Advantages: Build, reliability, image quality, functions, the name & value for money especially second hand Disadvantages: to heavy for some, slightly noisy focusing, lenses and flash units expensive
I owned a Nikon F301 in my teens and that camera was brilliant! I then caught the Auto focus bug and purchased a Canon EOS 100 which took brilliant pictures nearly as good as the Nikon and the auto focus was ultra fast and you could hardly hear it focusing, the Nikon is not as quiet but not to noisy.
Anyway i like the sound of the motordrive being loud.
The thing that really bugged me about the Canon was that it was TOO lightweight! It felt like ... ...I dropped it that would be the end of it!
So after a couple years I was tempted back to a good solid Nikon.
At the time the F90x was recieving rave reviews in the press and that was good enough for me.
On getting it out the box the first thing I noticed is the weight of the thing! Which to me is a good thing..it feels as expensive as it was..if you know what I mean.
Put the five AA batteries in and a Lens on the front and this thing is well heavy..but ...

...have owned and used a Nikon F90-X for over 3 years, and have found it faultless and very solid. A bit on the heavy side perhaps, but the pro grip (vertical shooting) and the very accurate matrix metering system more than make up for this. As always with Nikon, the lenses are impeccable (if expensive). Also like all other 'pro' Nikon cameras, they really hold they're value on the seconhand market. Now digital photography is evolving so rapidly, I ...

Advantages: Reliable, durable, cost effective and overall a brilliant quality camera Disadvantages: A touch on the noisy side maybe
I shoot black and white most of the time, with colour film only coming out for wildlife shoots, and i have to say that the f90x really hits the spot when it comes to black and white art photography. The metering system really gets it right everytime, my prints are always as i imagined them in the viewfinder and this is extremely valiuable. For wildlife work the speed of the camera really shines through, coupled with the advanced tracking autofocus, ...

...uses either autofocus or manual Nikon lenses. It produces top quality photographs and is a pleasure to own. The camera is easy to use and I personally do not use it to its full potential. It is easier to use it for taking photographs with the same settings in wedding photography. It is not worth experimenting with wedding photography!
Overall i am very impressed with this camera. It is quite pricey but is well worth the money in my view. ...

Advantages: Very adaptable - easy to use Disadvantages: Weight
This camera has all the functions anyone could want. It's totally automatic, semi-automatic and manual with great variations. The ease of use is a great selling point. The various options will keep the photographer happy for hours. Shoot a single frame, or 2 per second or 4+ per second. Take between 30 seconds and 8000th of a second! Do it on auto ot manual. The various option for lenses gives the camera great flexibility. This is a great camera ... ...makes the amateur feel as if he is able to take better pic's and inspires you to do better all the time. Although a little heavy, this also adds to the sense that you are holding a camera of substance. As you can see, I can only boast about this gem of a camera because I love the feel of it, its ability and the sense you are holding a piece of expensice hardware! ...
