OK, so what is it?
Basically it is a switch that splits one Internet connection between 4 computers. Imagine The router to act like a glass of milk with 4 straws coming out of it. 4 people are sharing the same glass of milk. The same as 4 people are sharing one internet connection ... ...performance is delivered to the switch/modem and then delivers the resulting connection to the 4 computers connected.
This Switch has 4 `10/100` connections on it for connecting to a computer. This is the standard network connection that looks like a phone socket. Of course, you will need a separate network card for each computer which can be purchased for about £10 each. This allows the actual computer to be connected to the switch.

Advantages: STYLISH AND EXTREMELY EASY TO SET UP! Disadvantages: COMES WITH RUBBISH DOWNLOAD SPEEDS!
After having purchased four previous netgear routers i am still impressed with the seemless effort in which netgear have made there configurations. I believe after extensive searches this is a very good price for this bit of kit, some may say i am crazy but i have ADSL and DSL in my home and using two different wireless routers have found no problems yet. ...the service from Netgear but fingers crossed I have never had to use it yet. It's never even crashed!
The only disadvantage was the tiny little LAN cable provided, so you either have your computer near the phone line or nip down pc world for another longer one. ...
