IT ISN'T HELL WITH NICOTINELL

Advantages: Nicotine is still delivered into your needy blood stream
Disadvantages: It's not quite the same as a satisfying, long pull on a much needed cigarette, contains loads of E numbers and doesn't taste that nice

...by buying a pack of Nicotinell mint 4mg nicotine chewing gum - Extra Strength. I've been smoking for 26 years - I started when I was 16 and have only really seriously attempted to stop once before when I lasted a grand total of six weeks. Today is day four so I'm in the very, very early stages but feeling pretty positive about things thus far. I'm not sure why but other Nicotine Replacement Therapies (NRT) have never really appealed to me that much ...
...so I half-heartedly bought the Nicotinell mint gum. March 7th - 9.00 p.m. Had my final cigarette and "talked" myself into not enjoying it, concentrating on the financial cost, the cost to my health, the smell of my clothes, the smell of my hair and worse still the smell that lingered constantly on my fingers. March 8th - National No Smoking Day - I woke up and got ready for work. After brushing my teeth, I consumed my first piece of nicotine gum. ...

Give up the evil weed!

Advantages: Health, wealth.
Disadvantages: hiccups

Nicotinell Fruit Gum Extra Strength. Well as most of you have now noticed I have given up the evil weed YES! I'm on my 3rd week and sooo happy. I don't think I could have done it without the nicotine gum though. Let me tell you a little about the gum first: I picked the fruit flavored gum because for some strange reason the mint flavor seems to fade quicker for me. And I tend to associate mint with ciggies as I always had a piece of gum after a ...
...The gum itself comes in chick let form (that is small rectangular pieces of gum, for those who do not know what a chick let is) and they advise when you first give up the weed to eat on average up to 8 pieces a day. On reading the box and leaflet it says that if you have a ciggie first thing in the morning before food you are better with the extra strength 4mg nicotine level. And also if you smoke in the region of 20 plus a day. I was the get up ...

...quit he came back with Nicotinell chewing gum of the 2mg strength. Well I knew from having attended smoking cessation clinics that you should really only use one method but I couldn't deny him his supporting attitude in my bid to give up. I was also off the record told that it would be better to chew a piece of nicotine gum whilst wearing a patch than to smoke a cigarette. So there we have it the combined approach but trying not to overdose on nicotine ...
...cigarettes. The Nicotinell gum comes in four flavours; mint, fruit, liquorice and the latest one is classic medicated flavour. I have tried the first three all of which are very pleasant and come in packets of 24 or 96 pieces except the liquorice which I have only ever found the smaller packets of. The 4g gum is advised for people who have been smoking heavily and those that have previously failed to stop using nicotine replacement therapy. The guidelines ...

Absolute hell with Nicotinell

Advantages: Can help with cravings
Disadvantages: Horrible taste, made me feel sick.

It all started for me when I was 12 years old and a few of my friends smoked and offered me a cigarette. Like a fool I obliged and a few months later was smoking everyday. At first I had to hide it from my parents but innevitably when my mum found out she went crazy but even that didn't stop me, so here I am 10 years on with a 15-20 a day habit. I decided to purchase these a few weeks ago when I was going home from university. Its a horrible long ...
...was picking me up, hates me smoking so I thought it might be a good idea to try and stop as he would have been very happy with me! (He he) So the gum, I got mine from boots in a pack of 24 for about £5 but there are also larger 96 packs for about £12 to £15 depending on where you buy them. The gum I bought was the high strength variety as I have been smoking quite heavily for a number of years and I also did an online dependancy test and scored ...

...had a cigarette thanks to Nicotinell chewing gum. First let me tell you about the gum itself and what it does. Whats in the gum??? You may be thinking, Each piece of gum contains 4mg of nicotine in a resin complex (nicotine polacrilin 20mg). Other ingredients are gum base, calcium carbonate (E170), sorbitol (E420, 0.2g per piece, a source of 0.04g fructose), sodium carbonate, sodium hydrogen carbonate (E500), glycerol (E422), levomenthol, butylated ...
...content: 11.5mg per piece. Nicotinell 4mg gum is a type of nicotine replacement therapy which helps you on your way to stopping smoking. When you chew it the nicotine is slowly released and then absorbed through the lining of the mouth. Just like when you smoke. This just helps to get rid of the unwanted withdrawal effects or cravings as they are called. I drove to asda to see what i could get to help me on my way to becoming smoke free, as i was ...

Nicotinell chewing gum

Advantages: Fresh, something in the mounth. Feels good.
Disadvantages: could do with more flavour lasting longer

I was recommended using this product and found it easy to buy and easy to use straight away. I like gum to chew and this gum helped me greatly to start giving up smoking. Now that I have been using this gum for a week now I also find my breath fresher and my well-being uplifted. I have found also because they are cheaper to buy that I have more money and look forward to a holiday with the money that I hope to save. I think this is a brilliant product. ...

What an awful taste

Advantages: It doe’s work
Disadvantages: Leaves horrible taste in your mouth

I really wanted to give up smoking when I was younger and the only thing that was available then was nicorette chewing gum; there were two strengths a 2mg and a stronger one of 4mg. What you had to do was put one square of nicorette chewing gum in to your mouth when you had the urge to smoke and start chewing it slowly until the urge has stopped. Then place the gum underneath your tongue until you get the urge again, you are only allowed to take ...

...help me. That "something" was Nicotinell Gum. It wasn't the greatest taste in the world, but it was certainly helpful to me with regard to my nicotine starvation combined with the determined attitude I had. I took the gum for just four weeks and decided to "go it alone" and I have not smoked since!!(furthermore,I do not intend to ever return)The cost alone is prohibitive at just over £4 a packet!!! My general health since not smoking has been ...

It helped me to quit

Advantages: A great form of nicotine replacement therapy
Disadvantages: Can work out to be very expensive

...After seeing advertisements, I chose Nicotinell which comes in three flavours - mint, fruit and liquorice. I have used them all, though my favourite would have to be fruit. A pack of 96 pieces costs approximately £17, so its not actually that cost effective. Since the financial benefits are often held up as an incentive to quit smoking, I found that a bit frustrating. I get through about 20 pieces of gum a day. They are simple to use - you pop it ...
...and I do think that Nicotinell has helped me. It is just as powerful as the nasal spray was. A disadvantage of Nicotinell is that it leaves a bit of an aftertaste for about 20 minutes or so, causing food and drink to taste bad, and you certainly eat or drink whilst chewing. I would recommend Nicotinell chewing gum to anyone seriously giving up smoking, but it does take willpower as well. Good luck! ...

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Tastes disgusting

I have thought above giving up smoking for a while now and decided to try the chewing gum. As I smoke around 20 per day I needed to use the extra strength packet. The gum has to be the worst thing I have ever tasted. Not only did I still have a craving after using the gum, it tasted disgusting and put me right off my food! If you are seriously trying to quit smoking do not use these, it is bad enough trying to quit without having to put something ...
