Advantages Advantages Has a good kit lens, fast focusing, good picture quality, loads of features and more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Grip is too small, body is made of plastic

If you're reading this, you're probably looking to buy a D5100, or you're choosing between this, the D3200 and the Canon 600D. I would just like to say that I absolutely love this camera, it has a 16 megapixel sensor, which isn't as much as what Canon have, but megapixels don't really matter that much, unless you're cropping or making big prints. It focuses extremely fast with the kit lens and takes high quality files, nearly up to the standard of the much more expensive D7000, but that's no surprise, because it uses the same sensor. The ISO can be adjusted from 100-25,000 and the noise ... more

Advantages Advantages excellent shooting design, flawless photo quality, reasonable

Disadvantages Disadvantages Absence of image stabilization and in built focus motor

If you are looking for excellent photo quality and practical features, Nikon D5100 fits the bill perfectly. I bought it a couple of months ago. I haven’t had any issues so far. It is one of the best cameras in my opinion. It is also an affordable device. I didn’t have to spend a fortune on it. Nikon has again lived up to its reputation and the expectations of consumers. A promising device, Nikon D5100 offers flawless photo quality, not to mention excellent shooting design for both video and photo. It scores in all respects – quality, features, design, performance, etc. The camera is well ... more

Advantages Advantages 16.2 mp censor, 3.0" LCD monitor, HD movie, 17 shooting modes, In-camera retouching

Disadvantages Disadvantages Might be a little difficult to get to know.

I think it´s not too much to say that this is a phenomenal camera. It´s price is around 700-800 euros - definitely a good buy for that amount of money. When first handling the DSLR you are impressed bu it´s "outer qualities" - Side-articulated LCD screen, 921k dot LCD screen. But you will not be disappointed actually using the camera either. With it´s 16.2 megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor you are able to take professional quality photos. The colours are brilliant, I have to say. It is smaller than it´s "ancestor" D5000. Using D5100 offers you a glimpse to the real world of photography where art ... more

Advantages Advantages 1080p HD Video Recorder, Affordability, 3.0" LCD Monitor

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Size and Maneuverability

Nikon once again manages to impress with the new Nikon D5100, a camera that shows promise through affordability and outstanding quality. A 1080p movie shooter provides an excellent opportunity for users to explore the stunning visual effects that the D5100 is sure to capture. But technology isn't all that goes into the Nikon D5100, a sleek and elegant design brings out the true uniqueness that is found in the D5100. From the casual photographer to the professional at work, this is a camera that can handle even the most complex of tasks, while still remaining a user-friendly piece of equipment ... more
