Advantages: Tetris, Zelda, Lemmings, Alfred Chicken, V-Rally... Disadvantages: Obsolete now, a little too bulky to be comfortable for very long
...- the good old, 100-million-plus-selling, Nintendo Game Boy itself. Just let me drag myself away from Alfred Chicken for a minute (no officer, it's nothing like that. Honestly) and I'll be with you.
At first glance, it looks rather dull. At second glance, even more so - really nothing more than a grey brick with a tiny LCD screen, an even tinier speaker and a few buttons dotted about. The most exciting feature it can muster is probably the legend ...

...so popular in the 1990's.
The Nintendo Gameboy originally came out several years before it's 1989 us debut and Japanese debut in the same year. There were many portable games and console before the gameboy.
Sega of Japan (not the US Sega) actually released a couple of portable consoles before the game gear came out. Then later of course came, those cheap, but mildly entertaining Tiger games that cost like $10 at the supermarket.
However, ...

...compared to the competition. The Nintendo system also offered a battery life that was far superior to that of others making it perfect for play on the move. However the one major advantage of the Gameboy was a game that was to become legendary......‘Tetris'. Despite being one of the most simple games ever made it was also possibly the most addictive. The basic principle on the game is too line up shapes made of four small blocks that fall from the ...

Advantages: great games, great graphics(for his age) Disadvantages: size, not so pocket size, sometimes dodgy sounds and graphics(but that's the game developers mna!)
I have owned an original gameboy now for ten, nearly eleven, whopping years. And althoug I play it a lot less than I used to, it's the best buddy a gal(or guy) can have on long, or even short twenty minute, journeys, especially, when like me, you get a little bit green from reading in the car.
If Sony is the dominant one among the big boys, Ninty is definitely the dominant one among the little boys. The lynx was the first to fall, then the game ...

Advantages: great comfort in times of need Disadvantages: a few
...I thank God for the Nintendo game boy! I never even thought of buying one until I was in hospital for six months. After all there is only so many times you can look at a ceiling or wall before getting bored!
A friend loaned me a game boy console with a few games. One of which was ‘Tetris’. Once I had conquered the initial doubts and worries of any new games, I began to enjoy playing on my newfound toy. So much so, that I asked my wife ...

Muddy trousers.
Now on to my review. Firstly, this is a review about the ORIGINAL game boy and not that stupid Game Boy Colour thing ( I refuse to Say color and turn in to an american. DON'T GIVE IN TO THE URGE). Okay, so the GBC isn't so much of a bad thing but hey, I need material for these reviews.

My parents bought me my first game boy when I was eleven, and boy did I like it. Slowly I made them buy me games and all the other accessories that go with it like a genie which you attach at the top and it helps you by giving you hints.
I remember it being very handy and when it used to be the last day of term we would be allowed to take it to school and I and the other kids would take them in and play each other games.
We used to travel ...

Advantages: It's a cool travelable consult Disadvantages: not enough good games
I've had my gameboy for two years now, it's really good although I wish I could find some good games though! My sister has two Marios but they seem to be the best I can find!
Gameboys are good value for money, they are mini games consults which you can take with you on trips from small car journeys to long holidays. They are light weight and in most cases they take two triple "A" Batteries or a small re-chargeable unit.
Games cost roughly between ...

...has Tetris in mind, but since Nintendo wasn't really sure if the Game Boy was to survive, they had not invested much money in the cartridges,it was just the same with the Super Nes,because it cost a lot as well.
I can remember that the cartridges I bought at Jouéclub, were pretty expensive...after a few months and with a wider range of games, you could notice the difference between a one-month old game and a brand new one...35 or 40 quid for a brand ...

Advantages: Small, easy to use, fills boredom gaps. Disadvantages: Pins and needles.
I know it's not a new product but it still deserves a mention as I have just recently discovered it all over again whilst moving house.
There it was, along with all the games I used to play on it. Abandoned but still boxed and sat right against the back wall under my bed, completely buried. I dusted it off, removed it from the box, found four batteries and off I went. I must have sat there on the floor for a good hour, swapping the games around ...

Advantages: What a classic Disadvantages: Old, tired and a lot of competition
I got my first game boy when I was very young. i remember being really excitied about getting it, as it was the first type of computer I'd ever own myself. At the time, it was state of the art, top of the range technology. It's weird to look back now and think how popular they really were. I don't think there was a single child in my class who did have one or who didn't have a brother or sister who had one! they were quite expensive when they first ...

...most addictive game ever, Pokemon. Nintendo made it in the 80s, and it is still selling tremendously well even now. The ability to play where ever you go is a great benefit of the system, and the batterys will last for hours. I lost a good percentage of my childhood to the gameboy, and even now, I still play it. So its not just a toy, and some of the games are a great laugh.

Quick review of Nintendo GameBoy Review ofNintendo GameBoyby
scream4bruce
Compared to newer models, it's bulkier, and four AA batteries make it heavier! Only capable of displaying four colours, strong battery life (at least ten hours) was a reason for holding off the competition. That's not to suggest the monochrome palette limited the quality; the Game Boy had plenty of good games, and in Tetris was a killer app. An advantage of playing some close NES ports would be smoother scrolling. As a 2D console, Faceball 2000 technically stood out - an FPS! The ill-green coloured screen wasn't back-lit, so may be positioned poorly for a view in good light, though the likes of magnifiers and light devices somewhat help. Head-to-head was catered for via link-up, and through special adaptors multiplayer support - up to sixteen simultaneously in Faceball 2000! However, the GB Color and GB Advance models at least can play GB titles more-or-less perfectly, so collectors only.

Advantages: a classic console, MASSIVE selection of games Disadvantages: Current GB games no longer compatible, how on earth did I ever see the screen? black & white screen, not backlit.
I bought my first Nintendo Gameboy around October 1991 (just to show how old this thing is now) with the pocket money I'd saved with the original intention of replacing my shagged out Raleigh Grifter XL bicycle with a brand spanking new Raleigh Lizard Mountain bike.
I've still got one (having had to replace me first 2 after breaking them), though if I remember rightly the battery compartment doesn't work anymore, I think from using an AC adaptor ...
