The standard Nissan stereo that comes with the Micra isn’t really that wonderful though does the job and is better than NO stereo. Within a few months my passenger side speaker started crackling and I am going to replace it soon. Am waiting for an excuse to justify the expense. I do spend a fair bit of my time driving, and no music would send me to auto-pilot mode which is a highly dangerous situation to be in. (Tongue firmly in cheek)

...would unburden myself about my Nissan Micra.
I currently commute 50 miles per day, mainly on a dual carriageway and the M25. My mode of transport for this daily delight is a Micra 1 litre Persuasion “special edition”, although I have never worked out how it differs from a normal Equation model except for the badge on the boot, or what is supposed to be special about it.
My wife and I bought the car for her 5 years ago when she was commuting ... ...in the past, but the Nissan saps any enthusiasm within seconds of getting inside. The seats are not particularly comfortable and the whole interior, while sturdy, is basic, uninviting and dominated by a dashboard which looks as if it were designed for a 4 year old – lots of large knobs and dials and acres of grey plastic.
As for performance, first gear is quite promising, second not quite so good, then after that forget it. Over 40mph it sort ...

My Micra has a one litre (998cc) engine with CVT (automatic transmission) rather than the more popular traditional manual gear box, which makes it stand out from the crowd. The ride is very smooth and comfortable. For a small 998cc engine realistically you cannot fault the pick up from standing start, although a comparable manual box would drive away faster moving up the gears. I have driven two litre automatics and although ride and performance was better, the Micra CVT handles extremely well, less expensive to run, and much, ...

~Why buy?~
Well, for me it isn't the first time I have owned a Micra I used to own one years back and quite honestly I missed my small car just a little. Having had a huge 6 seater for the last year or so going back to a small car was going to be a little hard so I decided to go back to something I knew and of course a company I trusted so the Micra was an obvious choice for me.

I feel sorry for my little car sometimes, I really do. I don’t give her any love, care or attention. She sits, alone in the garage used, abused, battered and bruised and yet she still keeps on trying her best in the hope that one day I’ll return that love.

...both staid and dated, but Nissan can afford to laugh all the way to the bank, as it has been a best seller for them in all its various guises and models for more years than I care to remember.
One of the main reasons I believe this to be the case is that Nissan as a manufacturer are never content to sit on their laurels, and constantly strive (in common with all the Japanese car manufacturers) to improve their cars.

One big improvement that Nissan claim is in the effectiveness of the braking system.
They’ve added what they call “Nissan Brake Assist”, and “Electronic Brakeforce Distribution”. Seemingly, what this gobbledegook actually means is that you now get maximum effectiveness from your brakes without having to press the brake pedal so hard.
The car can be bought in both manual and automatic versions, and there’s ...

...a brilliant little car! The Nissan Micra was my first car, and I can’t recommend it highly enough really. It was a nippy car for it’s size, ideal for town driving, and never let me down. Mine was a P-reg 1997 model, which I owned during 2005-2006. Although this will always be a matter of taste, the second-generation Micra is probably the most visually pleasing of all Micras so far; a happy mid-way point between the characterless, squarer first generation (built up until 1993) and the current model, which to me looks ungainly and awkward. ...

Nissan Micra….. to most people seems to conjure up an image of a little old lady's shopping car tootling along at 25mph. Most people that is who have not seen me in my little baby zooming up and down the M60. I confess, I can be a speed demon (yes, even in my Micra!)
