Review of Nintendo NES by dodswa

Advantages: fantastic
Disadvantages: nothing

...fantastic. i cant wait till the nintendo revolution, its supposed to have cartridge games just like the nes the snes and the n64, this means that graphics can be improved on the game as the graphics chip is inside the cartridge and no1 can copy games so nintendo gets more money, and why shouldnt it its a great company which makes fantastci consoles. if you have a nes cherish it and play those classical games i envy you. i want a nes again, not ... Those were the days
Review of Nintendo NES by Duffield

Advantages: So simple, enjoyable, and best of all FUN
Disadvantages: None, a completely flawless product

I have an N64 and a SNES and a Megadrive but to be honest if my NES still worked I'd still play it all the time. When I was six years old my family bought a NES to play and I loved it. All the games were classics, and it didnt matter if the graphics were unrealistic, because the games were great. If I could have back the days when the NES was the new and in thing I would. It is way ahead of its time and was one of the first portable games conoles. ... Read review

WHAT A CONSOLE!!!
Review of Nintendo NES by benni

Advantages: those were the days
Disadvantages: NONE WHAT SO

I am 20 years old and in my life time there has not been many creations or inventions that i can think of that can be thought of very easily. Unless you include things like the internet or break throughs in human science then my life has been very dry when i comes to physical invention like the TV or the Light bulb!! But wait.......that is what i thought until a few weeks back when i found myself remebering my youth playing on my games consoles, ... Read review

One of the first ever games consoles
Review of Nintendo NES by pauluk

Advantages: Was very good in its time
Disadvantages: Very old now

the NES made by Nintendo otherwise known as the Nintendo Entertaunment Sytem was one of the first ever gams consoles to be made and its memory compared to a modern games console was absolutley tiny. The games console could have to control pads allowing certain games to be multiplayer. a well known game on the NES was Mario Bros which was an adventure platform game and each player would take it in turns to play levels. There was one other game which ... Read review

I love the NES!!!
Review of Nintendo NES by Mortuus2k

Advantages: Great games
Disadvantages: Not powerful by today's standards

The Nintendo Entertainment System is the best console ever in my opinion. It may lack all the technology in todays consoles, but gameplay is where it counts and the Nintendo Entertainment System has all the gameplay you could ever want. I will never forget my first go on Super Mario Bros., I loved it. We used to have the whole family gathering around the Nintendo Entertainment System at my nan's house, waiting patiently for me to die so they could ... Read review

NES WANNABE
Review of Nintendo NES by mleeng

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

...a film made regarding the nintendo and mario brothers 3. Anyway the system was nintedo answer the sega, sega system which was very good actrually to be honest I think that was the only time sega ever had a system as good as nintedo, the colours on the nes was alright, but it still just wasn't as colourful as sega, plus I didn't think mario was as fun as sega sonic, as it was alot more slower etc, but I did like megman that good. Anyway I guess ... Read review

Retro Respect
Review of Nintendo NES by SmurfTheWeb

Advantages: Great gameplay. Will be worth mega $$$'s soon due to age.
Disadvantages: Old - hard to get and get games for.

The Nintendo NES is the first console produced by Nintendo. It is now rather old - no longer being manufactured - and there are few games still available for it. The NES was a very basic machine. It had large blocky cartridges for games, and a very basic control pad. The console itself is a basic cube, with a fold up slot for the games. It uses RF cabling to your TV, and a standard power supply. The graphics are poor, but for the time they were ... Read review

Little gem
Review of Nintendo NES by Mrchom

Advantages: Great games, great price
Disadvantages: Not so hot graphics, may be hard to find

...value or the fact that Nintendo are great but the fact that this machine has the best games ever made. Forget Metal Gear solid...play the original and its sequel on the NES...forget Mario64 play the original 4 games (that are very much superior) on the NES. This little gem gives great entetainment at an unrivalled price...buy one now and you won't be sorry. You'll be playing the games for years to come (I've had mine since 1988 and it is still in ... Quality from nintendo
Review of Nintendo NES by AdonisC

Advantages: great in its time
Disadvantages: 2 player

The nintendo nes was a quality console, that used to reign in its day. From humble beginnings, it had a variety of really cool games and was a must for every child. In particular, the super mario and tetris genres were strokes of genius from the nintendo development team, and served to hook millions of children worldwide. The actual console, however, was somewhat limited. It was only two player and had no internet connection, unlike a lot of the ... Read review

10 years update
Review of Nintendo NES by Ian_TheMuffin_evans

Advantages: Fun, Frantic, and next to no loading time
Disadvantages: nothing you can't emulate, if you have the origanals, ofcouse!

Wow, this thing is the bomb. It was let loose on the Japanise in 1983, and, 4 years later, the long awaited release in europe. Being years ahead of its time, Nintendo's "little wounder" was an 8bit machine with a Motorola 6502 prossesor @ 1.79MHz, 2mb ran and 2kb of dedicated vidio ram. The 256 x 240 res display was extremly advanced at the time and could quite easily run the most updated games made for the system, inclueding the Mario Brothers ... Read review

well what do i need to say eh?
Review of Nintendo NES by saltash_skechy

Advantages: one of the best ever, the best game play ever too
Disadvantages: graphics,but it dont matter

I first got 1 of these when I was only 3,and 15 years on and i still have a working piece of gaming history. The amount of games for this console is unbelievable such as Mario bros, Duck hunt and Paper boy the console only has 8bit graphics but you don’t need fancy graphics to make the games work they run on pure game play, and i miss that about gaming. The casing of this console is a bit dull but went well in the 80's its simple to use the controls ... Read review

The one which started it all!
Review of Nintendo NES by malky_muff

Advantages: Its the daddy
Disadvantages: Its the daddy (eg its old!)

Ok ok, this is NOT the first ever console but it is the first of the breed which we currently use. This really is a piece of gaming history and if you have one or can get one i suggest that you do. There are a number of serious good games for this platform including the original mario games as well as Zelda. Anyone whose ever owned one of these will know that you will (from time to time) have to be a bit rough with the power base and the carts to ... Read review
