Family Tardis

Advantages: Cubby-holes
Disadvantages: Sluggish

The Nissan Almera Tino is a mini-people carrier variant of the Nissan Almera hatchback. We have had a Tino 1.8SE+ for 2 years (28,000 miles). Extras include satellite navigation and pearlescent paint. On the outside the Tino is a more attractive beast than it's counterparts (the Scenic et al). On the inside it has been extremely well designed. When developing the Tino Nissan enlisted the assistance of the National Childbirth Trust here in the UK. ...
...a tall bookcase to fit comfortably). So far reliability has been excellent (no problems whatsoever *touch wood*). All in all I prefer this vehicle to the Scenic - it has a better external appearance, a more resilient internal feel and the reliability of Nissan vehicles is excellent. ...

Advantages: Incredibly reliable , spacious , well equipt , good economy , good performance
Disadvantages: Paint work scratches easily

We have owned our Tino for over 18 months now & covered 16,000 miles & we can honsetly say it's the best car we have ever owned. It is a well reported fact that nearly ever car that comes out of the factory has at least 5 faults . The Tino has to be the exception - we have not even experienced the slightest murmer of a fault . The tino is extremely spacious with plenty of headroom & leg room . There are storage drawers under both drivers seats ...
...valuables , brollies etc . Boot space is huge - 5 suitcases is not a problem . Our 3 kids have ample space in the seperate three seat in the back With a 1.8 litre engine performance is good , even when the car is full of kids - keeping up with modern motorway speeds is not a problem Comfort is excellent as well - we have been across the continent on severals occasions & you reach your destination free of aches & pains & numbness you might expect ...

All you need Tino about Nissan's people carrier

Advantages: Well equipped with precise steering and gear change
Disadvantages: So much body roll I felt seasick!

Car: Nissan Almera Tino For: Well equipped with precise steering and gear change Against: So much body roll I felt seasick! Value: Good levels of equipment as standard but it is a bit expensive when compared with the likes of the Scenic and the Tacuma. Costs: Fuel economy is pretty good from the 1.8 which gives about 36mpg on a good day. Insurance and servicing costs are also quite reasonable Reliability: It is a Nissan so nuf said really Driving: ...
...The steering is good and has lots of feel and the gearbox is slick too. However these are about the only good points that I can think of. When you try to accelerate hard there are two problems; first nothing happens and secondly the engine sounds as if someone has chucked a load of nuts and bolts into it. NOT GOOD! People carriers are not great at cornering at the best of times but this has to be one of the worst of the lot. It rolled so much in ...

Motor trade pundits get it WRONG.....(often!)

Advantages: Comfortably smooth, cost effectively elegant, superbly designed
Disadvantages: Poor economy, some naff dealers, not suited for the tall

Where we live, we see lots of Picasso's, loads of Scenics, far too many ugly (but fairly ingeneous) Zafiras and all too many Galaxy-esque tanks and the like. We rarely see any Tinos!! Even though we've been looking at purchasing one for 18 months, we STILL don't see many. Anyway to the car:- We took delivery just 3 weeks ago, but we nearly purchased from a different maker JUST BECAUSE of the service we "didn't" get from our local dealer. He/they ...
...found throughout our extensive car search, that many dealers, of varying manufacturers were like that too. By recommendation, we travelled 15 miles to a caring (or seemingly so) alternative dealer, DON'T be put off by bad service. Search your car first, test drive - THEN search for the supplier. So, back to these cars, (sorry mini-MPVs). They are simply magnificent, well designed, nicely equipped and are also very refined for what they cost. Their ...

Picasso and Scenic's are too common, get a Tino!

Advantages: Storage, Price, Smooth drive, Removeable seating
Disadvantages: Some body roll, wheel arches take up boot space

We bought our Tino 18mths ago, second hand on an X plate. It's the SE 1.8 petrol. A fantastic car and having drove both the scenic and picasso it's probably the best MPV out of them all. Great care has gone in to it's design with loads of storage space, cubby holes, cup holders and pull up meal trays (which kids love!). The seat design is also very clever with all of the back seats being seperate, adjustable and can be fully removed, and an option ...
...The boot could have been bigger as room is taken up with the rear wheel arches. But the boot is still sizeable with a good folding parcel shelf and netting to secure shopping etc. The drive experiance is very good, only let down a bit by some excess body roll, so you may find your bum sliding over to one side after a while. The gear box is as smooth as liquid and is a real pleasure. Seating position is very good with good visability. Extras on the ...

Our new Nissan

Advantages: price, specification, comfort, insurance
Disadvantages: not good for technophobes

We bought a Nissan Almera Tino just over a week ago. The salesman/dealership were very helpful (but I guess they would be as they wanted a sale!). The model we got was the SE but with a special pack that Nissan are currently offering which gave upgraded alloys, front fog lights and leather interior. The equipment included was just what we were looking for with a cd player, climate control, air con, sunroof etc and the rear parking camera is really ...
...putting in their car parks at a level which makes them hard to see. The car itself looks great from the outside and is very spacious on the inside. The seats are really firm and comfortable (once you have found your driving position), we changed from a Renault Laguna and I found the increased height a bit off putting at first (a bit like driving a bus) but I soon adjusted. There is ample room in the boot unlike some MPV's and the versatile seating ...

THE NISSAN ALMERA TINA IS A GREAT BUY FOR THE MONEY

Advantages: spacious, great storage, great value for second hand car, great on long journeys
Disadvantages: looks abit ugly from the front

We bought the Nissan Almera tino 1.8 as a secondhand car about 2 months ago. we have found it to be great so far. its really spacious and and has a number of very handy storage areas. its has a number of useful facilities for families including a fold down chair with a table and little table trays on the back of the driver and passenger seats. it also has a large boot. im no mechanic and dont know a great deal about the mechanics of a car but i found ...
...used to a smaller car but i enjoy driving it as it has power when needed and when the car is full it doesnt seem to lose any power. in my opinion you cant go wrong with this car if you are looking for a mpv which is at the cheaper and of the market. ...

The MPV For You

Advantages: Great Reliability
Disadvantages: Dodgey Looks

...was rather sparen when the Nissan Almera tino came on to the seen and god how I was happy to see the car arrive. When the Renault scenic success was realised many other companies got in on the act. When the Almera hit the market there was only really two small mpvs which were the Nissan's and the Renault's but now through time Citroen got in with their Picasso, ford with the focus c-max and Vauxhall with a wide varity of cars. This car has extremely ...

tino a great car

Advantages: easy access for disabled
Disadvantages: none

we purchased this car last july, just a basic s model but the basic model has much more than most cars,we have always had smaller hatchback type cars before this but as my husband has problems walking needed something that wasnt as awkward to get into,we have been on a few trips away in this car and is roomy, good on fuel and has a good cd player/radio,it has plenty of storage places under floor and seating, great for shopping trips!!!!!!!if we have ...

Nissan Tino is not tiny!

Advantages: Very reliable and with very good safety features
Disadvantages: none that I can think of yet

I have just recently bought a second-hand Tino previous owner 2001 model and I have to say, I love it!. I was a bit apprehensive getting a bigger car than what I'm used to - I've usually stuck with Vauxhall hatchbacks and, when the last second-hand car only lasted 2 years (after chucking over £1500 on it in repairs), it was time to think again about whether to buy the same format or go for something entirely different. This time, I went to a small ...
...been absolutely thrilled with the car from the start. The view is fantastic all round and it has the oomph that I've not experienced before with a second-hand car. It took me only a couple of run arounds to get used to driving from such a height and it makes me feel so secure knowing that I'm in a safe vehicle. The dashboard may not be the sleekest of things to look at but it gives you all the information you need to know about how the car is performing. ...
