Advantages: Reliability, strong engine, comfort, handling Disadvantages: Looks, not the fastest car on the planet...
...not the worst. And Nissan have some of the best deals around.
I bought this as my first ever car, mainly tempted by the Nissan 3-2-1 deal that was being offered. I received 2 years free insurance from Privilege Insurance, and a years free servicing at a Main Dealer included in the package, a saving of around £4000 for me as an 18 year old. I will post about the insurance in the relevant section later.
So what about the car? Well, the styling is ... ...given the big wheel arches Nissan have blessed the Almera with, and even when I added 17" alloys and lowered the car, they still only looked like stock 15s...

The Nissan Almera is a good family car. It has a number of extras, which are standard The three year warranty is also an advantage when buying the car new, it is also an advantage when buying a nearly new Almera as the warranty can be transferred to the new car owner.
With all these positive points, why is the Almera not a best seller. The main reason is its image, which is dull.

...replace the mundane sunny and nissan managed to make another souless car. Unremarkable in looks the word bland seems to follow the word nissan around. Interior typically japaneese of cheap and nasty plastic. Sony casstte player which has a stalk on the steering wheel. Why? you still have to take your hand off the wheel to fiddle with the volume. Engine is underpowered compared to rivals like rovers 1.4 engine. Oh yeah reliability. but this is a quality ...
