As you may gather, as I'm approaching seven weeks using the patch successfully, it's worked for me. I have finished Stage 1 and am now on Stage 2. However, I have experienced mild side effects and annoyances.

Advantages: I dont smell and I'm not killing myself(got to be good), dont get any of the rubbish stuff in the patches Disadvantages: none come to mind
...It also reminds you that NiQuitin CQ is not a magic cure, it helps with the physical, not the mental, but they also help with this!! There is a Freephone number to ring 0800 092 9392 to ring, you can even ring this before you give up, you speak to a counseller who helps devise a plan for you. You then get a diary with your personal plan which is full of advice, you then get regular advice and encouragement, you can also ring them at any time for ... ...to lapse. You can also register online at www.niquitincq.com. There is a questionnaire to help choose the best plan for you, you can then go on the quitters website to look at your plan which has loads of info and tips, you also get weekly encouraging e-mails, on the site there is also masses of information you couldnt get in the booklet and via a person. The downside is there is no 'real' person to talk to, but you can still ring up the freephone ...

...on Step 2 of the NiQuitin CQ patches. This is also the next step after users of Step 1 patches have completed the first six weeks of the programme. If you have been using the Step 1 patches, the treatment time of Stage 2 will only be two weeks. However, if you are initially starting the whole NRT programme from Stage 2 the patches will have to be used for around six weeks until Stage 1 can be achieved. Stage 2 patches contain 14mg of nicotine.

Well I tried these very patches around two and half years ago and I have given up smoking, my last cigarette was January 6th 2006. I started off on the heavy strength. The patches themselves last a full day from morning till night. The main problem I had with them was when your body craves the nicoteen you feel your energy pulling the nicoteen out of the patch. There is also an itching sensation. It is advisable not to wear them to bed as they can ... ...you really want to stop they are a great help in the battle against smoking. My program included patches and the support of a nurse and I have never been tempted since. The patches are transparrent and are a little on the large side. they are only advisable for heavy smokers as it is possible to have a nicoteen overdose. Well without these and the support of the nurse I'd probably still be a smoker. ...
