Having owned a very simple but poor quality Praktica and an even simpler Fuji Finepix A200, I wanted something that was simple to use but had a bit more flexibility to deal with poor light, different focuses, better flash etc than the old Fuji. At the same time, I didn't want to spend an fortune - if I'd wanted to do that I would, without a doubt, go for a digital SLR.
A trip round Dixons, Comet and of course Ciao helped me make up my mind. For ... ...a camera up to 6m pixels, that took SD memory cards, had an optical zoom as well as digital zoom and offered features that help me produce good shots in various conditions. It does take a little time to get used to all the different menus but, for example, it allows you to take a portrait shot focussed on someone on the left hand side of the frame; something which my old fuji does not do. I bought this camera around two years ago. I did lots of research on the internet and at high streets then finally i got this camera for £179.99 at dixons with great customer service. This camera is excellent for any kind of use except for professional photography use. The camera has nice crispy tft screen and the features on this camera seem everlasting because i get to discover new features everytime i use this camera. Everybody in my family uses ... ...is. Its also very good looking as its very small and very cute too. Its also very robust. The battery life in this camera is also very long. There is even no need to read the user guide because once you turn on the camera, you are ready to take pictures straight away without pressing any other buttons. Have owned this camera for two years now and it hasn’t disappointed me.
The camera scores on many fronts, but it’s the macro feature that is the primary highlight. Most
other camera brands at this level don’t have such a feature. But the
macro feature needs some getting used to. Sometimes, it focusses on
what it shouldn’t and vice versa. Otherwise,the macro feature scores.
The best shots are those taken at night
to give that silhouette effect. ... ...to take those pictures, otherwise they will give rise
to double images. The problem is not so much the camera
as it is the batteries. They let you down after you are done with a 100

I got this camera for my birthday (and as my mum got me it from the USA I don't know how much it cost but think it's around £150 in the UK) and had great fun trying it out whilst away. There are lots of different scene modes you can pick and I got some great night time shots and sunsets. The camera is lightweight and easy to carry around and the quality of the pictures is excellent. The zoom is good (3 x optial zoom) and I have taken a variety of ... ...brilliantly. The different modes include: Party / indoor (self explanatory)
Beach / Snow (for very bright conditions)
Sunset (self explanatory)
Dusk / Dawn (self explanatory)

Have owned this now for over a year - it is a fantastic little camera and takes some superb pictures. The software with the camera is also very good and easy to use. However, I do use another photosuite instead for editing and printing. Have found that delay in taking photos can be annoying as subject may moved by then, also flash recharge can be slow. Despite that I have this camera for various photo situations from family shoots, landscapes, events ... ...quality to be excellent. Has numerous preset photo options like landscape, protraits, night etc as well as the classic point and shoot. On top of this it has additional help with picture composition which can be useful at times but I haven't used them a great deal. Has actual zoom which is visible via the view finder and also has optical zoom on the pictures itself. all in all this is a very good, value for money digital camera without having to ...

Bought one of these little beauties about 6 weeks ago, and it just goes everywhere with me! Small, light, easy-to-use.....didnt even look at the handbook for 5 days after i got it, glad i did, found all the extra functions, such as framing guides for specific photo shots etc. Only drawbacks i found, batteries do go fairly quickly (avoid flash if u can) and sometimes the picture will only come out blurry - i expect its all my fault....!
Works well ... ...gives you about 200 hundred photos or 14 minutes video from a 256mb card - seems reasonable!
Anyway, to sum up....if you want an extremely competitively priced, but good quality camera this is one to go for. Easy to use (even my mum didnt need much help!), high quality definition photos. Buy one! ...

This camera handles well in most situations, although the colours can be slightly distorted on long night shots. Excelent as a digital camera but if complete control of the shot is required it is a poor substitute for an slr, but at 1/4 of the price that is to be expected. Shutter times are good although the camera can lag whilst trying to save the image to disk. It has plenty of functions (which initially you think "why do I have that") that turn ...

I purchased my Nikon around two months ago, therefore I believe i know alot about this little unit. The asthetic qualities are superb, they are not fussy just plain and simple. This is the ideal camera for a wide range of people and it doesn't cost the world either. I use it for taking snapshots and photos of things i want to remember for my designs ( such as architecture and furniture ). It is small enough to easily fit into a jacket pocket or small ... ...to refer to later. Onto the actual performance, the video quality is good providing there is a good bright source of light and the flash is just right aswell although it is a bit tedious that whenever you take a photo with the flash on the whole camera has to pause for a little while whilst the batteries re-cooperate. Overall it is a satisfactory unit but great for the price. ...

This little camera is light weight, stylish and easy to use. I bought mine from the airport for £149.99 in Dixons and it was the perfet holiday companion. I would receomend purchasing a bigger memory card though as the one that comes with it doesn't store very much. The card can also be used in the XDA and other palms. Had this camera for a christmas present propbly one of the best things i've ever bought , i really needed a digtial camera becuase i'm a art student at college constanly needing to take photos of my work for portfolio. The thing i think thats amazing about digital camera is that you can enlarge photos up to A1 size which is huge and having free printing at college really benefits my art work
