Advantages: Loads of options, quick, easy, light, sleek. Disadvantages: Battery life, no viewfinder.
...because I already have a Nikon D50 (Digital SLR) and so trust Nikon already but I needed something to keep in my pocket all the time. Plus you don't look so much like a tourist in busy areas!
Basic things that I found really useful:
- Easy to turn on.
- Rechargable Lithium battery.
- Loads of different modes to choose from.
- Panoramic Assist
- 16 shot continuous.
- Easy to see screen
- Great feel in your hands
- Has SD memory card, widely ... ...your pocket!
As it's Nikon you know you can trust it too. They are really good with their products and the support is good too.
The instruction manual is good, I flicked through it but to be honest you don't even need it the settings are that simple. It's great.
CONS
I was greatly disappointed with the battery life. Probably because I'm used to the SLR having a great battery.

It was love at first sight with the slim and stylish wave-surface body and the mirror-like surfaces at the sides of the camera, great for emergency touch ups as a girl. It's easy to carry in a handbag. The big LCD screen makes photos easy to view. The response time from the camera is quick so no unnecessary waiting time. ...very fragile and tacky. overall a very poor camera and a waste of money, had to send it back to nikon after about 2 weeks when the lens completely packed up refusing to take any photos whatsoever. there are far better cameras for the price nikon are asking for this. ...
