Advantages Advantages lots of games for all kinds if tastes, can go online, takes good pictures, more software accesible

Disadvantages Disadvantages internet is hard to set up, many games are cheap and not much fun, white version gets dirty quick

Not what I thought it would be Today I will tell you about my Nintendo DSi that I bought two years ago. I think I now have enough long time experience to tell you all about it! Shopper's appeal Before I bought my Nintendo DSi, lots of my friends already had one. I always looked at it with a little envy. It looks so cute, like a little laptop, and everyone seemed to enjoy playing with it so much. I've had a Gameboy Colour for years and still bought games for it on flea markets, but as there are no new games for it anymore, I was longing for something portable to play games on again. But the DS ... more

4 Stars The new Nintendo Ds: Dsi Review with images 18/01/2010
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Easy in use, 2 camera's bigger screens

Disadvantages Disadvantages lesser battery life, more expensive then Ds lite

Nintendo DSI Since 2009 the third DS game console from Nintendo is for sale, named the Nintendo Dsi. The Nintendo Dsi is the follow up from the Nintendo Dsi lite and looks a lot alike, but there are differences. One of those differences is the higher price and that makes many people wonder is it really worth buying this new more expensive Ds? The brand Nintendo In the year 1889 Fusajiro Yamauchi started the company Nintendo in Japan and started making card games and focused on making toys. Almost a hundred year later the company changed their focus from toys to making videogames and introduced ... more

Advantages Advantages Bigger screens, new menu display, ACC music playback, cameras, Lighter, new mat finish

Disadvantages Disadvantages Lack of GBA slot, VGA cameras, doesnt play MP3s, price

The 3rd generation of nintendo’s duel screen handheld console brings us the DSi. Evolving from its other models Nintendo decided to add a few new features that make this device more of an entertainment system rather than a games console. Design Although slightly bigger than the DS lite the DSi is 12% thinner, over than that there’s not too much difference between the design of the two. That being said, the shiny fingerprint loving glossy finish that the DS lite supported has been replaced with a smooth mat finish which attracts no fingerprints what so ever. Of course the most noticeable new ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great game play

Disadvantages Disadvantages the matt finish shows up dirt and some of the extra features aren't any good

An uprgrade that isn't as good as the one before I was devastated when my beloved Nintendo DS lite smashed and as I used it so often I knew I had to have a new one. I decided to upgrade to the Dsi instead of buying another lite as I thought there was no point in buying an older version when they already had a newer one on the market and didn’t want to end up with one that was obsolete. When the Dsi arrived from Amazon I was really excited to see what it would look like and I have to say I was a little disappointed. My ds lite was green and made from glossy plastic and was absolutely gorgeous ... more

Advantages Advantages Takes pictures and playsback sounds.

Disadvantages Disadvantages They are the only differences between the new and the old.

This is the third year on the trot that my daughter has requested a new Nintendo DS light, the first time as a novelty item and the fact that they could be bought in pink. The second year due to the fact she has knackered the screen or at least the sensitivity of it and the third year due to the fact that you can know take pictures! This time I refused to buy her it myself, making her save her birthday money to buy the unit, unfortunately she is seemingly very spoilt and had enough money to buy this and two games, so much for teaching her the value of money! The product I will now review is ... more

Advantages Advantages Theres more to do than just play games. Bigger screen, camera, voice recording, new colours

Disadvantages Disadvantages Doesnt fit the DS case, new charger, can't play the old gameboy games on this one.

Before purchasing the Dsi, I didn't think there would be much difference therefore thought it was pointless to spend loads on buying it just because it had a camera! Price; .... When the new DSi came out, i thought it was a ridiculous price! There was no way I would have bought it at that price. But last week, we bought the package deal of the DSi, it was something like £70 for the DSi with 3 games! What we did..... we traded in my sisters older DS in green with a few Wii games AND the 3 free games you got with the DSi package as they were all pokemon and none of us were interested in them. So ... more

Advantages Advantages Nice sleek design, 2 cameras.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None.

Advantages: Nice sleek design, cameras. Disadvantages: None. I just wish the title was aimed at me and not a console :o(!! My two eldest sons have had their DSi consoles for a while and they are well used and they love them. My youngest is having one for Christmas as am I! Oh what a big kid I am! As we already have the DS consoles in both the fat version and the the newer one which the kids used all the time so when they asked for the DSi I didn't mind buying them as I knew they would also get the use. If you are already familiar with the DS then the DSi can only be described as a sleeker ... more

Advantages Advantages Built in internet, downloadable games, image and sound editing, plays DS games

Disadvantages Disadvantages Region locked, no GBA slot, low mega-pixel cameras

The DSi is the new version of the DS from Nintendo, hailed by themselves as being in essence the 'DS 2'. So what exactly makes it different from the DS Lite, and is it really worth upgrading? I was able to get my hands on one today and give it a test run. Features The DSi does everything the DS Lite does and more. I'll list the features here then go into more detail below. * Plays all DS games * Includes an SD memory card slot * Two 0.3 Megapixel cameras * Image and sound editing software built-in * Built-in Internet access * Built-in memory * Reworking of the buttons, larger screen, better ... more

Advantages Advantages Plays Nintendo DS games, looks nice, has a lot of extra features, easy to use.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Sound only plays AAC, getting online is hard.

I am a big fan of Nintendo and I like their games consoles. Having owned a Nintendo DS which is bulky, I decided it was time for an upgrade! It arrives! So, my Nintendo DSi is delivered to my house. I open the package and I see a very neat box. Yes, even the box is exciting! The container for the Nintendo DSi looks nice with a picture of the console on their with the clear words 'Nintendo DSi'. I open it up and I see it. The Nintendo DSi! Having read my instruction manual for my old Nintendo DS a while ago, I thought I wouldn't need to. A brief flick-through and it looked very nice and well ... more

Advantages Advantages Lots of new features.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not all of those new features are well executed.

The DSi is another console part of the over growing Nintendo Family. There are two screens and one of which is a touch screen. You insert your game cartridge into the back of the game and you play it. It's a lot similar to the previous DS console releases but with major changes; the removal of the GBA slot, the addition of two cameras, smaller mic, wider screens an SD card slot but most of all, access to the internet. I was one of those people who where initially dissapointed that there would be no gameslot for Gameboy Advance games, but this also made me feel glad that I kept my Gameboy ... more
