Advantages Advantages FAST, always on, still able to make phone calls

Disadvantages Disadvantages Costly, or is it!

I first started using Nildram in November 2000 and have had very little disappointment with them. There have probably been only 7 days in all that time when I have not been able to connect whenever I have wanted to. Their technical support is very friendly, very helpful and very efficient. You can get long wait times on the phone for them sometime, but this is very rare. It is costly though - firstly the install fee and then the monthly fee, but all the time the company was paying this was not really that much of an issue. The problem is I have changed jobs and I need to pay the cost myself ... more

    Advantages Advantages Usually stable connection

Disadvantages Disadvantages poor upgrade capability, quite expensive, customer care very poor

Nildram are offering a new 16Mbps service that required changing me over to an LLU at Forest Hill Exchange. The sales staff told me that this was in place and just waiting for lines to be changed-over. I received a date for this to happen and awaited eagerly. Yesterday this was due and in the afternoon my connections went dead for about 30mins, so expected a huge speed increase as Nildram had tested my lines and they can support upto 18.5 Mbps. My BTSpeed Test reported the same 2MBps - again the BT line was set at a lower line speed and the servers were not changed-over even though I was being ... more

Advantages Advantages Can spend the time on your computer actually using the internet rather than waiting for it.

Disadvantages Disadvantages The price may appear quite high, but on reflection is value for money.

**UPDATE price almost halved to 22.99/month! ** After years of using my 56k modem to dial up to the internet, I was tired of spending hours downloading software, only to have the connection dropped just before the download had finished. I had been aware of ADSL from before it's launch, but the £170 installtion cost and £40 a month seemed too much to pay. Also I had heard a lot of stories about how poor the BT openworld service was, with poeple sometimes being unable to cennect at all for weeks at a time. So as ADSL prices began to drop earlier this year, I started to look around for ... more

Advantages Advantages not badly priced, fast when it works

Disadvantages Disadvantages they cant work out why my ADSL connection has problems

I started my ADSL connecton with Nildram in October last year on the dslsurf500 package priced at £22.99 a month and with a £50 activiation fee. I was attracted to this ISP and package because I did not want some of the extras available on other packages like a sub-domain, SMTP or my own IP addresses as dynamic was fine with me. I do not use the webmail and emaikl facilities provided by them so I did not want to pay for additional storage when I would not be using it in the basic package. I chose this ISP becuase of the price and because there was only a 1 month minimum contract and the costs ... more

Advantages Advantages Fast Fast Fast Fast and did I say fast

Disadvantages Disadvantages none as yet :o)

As some of you may know - I used to be with BTOPENWORLD ADSL. Alas, I was fed-up with their shoddiness that surrounded the fact they do/do not support "gaming" so I decided to get my account of ADSL supplied from else where. After looking at various suppliers websites - I decided to migrate to Nildram basically because they offered the following options on their HOME 500 Accounts. 1) Static IP address - Very handy for setting up game servers or for other useage such as a VPN from home-work and vice-versa. 2) User webstats - detailed information on transfers etc 3) Better pings to Gaming ... more

Advantages Advantages Fast! 500 free minutes...!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None so far

After being stuck for years with BT Broadband I finally decided to move on and look for a better service at a comparable price (and hopefully with a better customer service!). After being with Nildram for about two months now I can only say Nildram is lovely: They delivered everything orderd online on time and even the ADSL was actually activated a day earlier than they said. The speeds are reasonably fast (and a lot faster than BT!), while the Nildram website giving you details about usage etc is informative and easy to understand. And... on top of all that Nildram also throws in 500 call ... more

Advantages Advantages None at the moment

Disadvantages Disadvantages Very poor customer service-do they want customers?

All Change at Nildram...For The Worse. Nildram used to offer excellent product and service. $ months ago I had a problem and it was not resolved in the efficient way it had been.On the 14th May broadband went down and is (28thMay)only just back. Impossible to get good technical support as they now use a first line second line third line system.Customer care does not exist and you are often put back on the waiting line if they do not like your question! It appears Nildram went to Pipex and then Tiscali. Not recommended-quite the reverse. Oh by the way if you move be prepared to wait the max of ... more

Advantages Advantages Apparent 24hr support, some Voice included.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor cost/support balance, no return calls, long hold times, 0870 support lines.

Left Pipex for Nildram because of poor service, and then Pipex bought Nildram! *doh* For the first few years Nildram actually cared and the connection was consistent, but since the roll-out of LLU the support has declined. I have been without a broadband connection for over 5 weeks since moving to LLU. Issues persist and response from the helpdesk is increasingly poor. After complaining, I finally received a return phone call; now it's all gone quiet again... no response to "MyQuestion" for over six days - is that good service? The LLU support team do NOT offer a 24hr service, which is what I ... more

Advantages Advantages Always accurate with billing

Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor Speed, poor customer service, poor technical knowledge

I don't know where to begin with Nildram It is constantly surprising me and sinking to the worst levels they can get to I think that i should start on the internet speed. I have a 2 Mbps line and i get an average of 75kbps! I have phoned the INDIAN call centres which i cannot understand and they do not help, about five times and they say that it is not there problem and that it is a fault at our end and it will cost us £50 per hour to get them to come and have a look. But, it gets worst because being a business i have an IT company that sorts all my networks and they are 100% sure thre is no ... more

Advantages Advantages Reliable fast access, with good support.

Disadvantages Disadvantages None that I've found

I decided to stop trying for the cheepest thing I could find after frustrating experiences with various dial-up Isp's. I bought an internal modem, (Solwise) fitted it myself without too musch trouble, in my what is still a windows 95 system, and checked out the prices and connection details with several broadband suppliers. My shortlist included Nildram at £22 a month. I emailed each of the shortlisted ISP's, for further details, and I'll tell you why I chose Nildram- They replied promptly by email, in fact to several I sent with different questions ,and they were extremely helpful. This was ... more
