    I've recently bought a Nicky Clarke Desired Hair Straightener from Boots at half price for £39.99. Original RRP is £80.99. Agros is currently selling a similar Nicky Clarke Desired Straightener in standard size for even cheaper at an extra 20% off. I have the wide plate straightener, which is more suitable for long thick hair, but costs slightly more than the one from Argos.     Advantages Advantages Temperature control, colour, straightening ability.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Temperature dial, plates, limited styling options.

    I bought these straighteners while they were on sale at Boots. I didn't know of the good reviews before I purchased them; the claim on the box that more women preferred them to GHD made my mind up for me. Pros: Unlike GHD, Desired have a temperature gauge making them ideal for those with finer hair. The maximum temperature of 230 degrees was a good temperature for my thick, curly hair. The finish after straightening was exactly the same as GHD; my hair was poker straight and silky and stayed straight even after sleeping on it.
