    Advantages Advantages Straightens hair well.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Handle heats up after a while

I choose these straightners after deciding to invest in a new pair after using one of the wide remington ones. These are easy to use and heat up in no time. Compared to the ones I had prior to these I prefer these because on the straighteners there is a on/off button which helps if I do forget to switch the plug off. The different heat settings means they will work on practically any type of hair. My hair is quite thick and when it was longer I had to keep it on a higher temperature as there was effectively more of it! My hair is now short and still works well, the width of the straightners ... more

Advantages Advantages Good technology and finish for price, adjustable heat control.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slow heat-up to high temperatures.

To start with, I believe the name of the product should be changed to "Nicky Clarke Kinder 4 Hair Straighteners" as this is what the trade name is. I found it difficult to find this. Just to say I'm a male and needed these straighteners to style my extremely curly hair to a straighter style I desired. Without straightening my hair there are only two styles, gelled or messy. Using straighteners and hair wax or glue I can style loads of styles that get me so much more female attention. Across Britain when people talk about hair straighteners one name is always mentioned, "GHD". These are very ... more

Advantages Advantages On/off setting and temperature control

Disadvantages Disadvantages can't be used on wet hair

These were my second pair of straighteners and I love them. They have the benefit of an on/off switch that can save a burnt dresser top! You can also adjust the temperature with five different settings. The plates are really gentle on the hair using touramaline technology. I have very thick curly hair and the straighteners zip over it in no time leaving my hair feeling soft and smooth. Although my hair is short the straighteners are still suitable, although i am thinking of downsizing to a smaller pair to make root straightening easier. My only problem is despite the on/off switch I still ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to use and good value for money

Disadvantages Disadvantages Makes hair go static sometimes

I have never had to use straightners as I'm one of the lucky ones whose hair just falls into place and naturally is stright. However I had it cut to just above my shoulders in September and decided that to keep it in style i would need to straighten it . However, as i wouldnt be doing it religiously everyday i didnt want to fork out for ghds but just get something to do the job that i knew would be reliable. I have always heard good things about Nicky Clarke items and so chose these ones as they were a decent price, go up to a good temperature and are slim and easy to use. I have found them to ... more

Advantages Advantages different heat settings, swivel cord

Disadvantages Disadvantages experienced minor electrical problem

Considering the reasonable price of these hair straighteners I think the performance is adequate. The different heat settings is definately useful if you want to minimise heat damage to your hair, but also as I do have quite fine hair in the past other straighteners have been to harsh and caused damage. The swivel cord is very useful, as I find them much easier to use for styling, and they are also great to creating slight curls. I do feel that they help to make my hair sleeker and adds some shine, however this is more prevelent the first few times of use. I also experienced some connections ... more

    Advantages Advantages frizz control

Disadvantages Disadvantages everyone wants to borrow them

I have quite curly hair. Some would say WAYYYYY to curly hair... And it is not only curly...... its frizzy! unbelieveably so! It upsets me soo much.. and my self esteem. I used to have a pair of hum drum straighteners... and they did ok.. not dead straight but not too frizzy either... slightly bearable. At christmas I got a pair of these Nicky Clarke Straightners... and Oh My God They are awesome!!!!!! I can get my hair exactly how straight i want it and there is NO FRIZZ! I do not even have to straighten my hair as often.. it has a leasting effect... even after washes.. I now do not worry ... more

Advantages Advantages reduces frizz, and it it as easy to curl as to straighten

Disadvantages Disadvantages the handle becomes quite uncomfortable over time

There are many good features to these stylers, most of all the finished result is very good and it takes little effort and time compared to some other stylers on the market. i found that being able to change the temperature was extremely usefull as i have quite thick hair which needs a high temperature to have any effect and my sister, with who i shared the styler has fine hair and a high temperature would frazzle her hair. However there are a few bad points to this styler, if you are using it for a long period of time the handle can heat up quite alot which can be a little uncomfortable and ... more

Advantages Advantages Great price, lovely straight and sleek hair

Disadvantages Disadvantages Outside gets a bit hot

I bought these straigheners a few weeks ago when I saw them on sale at half price in Boots. I paid £19.99 for them. I bought them as a back up pair in case my GHD's ever packed up. I absolutely LOVE these Nicky Clarke ones. They are far better than my GHD's. They seem to get hotter which means my hair gets straighter and in less time too. My hair is very thick and I found that I had to go over each section a couple of times with my GHD's. But with these ones once is enough for each section. I can't believe they were so cheap and have ended up being a better product. The only down side is the ... more

I thought this product straightened the hair realy well and the hair stayed nice and straight lthe next day too. The product was a pain to use it made my hand ache and my thumb tense. the plates leave ridges on the hair but it makes sick curls so fast. I dont think its worth its money and eventually the coating chips off.
