Zoom-Nikkor lens. It?s slim, versatile swivel design offers a wide range of shooting angles for greater creative freedom and its large, bright 2.5-inch LCD display makes it a pleasure to review shots. This camera also features the Nikon exclusive D-Lighting, Face-priority AF and Red-Eye Fix picture-enhancing technologies. 1. This camera has a swiveling body that allows the lens and LCD section to move independently. It enables shooting picture from much more imaginative angles, like from the waist or overhead and allows better composition for self-portraits. 2. The S4 features a 10x Zoom-Nikkor lens that delivers a 38-380mm zoom range (35mm equivalent) that gives the user the freedom to capture everything from extreme close-ups to architecture and landscapes. 3. A large, bright 2.5-inch LCD that makes it easy to compose pictures and simple to play back the results on the spot. 4. The D-Lighting function enables the user to rescue shots taken with insufficient flash or excessive backlight. The user simply has to select the image in question and D-Lighting automatically creates a copy, but with enhanced detail and lighting wherever necessary. 5. In Portrait Mode, the COOLPIX S4 offers the handy Face-priority AF function, which has the clever ability to detect the presence of a human face in the shot. Once detected, Face-priority achieves sharp focus on the face automatically, producing pleasing portraits no matter where the subject was positioned in the shot.
Advantages: SUPER ZOOOOOOOM! Disadvantages: No viewfinder
I have owned this camera for about 4 months, not long but I have had a pretty good play around with it, have used it at a wedding, hen party, several nights out, in-house photography, ebay listings and oudoor pursuits. I am more than happy with this camera and would recommend it to anyone. I did a lot of research and this one appeared to be best for my needs. The most important aspect for me was to have a compact camera with at least 6 mega-pixals ... ...want from a camera, this is the camera for you.
The Optical Zoom is 10x this far surpasses any other compact camera in the current market, it is fantastic and I can't wait to use it at a concert I will soon be attending! Even when you are zoomed it to the highest amount the picture quality is still perfect. I find that 6 megapixals is more than sufficient for most people's needs. On a 14inch laptop screen the photo quality when enlarged to cover ...

Advantages: Superb 10X optical zoom lens Disadvantages: Flimsy barn door lens cover
I have had the Nikon for about a year, after reviewing about 6 camera`s the Nikon with it`s superb swivel lens stood out because of the 10X optical lens. The Nikon can be used by novices on the automatic setting but as got a good selection of scene programmes for most photographers.
I have used the camera in many different ways eg. Holidays, kids birthday parties, ebay listings, at concerts and general pictures of our grandchild( not the easiest ... ...problem on holiday when nobody about.
With 4 flash settings it copes with red eye, dark places and super flash helps if the subject is a ittle to far away.
The arrow button toggles between taking pictures and looking at your pictures already taken.
There is a dustbin button to delete 1 picture at a time, but in the menu there is a setting to format the memory card.
For photographers who like their landscapes there is a scene programme called ...

Advantages: Excelent Zoom Great quality pics Disadvantages: Screen to large, not very good in low light
Well I have had this camera 6 months and I think it is great very near SLR quality and range of functions and compact enough to take eith you every where, Which is what I do. The zoom is the main feature and here is where it leaves almost all cameras of a similar size behind even at full zoom it takes crisp clear photos. The disadvantages are the size of the screen yes it is huge but that leaves nowhere to put your fingers when trying to hold it. ...
