I bought the straightners from Boots and it said on the price tag £30.00 this included 4 grips to section hair, 2 hair brushes (good quality) and the cereamic straightners. I was impressed as £30 is a good price.
So I toddled to the counter and as she swiped the bar code the price was coming in at £15.00 plus I had a £5.00 voucher that was a left over xmas pressie so I have saved £20 !
I could not wait to go home and heat them up. I knew they were ... ...slim as GHD but they heated up in about 2 minutes. You can adjust the heat settings which is brillant as i have really thick hair and as I used the straightners i found they worked very well. I had to go over the hair a few times as my hair is arkward.
Overall for £30 tops which I only piad £10 (*grin*) I found these worked brillant for the money. They were easy to use but not as easy as GHD's. I have used GHD's at my mates house and they are amazing ...

Advantages: quick to heat, easy to use, fab results Disadvantages: cord could be longer
...looked around and saw these nicky clarke frizz control pair and thought they would be the ones. a) I have very frizzy hair
b) They have a temperature control c) great price
So lets take it one at a time, the ceramic plates smooth and straighten my hair even when I have no frizz ease or other serum on. What I do is brush my hair with one hand and slide the straightners on the same section of hair with the other hand. Might sound complicated but ... ...easy to manuevore.
The temperature control seems to work fine but I have it on 8 and it goes from 1 to 9. I do my fringe on about 4 as its short and you can feel the heat from the straightners when its very close to your skin. The price was amazing as they are every bit as good as a more expensive pair. I have very thick frizzy hair and it only takes about 15 minutes to get through all my hair taking sections of about 1&half inches then I brush ...

Advantages: Heats up almost instantly. Disadvantages: The lead could be longer.
I already had a Nicky Clarke hair straightener, or rather my daughter did and she was pleased with it at the time, she thought it was the be all and end all, but not anymore. It has been supplanted by a much better version and one which I wish I had bought in the first place. The old one was ok, but it took about 10 minutes to heat up and didn’t get as hot as this new one, so it didn’t do as good a job, it was £14 cheaper and I suppose you do get ... ...belong to me now, but I’ve still been using the new one all the time. My hair is very fine and gets frizzy, it certainly is true that it keeps frizz under control, I use a conditioner fairly regularly as well.
This straightener was £34, it might be cheaper at some places like Argos for example, but we went to the Empire Catalogue so we could start paying in about 6 months time and in instalments.
