Without a doubt, this is my favourite Julia Donaldson book and quite possibly my favourite bedtime book to read him. As with her other works, the story is written in rhyming fashion. ...The story itself is about night monkey and day monkey who are meant to be awake at opposites times of the 24 hour day. It tells the tale of the monkeys when they get woken up at the wrong time of the day and their lack of understanding in what they see around them, i.e. night monkey isn\'t used to seeing shadows or the bright parrots in the tree, whereas day monkey isn\'t used to seeing the banana (moon) in the sky.
