The review is quite long but this is a subject where you may have a lot of questions not only about the product, but about giving up smoking in general, and therefore I have tried to include as much information as I can think of. How long on each step? I made a mistake with mine, which I'll tell you about shortly, but here is what it says on the instructions:
STEP 1: 21mg for 6 weeks then continue with:
STEP 2: 14mg for 2 weeks, then continue with STEP 3: 7mg for 2 weeks

Advantages: NOT smoking, smaller patch Disadvantages: still that initial itch
...who started me on Niquitin CQ Step 1 Patches. The manufacturers say to try 6 weeks at step 1 but my GP preferred to have me on the stronger ones for only 4 weeks before moving me to the next step. I didn't notice any difference at all.
I'm now on the final stage, step 3 and still haven't noticed any difference, although my nicotine patch is now 7mg compared to the higher one of 21mg. I feel really proud of myself, my sense of taste and smell have ... ...the ciggies this time.
NiQuitin CQ are really good in keeping cravings at bay (what cravings? I've had none at all for smoking). The slight burn and itch is still there when I apply a new patch every day but I'm getting used to that by now. What's a small itch and burn between friends if I'm going to continue to save all that money by not smoking? The step 3 patch is only an inch square, tiny compared to the step 1.
My dreams aren't so vivid now, ...
