Wii-motes eat batteries, flimsy Sensor Bar cable

When I bought my original PlayStation I got the console and a demo disk. When I bought my Nintendo Wii I got the console and a full free game. What sounds like the better deal to you? Not since the Sega Master System II have I seen a better console/free included game combination that wasn\'t some...

Despite lackluster showings in the past two gaming generations, Nintendo seems to be getting their momentum back, as the Nintendo DS dominates the portable community and their newest console, the Wii, is off to a flying start. Slim, slick, innovative and readily fun, is this wee little machine...

Ok so there’s no way (in this case) that you could say that I was an early adopter of technology, after all it’s now several years since the Wii was released and we only got round to buying one about six months ago. There were several reasons why we hadn’t bought one, firstly I was (and still am)...

Makes up for Gamecube's short comings

Doesn't keep up on raw power

This may sound hard to believe but as of March 8th the Wii will have been on the European market for four months, that's a third of a year, and I can't believe it has been that long since the stories of console shortages and flying controllers hit the news. For those that live under a rock, the...

For all ages, many types of games

Can be expensive so shop around

The Nintendo Wii console has been around since 2006. It was one of the first consoles of its kind, using a motion sensor as a controller. Having your movements control games was quite a new and novel idea and the console was and still is very popular. COLOURS The Wii console is available in...

Totally interactive gaming..

Only four players at a time..

Ok so like the majority of the country when they were first released I was as excited about the Nintendo Wii, as the next person.. However, being a poor student at the time I resigned myself to the fact I wasn't going to get one for a very long time, well at least until they came below a hundred...

Christmas 2006 was a very happy occasion for our family, as at last the Nintendo Wii was unwrapped. We had pre ordered it and had been very good at not using until Christmas, so as you can imagine the excitement had been growing and it was really worth the wait. What was inside the box. Upon...

Latest update (13 th Dec 2009): The latest Wii firmware version 4.2 offers the ability of the console to read SD card that is > 2GB. I put a 4GB SD card in and it does read it and I can see more 'block's available for my card (2GB card ~ 14000 blocks; 4GB card ~ 27000 blocks). Since it can read...

Great games for all

Slightly flawed marketing

There are some very mixed reviews here so I'd like to make my own points which will hopefully help people in their decision as to whether to buy one. First of all, it has been marketed incredibly cleverly, based on one point that makes it different (the motion sensor). Also, making it almost...

I've been wanting a Wii since they first come out after hearing so many great things about them. Being low on funds and with bills to pay, i decided to wait a little while until i just couldn't wait any longer. After umming and arghing for months, i thought, what the hell, let's go for it. I put...

Goodness! This review that I am about to write makes me feel slightly old! It was back in 2006 the Nintendo Wii came out. I cannot believe we are now in 2012 (almost)! I remember the day the Wii came out- because at the time we were shopping in Asda- I actually had no intention of buying this...

I have been a console gamer for nearly 20 years. I have played on nearly every decent console that has existed, none of which has largely differentiated in terms of how you play the game. All have involved inserting a joypad into the computer and controlling the action on screen with the D-pad...

“Unique Console Experience”

published 28/05/2007

Small, innovative, unique, fun

average graphics, can be difficult to control

The console itself is brilliant, very stylish, and absolutely tiny! If you put 3 DVD boxes together, that's the size of the Wii, and unlike the XBox 360 it is also very quiet and very reasonable with loading times. The actual finish on the console is great, it's glossy but doesn't show up...

Back in the mists of time, in an age long ago (well it was actually the 1980s) a great war started. It pitted man against machine. Brave men battled against the fiendish machines, whether it be to save the universe, complete an epic quest or to just shoot animated ducks out of the sky. This war...
