I've been smoking for 26 years - I started when I was 16 and have only really seriously attempted to stop once before when I lasted a grand total of six weeks. Today is day four so I'm in the very, very early stages but feeling pretty positive about things thus far. Nicotinell Fruit Gum Extra Strength.
Well as most of you have now noticed I have given up the evil weed YES! I'm on my 3rd week and sooo happy.
I don't think I could have done it without the nicotine gum though. Let me tell you a little about the gum first: I picked the fruit flavored gum because for some strange reason the mint flavor seems to fade quicker for me. And I tend to associate mint with ciggies as I always had a piece of gum after a ... ...The gum itself comes in chick let form (that is small rectangular pieces of gum, for those who do not know what a chick let is) and they advise when you first give up the weed to eat on average up to 8 pieces a day.
On reading the box and leaflet it says that if you have a ciggie first thing in the morning before food you are better with the extra strength 4mg nicotine level. And also if you smoke in the region of 20 plus a day.

Well I knew from having attended smoking cessation clinics that you should really only use one method but I couldn't deny him his supporting attitude in my bid to give up. I was also off the record told that it would be better to chew a piece of nicotine gum whilst wearing a patch than to smoke a cigarette. So there we have it the combined approach but trying not to overdose on nicotine ... ...cigarettes. The Nicotinell gum comes in four flavours; mint, fruit, liquorice and the latest one is classic medicated flavour. I have tried the first three all of which are very pleasant and come in packets of 24 or 96 pieces except the liquorice which I have only ever found the smaller packets of. It all started for me when I was 12 years old and a few of my friends smoked and offered me a cigarette. Like a fool I obliged and a few months later was smoking everyday. I was recommended using this product and found it easy to buy and easy to use straight away. I like gum to chew and this gum helped me greatly to start giving up smoking. I really wanted to give up smoking when I was younger and the only thing that was available then was nicorette chewing gum; there were two strengths a 2mg and a stronger one of 4mg. It wasn't the greatest taste in the world, but it was certainly helpful to me with regard to my nicotine starvation combined with the determined attitude I had.

...After seeing advertisements, I chose Nicotinell which comes in three flavours - mint, fruit and liquorice. I have used them all, though my favourite would have to be fruit. A pack of 96 pieces costs approximately £17, so its not actually that cost effective. Since the financial benefits are often held up as an incentive to quit smoking, I found that a bit frustrating.
I get through about 20 pieces of gum a day. They are simple to use - you pop it ... ...and I do think that Nicotinell has helped me. It is just as powerful as the nasal spray was.
A disadvantage of Nicotinell is that it leaves a bit of an aftertaste for about 20 minutes or so, causing food and drink to taste bad, and you certainly eat or drink whilst chewing.
I would recommend Nicotinell chewing gum to anyone seriously giving up smoking, but it does take willpower as well.

This product can be found in any local high street store,pharmasist, boots even a normal newsagents.We all know what i am talking about it is nicoten chewing gum which is suposed to help stop the craving but with all hounesty i think it has no effect what so every to help you stop the craving of smoking cigarrettes. I have thought above giving up smoking for a while now and decided to try the chewing gum. As I smoke around 20 per day I needed to use the extra strength packet.
The gum has to be the worst thing I have ever tasted. Not only did I still have a craving after using the gum, it tasted disgusting and put me right off my food!
If you are seriously trying to quit smoking do not use these, it is bad enough trying to quit without having to put something ...

nicotine- extra stregnth dont bother with it they charge an absolute fortune for the pleasure and trust me there aint much of that, it does not work i find after being a smoker for ten years it just makes you want to smoke even.
