What Nirvana gave me was the unrivalled joy of their music, the unrivalled adoration for their front man, the unrivalled attention to rock music, and then the unrivalled sadness of ’that’ day in 1994. Every year it comes round, that day when Cobain put that shotgun in his mouth and pulled the trigger. Despite that not being my beliefs as to what happened, I wish to steer clear of that topic because I simple can’t handle it right now. ...to match it’s ever-present intensity. Nirvana will be one of the staple bands generation after generation, therefore this greatest hits album is a perfect starting point for the post-90s grunger looking to lick their wounds.

The underground reeled ... ...rest of the world, finding Nirvana was a life changing experience. Nirvana’s radio-friendly rock turned the pop world of it’s head. Soon after the success of their most famous single “Smells Like Teen Sprit” more and more grunge and alternative acts were storming the charts. Things were changing. Factors contributed to this change in musical climate are various, though it was mostly down to the dire need for something new. ...

I love Nirvana and hold great admiration for Kurt Cobain's lyrics and innner thoughts, outlooks etc.. The opener is 'You Know You're Right'. This song sent chills through my whole body the first time i heard it. Their music is awsome!!!!!!!!!!I was only 5 years old when Cobain their lead singer died but their music still inspires me so many years later. I love the songs "smells like teen spirit" and "rape me" and "dumb".They have great drum parts which i like playing as i play the drums lol. Nirvana were a great rock band, and the tragic death of lead man Kurt Cobain was a tragedy, again someone so talented had lost their life. It was shock to many who followed them, on April 4th 1994, he was pronounced dead. However his music and his legacy still remain, and now he is popular as any time before.

His lyrics reflect ... ...‘Smells like Teen Spirit’ from the album Nevermind, which sold so many copies and to many who believed it bought them world wide status. I also like Lakes of Fire from the album Unplugged In New York.
