Advantages Advantages Great build quality and image quality, easy to use and looks good.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Battery icon is misleading, that's all.

First of all I will review the looks, it looks like an SLR and that is mainly because the camera takes four batteries and has a massive 21x optical and wide angle zoom. The grip/handle contains the batteries, it is useful because it would be very uncomfortable holding a thin camera with a massive zoom hanging of the front! The quality of the body is great, it is made from a very durable plastic, it has a lovely feel to it almost like metal. It gets a nice cool feeling to it, not warming up and getting finger prints or marks all over it. It also has a pop up flash, which looks very stylish, the ... more

4 Stars A very good camera, but has problems. Review with images 11/06/2012

Advantages Advantages Cheap, well built, amazing zoom and good pictures.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Terrible in low light, not very manual and focus is average.

Well, my dad has this camera, I just use it a lot. This is my first bridge camera that I've used, and the pictures are generally very high quality, but the downside is everything is very automated, you cannot adjust shutter speed and many other settings unlike what you can do on most Compact SLRs, DSLRs etc. And also the fact this camera is AWFUL in low light. I don't mean in the dark either, if it's not broad daylight or very high lighting, the camera won't work properly. Fortunately it was a good flash system, which adds some effect to the pictures and doesn't quite sort out the low lighting ... more

4 Stars Coolpix that could have been cooler ! Review with images 04/02/2012

Advantages Advantages small, good picture quality, good price

Disadvantages Disadvantages not many manual settings

Been a while since I've written a review so thought I would pop on and review this camera I got for Christmas. It was on offer for £150 but you can still get it for this price now. As far as a camera goes it has a lot of features but certainly not ones that are needed for a bridge camera. All of the features on this camera can and have been included on a lot of compact cameras. Before buying this I thought I wouldn't need much out of a camera but it appears after using this I do. The good points out weigh the bad so I shall list these for you. Good • Small enough to put in a bag and not as ... more

    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Powerful Zoom, 'on the fly adjustments', nifty zoom selector and Panorama Photo ability

Disadvantages Disadvantages No eye viewfinder, colour senstivity poor, no hot shoe for flash, no clip-in to hold batteries

I have been recently experimenting with different digital cameras to replace my Panasonic Lumix ever since it was gifted way. My friend recently had got Nikon Coolpix L120 which incidentally was within my rather modest budget range of sub £150 and I borrowed it for a week to try it out. 1. I would term the Nikon L120 as an 'all-rounder', a term borrowed from my favourite game Cricket where the player is able to excel or atleast reasonably do well on all fronts of the game - batting, bowling and fielding. With L120 also it is the same - it is reasonably able to please the user on nearly all ... more

Advantages Advantages wide, long lenses, AA battery, weighs light, reasonable

Disadvantages Disadvantages not suitable for night time photos

I am totally a camera person who likes to capture sweet memories. I think it is fun to capture cool memories and relive these memories that illuminate life. After all, memories make life beautiful! Whether it is a special occasion or just another day, I like to click pictures and save them for life. That is why I invested in the 14.1-megapixel superzoom Nikon camera. With a distinctive side control lever and 21x optical zoom lens, it cannot get better. Some of the other features that I would like to mention are sensor-shift vibration reduction, 3-inch LCD screen, 720p HD movie recording, not ... more

Advantages Advantages Takes great pictures, very easy to use

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Very simplistic

I bought one of these to replace a Fuji bridge camera because of some positive reviews of the image quality. I remain rather perturbed at the lack of adjustment potential - it is more or less entirely automatic, with adjustment of the ISO setting and exposure compensation the only real options. You can also choose vivid colour, B&W if you like or use one of the scene modes. After the multi adjustments possible on the Fuji and even on my compact, I am a bit disappointed, but also interested to see where the money was spent. First the automatic works very well, it seems to focus and expose very ... more

Advantages Advantages 21x Zoom, 14mpx clear photos, 720p HD VIDEO

Disadvantages Disadvantages Nightshots not nice, zoom in/out noise on video recording

I give this camera a 4 star out of 5. Why? because if you wana take pictures at night, NIKON Coolpix L120 isnt the one you want. But if you want a 14 megapixel camera with 21x optical zoom, this is the one. But there are lots of features this camera has that makes it really competitive in todays market. I will write all those below just after you know about the external look of this camera. It comes in a nice black color and a VERY nice maroon color. I went for the maroon one because it makes it really distinct and cool looking from other cameras. Features (what you really wana know about)= ... more

4 Stars not so cool Review with images 12/02/2012

Advantages Advantages multiple camera settings for different lighting and quality

Disadvantages Disadvantages doesn't take the best quality pictures unless you know everything and anything about lighting

With a so called "better quality" camera you would expect better quality pictures, but instead you may way too much for a camera that takes the same quality pictures a lot cheaper. There are other cheap options that take better quality pictures. Another inefficient feature is that you must take off the lense cap every time you turn on the camera. The lense automatically zooms out when the camera turns on. This camera is also very bulky and inconvenient. I always want to grab my camera and go on the way out of the house and put it in my purse, but this camera adds what feels like another ten ... more

    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages it has very good zoom an dthe picture quality is fenominal also the layout is user friendly

Disadvantages Disadvantages the flash wil only work if it is raised manualy

The Nikon Coolpix L120 is in my view brilliant it has a 14-megapixel camera with two ways to zoom in and out also it is very good if you are really far away it has a 21 optical zoom lens that still has the same picture quality of a close up. The hand grip on the side makes for very easy handling so at full zoom you still have the control you need for a perfect shot. The Nikon stands out as it is great value for money. It may be around £150 but think it well worth the money and if you sell the pictures you will make the money back faster than the it took for the camera its self to come. One of ... more

Advantages Advantages Fairly cheap, good quality pic ouput for novices.

Disadvantages Disadvantages flash doesn't activate automatically

Actually I bought one of these for my daughters Birthday recently, neither me, or her have much of a clue about cameras really we are pure novices, however I would say that she,and me when I have nicked it a few times have been very pleased with the results, I had a Canon d350 which I sold recently and had never been overly impressed with the results, I had also paid much more for it when I did purchase it a good few years back, so I feel for the money this was quite a good buy, for fairly novice users, all quite straight forward to use, only thing i don't like is that the flash doesn't pop up ... more
