and bad for you,you know you're gonna want it again and again. But since it is Xmas I thought why not just 1 sweet won't hurt. Now 3 weeks after xmas,a new yoga workout and a boxing workout to match I wish i'd just said No.But then again they were rather nice ;) *The chocolates/criminals* Well there is quite a good variety in the tin and definately something that ... more
