Advantages: It's different, it puts a smile on your face; resale value, economical Disadvantages: Parts can be expensive & hard to find, white interior will get dirty quick
...its younger market’. Nissan were a very conservative run company producing well made & reliable cars but aside from a handful of models they would hardly get the adrenaline pumping. Young Japanese buyers would rather buy Honda or Toyota as they were more focused on the ‘youth’ market & ‘cool’ to be seen in.
THE PIKE FACTORY
With the help of some young & inspiring engineers Nissan produced three highly individual models that were to be produced ... ...produced another niche model for Nissan in 1985 called the Be-1.
Their first new project car was called the Pao (say it POW!), a rather boxed shaped utilitarian looking three door hatchback which looks like it had been influenced by the old war time VWs. It featured a grille that wouldn’t look out of place on a 1950s electric fire, external door hinges, loads of painted metal inside & it had a back to basics look about it. Only 10.000 were produced ...

...the vehicle as a 1990 Nissan Figaro. The search to find a car to actually buy developed rapidly after trawling various sites thrown out by Google and after several fruitless weekends going to view examples for sale whose visible rust patches and tatty interiors had seen better days. We weren't put off or search after each disappointing journey back home, only slightly more enthusiastic about actually getting one of our own and even I was feeling ... ...show was so high that Nissan ran a lottery system to decide who would own one. Ooooh Matron!. They came in four colours, lapis grey, topaz mist, pale aqua and emerald green. They have a one litre turbo charged engine from a nissan micra of the same era so parts are cheap and all models were fitted with automatic transmission, which I find weird on long journeys because my left foot has nothing to do. What not to do, in an automatic car, is to forget ...

Advantages: gorgeous retro style, investment, convertible, petrol consumption, reliable, makes people envious! Disadvantages: Insurance
I bought my Figaro named 'Willoughby' last February (2008) after wanting one for years, aside from a Daimler Dart they are my dream car! I struggled and had to work really hard to raise the money, but I managed it. I was dead set on having a purple one - I do love the original colours, but think that purple is the colour they were made to be!! I wanted to find one that was already sprayed purple as I knew how expensive good spray jobs were and knew ... ...I bought the car from an importer in London, and managed to knock him down from £5,000 to £4,850. Many dealers sell Figaros for £8.,000+ and after looking at Figaros in many, many different places for sale, I can safely say that they are not always worth that much. You can find them for the price I did, in excellent condition with low mileage. My figaro had less than 45,000 miles on the clock when I bought it, which is low for a car of about 17 years ...

...when you spot your first Nissan Figaro on the roads. You will feel like you've shot back 50 years…..
Back in 1991, the well know car company Nissan, arguably designed and produced a most unique car on the market at the time. It was born the "The Nissan Figaro" a cult car then and still is. The Figaro was meant to capture the general spirit of '50s cars in some way, rather than to be a reproduction of a car that had actually existed. Nissan only ... ...is actually built on a Nissan Micra but using a twin-cam, turbo-charged one-litre engine!! It has a automatic gearbox (they all came with them as standard so you won't find a manual one) electric windows and power steering and a roof that comes off making it a cool convertiable for the summer months. But if you're thinking that this car won't have all the mod con's like today's' cars then you will be surprised to learn that this car is actually very ...

Advantages: It's small and easy to park and nippy around town. It's like being with a celebrity and it looks brilliant and sooooooo cute. I've fallen in love with it. Disadvantages: I can't fine any apart from you wouldn't want to sit in the back for a long journey but I won't be as I'll be driving. Not a lot of storage space but okay for 2 small overnight bags and 2 adults.
I recently bought a Nissan Figaro from a private dealer in Hartfield in the Ashdown Forest near East Grinstead (DTN Trading - Theo). He has been importing Nissan Fig's for the last 2 years and has 2 garages in his garden and a mechanic working with him and about 20 Nissan Figaros in various states of renovation. He sold us a lovely pale aqua Nissan Figaro (my favourite colour) for £4,800 and it has been re-conditioned to a very good standard. It ... ...and mud flaps, all the bodywork and chrome is in excellent condition with no dents or rusting, it beeps when you reverse, and the only thing that isn't working is the CD player but the cassette and radio work. He fitted an imobiliser to the car and he converted the km's to miles for me. It's a very cute baby and in the last 4 days I have driven over 200 miles in my new Fig. It has 12 month's road tax and MOT'd till September 06. I also bought a cover ...

Advantages: Looks great and stylish Disadvantages: Expensive to get fixed if anything goes wrong - but it is a classic
The Nissan Figaro car is a classic. It is elegant, retro, and definately stylish. They come in various colours - manly pastel colours such as green, blue, topaz, and grey - but can be coloured to every persons requirements as I have seen pinks, reds, violets and metallic ones. The insides are gorgeous, you can still find the original accessories (such as feet mats and cup holders). You can even have the insides designed in more details, such as coloured ... ...to get them serviced and looked at (even bought), and my favourite is www.autosupplyuk.com in Brighton and they did an amazing job on my car and really can help you out if you need to ask anything.
It runs really well, winter and summer, and doesn't gussel up alot of petrol, although there is one problem I have had a couple of times, which is the engine flooding. The engine needs to be revved a few times before starting on your journey, just to ...

Brilliant.Thats it! Never had so much fun sitting down!
My advice is simply get one BUT get a good one. My friends was cheaper..and it shows! Bad decision and she now regrets it. Paying out to try and get it as good as mine. Simple advise is you cant buy a good Figaro cheap...it pays to get one that all the hard work on doing one up has been done for you so you don't have the headache and expense. I bought mine from Figs4u. Totally dedicated Figaro ... ...30 on show. I was in heaven! I tried a few other places first. Non were a patch on Figs4u. the others either did it in their spare time....ahhhhh or just cut corners to make a sale. Go there and you will see the cars being fully re-built and they are really friendly to boot.
Take my advice and geta lovely wonderful Figaro.....and see figs4u if you want a good one! ...
