    Has the Next Directory - usually a "shiny star" in the mail order clothing/furnishing world - become a victim of its own success? A few months ago I would have given nothing but praise for this rapidly expanding mail-order company but having recently received some appalling customer service and been fobbed off with some completely misleading information, I am beginning to wonder if they're beginning to let their usual, excellent standards slip.     I think I have fallen in love for the first time - with the Next Directory. I have had a directory for ages and order the odd thing from it but recently I have ordered more and more. The Next shop where I live in really sparse and although includes mens, women’s and children’s it’s a small shop and it doesn’t contain any of the home bits and bobs that I love. Now Next Directory is not cheap. Its good quality but not everything is cheap like you would expect from a catalogue.     With Ciao deciding to have a day off yesterday it was lucky that my new Next Directory had just been delivered! With hubby out on the town with his mates it was the perfect night to be curled up on the sofa flicking through my new catalogue! >>>What is Next Directory?     Now my next directory is a valuable member of my household infact I do believe I would be lost without it. There are 4 of us in our household myself, my partner and my 2 sons aged 1 and 9.     I was first introduced to the Next Directory about 2 years ago. It was during the Christmas rush and I found myself in a 3-mile queue in my local Next store, laden down with heavy shopping bags, 2 whinging children and a pair of throbbing, ice-cold feet. I vowed then that would be the last time I would leave my Christmas shopping till the last minute and instead do it either online or by mail order.     Next, the High Street retailer is a well-known brand name selling collections of fashionable clothes for women, men, and children since the last 20 years. Within that relatively short time it has gained much success, like the Gap Stores and has over 335 stores in UK, as well as 50 stores worldwide.     I think the NEXT directory is simply the best way to shop from home. I have used it for about two and a half years now and I wouldn't be without it! ~~~The Initial Cost~~~ Unlike other catalogues, you do have to pay for the NEXT Directory, but at just £3.50 I think this is reasonable. Next day delivery is also charged at £3.75, although you could have your order delivered direct to your local store for free. It is possibe to call customer services (0845 6007000) and request no catalogues if you are able to order online from www.next.co.uk. thus saving the charge for these weighty books. ~~~The ... more

    Prepare to be impressed. Its always a mouth-watering moment when the new Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer Next Directory is delivered to my door, but never as much as the Spring/Summer 2003 Directory for Next home shopping has been. I positively dribbled, although not entirely for the range of fashions for Womenswear, Menswear, Childrenswear and Homeware, but for the presentation, even though all the ranges themselves are delectable.     I have had catalogues in the past and they always seem to end up the same, you decide not to buy for a while and they continue to pester you for ages afterwards. So after a while of not having a catalgue I decided to apply for a Next Directory, after all I was mostly shopping at Next anyway so I thought it made sense. Shortly after receiving my directories, I had a letter from them saying that I could take advantage of free next day delivery on my first order valid upto a certain date.     Next stores have been a feature on our high streets for many years now. Aimed at the 30year old+ consumer, with their classic designs, they offer quality and good value for money. The Next Directory has to be one of the nicer looking catalogues out there today. It is hard backed and the quality of the pages is very good, but then again it should be as they charge you £3.00 for the privilege of owning one.
