Advantages: Good team on paper, that has been boosted by good signings. Good manager and passionate fans Disadvantages: Bad luck with injuries. Not the team that was challenging United a few years back
...season be any better for Newcastle fans?
Last season Newcastle finished a disappointing mid-table last season in the Premiership. Admittedly they suffered a lot of injury problems, but it was still a let down for the whole team to finish such a disappointing way. That is not to say there is a lack of talent at St. James Park. On his day and free of injury Shearer is one of the best strikers in the UK, if not Europe, Peruvian international Nolberto ... ...I would like to see Newcastle play with a flat back four, three in midfield, two main strikers, and one dropping off the main front two. If I had a full team to choose from this would be my line up if I was boss.

Bellamy likes to roam, and he could be given a free role, where he would do most damage to opponents defence. I’m not sure too much about Robert, so ...

...Laurent has made assists for Newcastle thats because of his passing, skill and crossing. When he has the ball he uses his pace and quick feet. He is very skillfull and has a lot of tricks up his sleeve and because of the pace and quick feet it makes him more skillfull. He brightens up Newcastle and makes chances because of the magic and is a quick thinker. His skill i think is nearly as good as Zidane's and so is his vision and technique.
Attacking ... ...track back players when needed. Newcastle need a defensive left back as Laurent won't defend much, if he did do that then he will have to change his style of play.
Defensive rating on Laurent: 5.5/10
He has linked up well with Bellamy and Shearer and has blended with the team well. He has worked his socks off for Newcastle and is pulling the strings for them, he is 26 and is determined to make his stay at Newcastle long and succesful. He hasn't ...

Advantages: Great Coach, Ground, Supporters, Good Football Disadvantages: Support wavers in bad times, Robson's advanced age
...have taken the reins at Newcastle after Keegan walked, and certainly after Dalglish left. Unfortunately, due to his high moral principles, another rarity in football of any era, Bobby refused to walk out on Barcelona and thereby dishonour his contract, when previously approached by the club.
Robson walked into a minefield after Gullit's nightmare reign ended last season. He found a team completely stripped of morale, by 'Netto' man, and a squad ... ...for a new club, and Newcastle were hauled up to a very respectable 11th place at the end of the season, and taken to an FA Cup Semi-Final, narrowly missing out to Chelsea. Robson has got playing entertaining football again, though thankfully not the foolhardy style of Kevin Keegan, which essentially cost Newcastle the Premiership title in the early Nineties.
Newcastle Utd have a fantastic stadium, and devout support (maybe a little wavering when ...

...desperate to see the latest Newcastle United game. I wasn't alone in this feeling - Newcastle were that entertaining. Their 4-3 defeat against Liverpool lives in my memory as the greatest football match I have witnessed. The repeat scoreline between the two sides a year latest isn't far behind. Newcastle were English football under Kevin Keegan, the whole country jumped on the bandwagon but sadly, they couldn't deliver.
The role of Keegan is Newcastle's ... ...and supporters alike and soon, Newcastle had the world at their feet. Although they didn't actually deliver the league title, the entertainment they provided will never be forgotten.
Players such as Faustino Asprilla, Les Ferdinand, David Ginola and Peter Beardsley were a joy to watch as Keegan's troops to the sumit of the English Premiership. They had some sensational results along the way - a 5-0 victory over Manchester United springs to mind, ...

Advantages: Exciting, attacking football Disadvantages: Can't seem to hang on to players
I'm a Newcastle supporter and lived within spitting distance of St James' park for 3 years during their best spell, finishing second to Man U for 2 years. So it worries me that they always seem to let their good players go without much fight! Alan Shearer is an exception, but he's not getting any younger. They've just let Ferguson go for virtually half what they paid for him, just when he was actually fit to play, and Davids Batty and Ginola seemed ...

A prize asset for the Magpies, I hope that this is the season that Kieron Dyer really comes forward to fulfill the potential he exhibited last season. A summer away from the game has got him into trouble with Robson and the tabloids, but he now needs to be fully focused on the season ahead. He has tremendous pace and good feet, being capable of beating players almost at will at times, and is a 'utiltiy player' - an asset to any manager. But consistency ...

...be the best thing in Newcastle since sliced bread. The players which Newcastle posses are amazing but you have to know how to use them, when ruud was the top man the play was disorganized and sloopy and the players lost faith. Ruud Gullit ruined Newcastle and even Bobby Robson struggled to get them back on the rails but his skill in management shone through in the end. Duncan Ferguson leaving was a good thing for Newcastle as he isn't a real star player unlike the likes of Shearer, Dyer, Dabizas, Cort and loads more - too many to name! The 3-0 win against Man Utd at St. James Park was a real showing of Newcastle's true class and I am expecting big things this season. (I am not a Newcastle supporter, A Swindon Supporter in fact so I have an unbiased view).
In my opinion, Bobby Robson was the best thing that happened to Newcastle, without him, Newcastle could have been fighting relegation which would have been a painful sight to watch. As my mum is originalyl from a town called Darlington in and around the Middlesbrough/Newcastle are I am ...

I am a huge Newcastle united fan so when I got the chance to go to the last home game of the 2003/04 season against Wolves I jumped at the chance. I wasn't bothered about driving nearly 200 miles to watch them as I don't get the chance very often and I had 2 tickets in the Executive box. The tickets included a 3 course meal before the game and free drinks ... ...left in the first half Newcastle took the lead through a Lee Bowyer goal and things were starting to look up. Throughout the first half the Newcastle fans were virtually silent however the Wolves fans were a credit to their side despite the fact that they had been relegated.
Wolves equalised with about 20 minutes left following a spell of heavy pressure. Anyway about 10 minutes later Bobby Robson decided to make a change he opted to bring Hugo Viana ...

Advantages: excellent skill and vision Disadvantages:
It is my opinion that newcastle will finish in the top six this year. The addition of Lomano Tresor Lua-Lua is a fantastic purchase for Bobby Robson and he should be credited for such a buy. If Alan shearer can get back to top form, then we could possibly finish higher than 6th, with my prediction, whilst bias, standing at 4th. It was a local derby, so the effort had to be high, and they didnt disappoint. Players such as Gary Speed and Robert Lee should be given a medal for the work they get through in 90 minutes.I don't particularly rate Daniel Cordone, and obviously the shirt makers don't either calling him 'cArdone', reminding me of a certain small loud italian. an interesting duo, but will it work? shearer can now get back to concentrating on his club football, with the tabloid hacks of his back as he no longer carries the burden for englands failures. cort is, well, he's tall. i don't think he warrants a 7 million price tag, and wimbledon have done good business to get that for him. this duo could be similar to ferguson-shearer, as a shearer liked someone else up there with him putting themselves about. ...
