Advantages: Well designed Pad, Get the Most out of the Virtual Console. Disadvantages: Not Wireless, Overpriced.
You may be thinking hold up I thought the whole appeal of the Wii was it didn't have to use use a normal pad. Why on earth would I want to spend a £10-15 on old technology. Well the main reason reason is the Virtual console which allows you to download old games from N64, Snes, Nes, Mega Drive, Master system and the lesser known PC engine. Allot of these games require button setups that the Wiimote can not provide either because it does not have ... ...suit the old style game.
So the Classic controller is a sort hybrid of all Nintendo's past controllers rolled into one with a d-pad 4 Shoulder buttons (2 long L and R buttons and 2 short Z buttons), 2 Analogue sticks and four basic buttons on the front face. Which allow for you to play the classic games with a control setup they were designed for rather then twisting your hand around the Wiimote.

The Nintendo Wii has really taken the world of computer gaming by storm. In my opinion this is mainly the result of Nintendo looking at all aspects of gaming as we know it, and putting a completely different angle on it. ...have just bought your new Nintendo Wii. You have frantically swung your shiney new wii remote like a tennis racket. But somehow this amazing peice of new gaming technology, with its slightly retro looking graphics will also make you realise just how far gaming has developed. Wii sports is a far cry from the original classics of super mario bros and donkey Kong. Luckily for us (and Nintendo's accountants) the wii also contains a virtual console, where ... ...people. I dont understand why Nintendo did not make it either wirelss or just a standard plug in to the console (as the gamecube controllers can do).

The Nintendo classic controller is a wii remote accessory which is attatched into the slot in which you place the nunchuk. However, unlike the nunchuk, it is used on it's own and not in conjunction with the wii remote.
The design is similair to that of the playstation controller. It has two analog sticks, a set of directional buttons, four buttons at the front an four buttons at the back. The Nintendo classic controller is used for nearly all the ... ...previous Nintendo consoles have followed a similair design. The Nintendo classic controller can also be used for regular Nintendo wii games, particularly games made by Nintendo, such as Mario Kart and Smash bros, because the previous games in the series used a controller that follows a similair design.
The only downside about this controller, that I can think of, is that having the wii remote on your lap while playing with it is rather annoying.

The Nintendo Wii Classic Controller game pad retails at most game Stores for around £14.99. The Controller Plugs into the wii Remote and is mainly used for Classic Virtual Games which can be Downloaded Via the wii shop Channel.
The Nintendo Wii Classic Controller are Mainly used on the Virtual Console Games such as N64, Sega mega Drive, Nintendos Older Systems and a few Other systems. There are a few Virtual Games which will not work with the classic ... ...Commodore 64 Titles.

The Classic Controller blends elements from Nintendo's NES, Super NES, and N64 controllers. This controller is light weight and fit comfortably in your hand when you are playing it and its easy to use.

As far as controllers go this is perfectly good. Two analog joysticks, easy to use, lots of buttons but doesn't confuse. It is a shame another controller is needed for the wii. This makes three, the main one, the numchuck, and the classic controller. So if buying a wii, and you want to play with your friends, you may be paying a fair bit extra for controllers. But it's worth it. I got two of these so I could play mario cart 64 with my brother, and ... ...Some don't need it, like sonic, but for others it is neccessary. To get the most out of your wii, or if you love the old games, or don't want to spend to much on new games, get one of these. A downside is that it plugs into the wii controller. So if you want to do two player, you need two normal wii controllers as well as two classic controllers. Tuff one, no im serious!. This Classic remote as its named will allow you to play all the NES,SNES,N64 game you download off the Wii.
