The Nestle Rowntree factory that makes the sweets is based in Halifax, West Yorkshire; Nearly 7 million sweets are manufactured here every day!
Quality Street are now available in over 70 countries including Canada where they are very popular.
According to the Rowntrees website, the Purple Hazelnut in caramel chocolate is the most popular!

There are currently 12 varieties of sweets in a tin of Quality Street. They do change the contents of the tin sometimes but the old favourites always remain.
Below is a list of the sweets currently in a tin in my preferred order (favourite at number one) and a description of each.

Advantages: Excellent choice Disadvantages: Some people may find them a bit too sickly-sweet
Nestle Quality Street is something you can crack open whether it’s Christmas, you’re having a party or you’re just in the mood to spoil yourself. With so many wickedly tempting varieties, it’s a timeless selection that never loses its appeal to me.
I am writing this with a newly opened box and generally feeling a bit sorry for myself (the kids have so far been off nursery for two weeks and it’s just starting to get on my nerves a bit).
So I thought ... ...too!
THE PACKAGING
Nestle Quality Street comes in a few different packages. You can buy these delicious sweets in large hexagon tins (hmm… I think it’s hexagon shaped anyway…), in a small carton or a larger sized carton (guess which one I’ve got!!).
Nah, I’ve only got the large carton (gee I say that like it’s nothing…) and it’s vibrant purple packaging stands out a mile next to it’s competitors. With the Nestle Quality Street logo on the front ...

...on their own. Unwrapped Nestle have stamped a little bow on the top of the chocolate for decoration. It smelt of milk chocolate with a hint of orange. Inside the milk chocolate there is a sort of cream/ganache filling with crunchy orange flavoured bits. I found that these were best enjoyed if you let them melt on your tongue. The orange flavour is not as powerful as the Orange Crème, it is much more subtle and compliments the creamier milk chocolate. ... ...discernable smell is that of Nestle chocolate which is basically what this chocolate is except that there is a hazelnut lurking in its depths. I find the best way to enjoy these is to suck the chocolate off first because that way you can enjoy the creamy chocolate taste which is similar in taste to a Yorkie bar. As you suck you slowly reveal the hazelnut and when all the chocolate has gone you then chew the hazelnut, releasing its wonderfully rich ...

...is a doppelganger for the Nestle Rolo. Biting into the chocolate confirms that this is indeed a Rolo in disguise with runny caramel sauce erupting from the milk chocolate shell when any kind of tooth pressure is applied.

●Country Fudge●
I love fudge in any shape or form so I pulled apart the pink cellophane that keeps this chocolate fresh with reckless abandon. Country Fudge is another oval shaped chocolate and is soft to the chew. A delicious sugary taste envelopes the mouth as it disintegrates easily and the hint of creaminess stays on the palette long after the sweet has gone. ●Milk Chocolate ...

...‘COUNTY FUDGE’ is covered in Nestle chocolate too. Magic! Another sweet to suck on and let linger in your mouth until the last flavoursome piece has melted away.
A newish arrival in the Quality Street box is that of the ‘ORANGE CHOCOLATE CRUNCH’. Sorry, but this is a little disappointing. Since it was Xmas my dad decided to buy a tin of quality streets and seem as though we were all supposed to be dieting it seemed like a very bad idea. After all as everyone who is on a diet knows once you've tasted something sweet and bad for you,you know you're gonna want it again and again. But since it is Xmas I thought why not just 1 sweet won't hurt. Now 3 weeks after xmas,a new yoga workout and a boxing workout to match I wish i'd just said No.But ... ...Well there is quite a good variety in the tin and definately something that everyone will love! Here is a list of what you will find within your tin:

Ahh...A new toy, some bits and pieces in my stocking and a Chocolate variety pack. Christmas morning and there is turkey in the air...

Advantages: i suppose if you need chocolate they do the job Disadvantages: just not as good as similar products (namely Roses)
Did you know that Nestle was founded in 1866? I was quite surprised when I found that one out, because you would have thought that after nearly 150 years, they would have finally worked out how to make nice chocolates. It wasn't until the 1980s that they suddenly went around buying up all the great confectionary companies in other contries. Remember how nice Rowntree fruitgums used to be? Well if like me, you suddenly noticed their flavour go down ... ...that Nestle took over.
So you get the idea that I don't like Nestle that much then? Well you would be completley correct, so you won't be surprised when my opinion of Nestle Quality Street isn't particularly nice either.
A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY

I went to visit my Auntie Jackie on Boxing Day and sat waiting for the moment she would say, 'Here's your present, open it then.' So she passed it to me. I was excited, ooh what did she get us, what is it? "Mmmm, Quality Street." My wife said, well yes, thanks for spoiling the suprise.

- The Green One - This is a hazelnut eclair. I'll bit into it first shall I? Very Very chewy and not crunchy at all. A mixture of toffee and nut covered in chocolate. Tastes a bit like that nutella stuff to me.

Advantages: Fantastic value Disadvantages: Moreish, can be easy to over indulge
I love Christmas and am lucky to have friends and family to enjoy it with. A product I always associate with Christmas is Quality Street as it always seems to have been around at this special time of year. Local supermarkets were knocking out a 1.2 kg tin (which is 1.16kg sweets if you exclude the wrappings) at the rate of any 2 for £9.00 just before Christmas. This equates to less than 39p per 100g for a well known and branded chocolate and toffee assortment, which just has to be fantastic value for money if you like this type of product as an ...
