Well when you think Nissan Micra anyone who knows the slightest about car manufacterers think reliability well.....NO our Micra has been driven by my family for a few yers now and it has proved to be a complete nightmare.Ours is a 1989 F regd Micra Mk 1 LS which is the lowest posible spec model.No-one in our family has enjoyed driving the Micra nor has anyone enjoyed forking an average £200 repair bill on a Mot!.
Reliability
The Nissan Micra Mk ... ...condition~
Nissan Micras dont really rust or rot till there about 16 if the paint work is looked after well.Mine has 1 medium sized bit of rot on the wing and thats it,So its not all bad. There has been no welding or anything like that been done to our Micra.
~~Looks
The Nissan Micra is o.k to look at but nothing to go mad about.I think the Fiesta Mk2 is a better looking rival but rusts very badly. The Micra maybe nothing to look at but was better ...

Advantages: Strong, capable engine; good space for four people Disadvantages: Gloomy interior, tin-can bodywork, poor paint finish, awful auto box
...in the days when a Nissan was as reliable as clockwork but also known for swiss-cheese bodywork once the British climate had got to it. Today, the tinworm is extinct in Nissans but close the latest Micra's door and you still get the impression that you're sitting in a tin can. You can just imagine hordes of Geordies shipping their Newcastle Brown empties down the A184 to Sunderland to be recycled into Micras.
My temporary transport was finished ... ...Mouse meets Noddy in Toyland". Nissan design and build cars in the UK, and are mostly owned by the French. You'd think that between our two great nations, we'd be able to teach the Japanese to give a car a soul, but they're obviously slow learners.
Open the boot to put your briefcase in, and you'll feel glad you don't have to put too much in there with it. Yes, it's a small car, but there are smaller cars with better carrying capacity, and the latest ...

Advantages: Utter reliability, running costs, easy to drive and park, sliding back seats, willing engine Disadvantages: headroom in rear, slightly odd looks!
This review is for a 1.2 SX, which the Sport edition replaced.
The SX model was better equipped than the Sport eg it has climate control and the keyless entry and ignition.
This 04 reg car belongs to my girlfriend and she has owned it for around 12 months.
She was looking for one with the keyless entry which originally I thought was very gimmicky - although I now wish my car has it too. It makes getting in very easy if you have shopping or if ... ...in.
In terms of equipment it has climate control, the keyless entry, parking sensors, rain sensitive wipers, full complement of airbags, full electrics, sliding rear seats (meaning the boot can be made about as big as that in a Focus), fog lights, alloys etc etc.
The SX is more expensive second hand than the 'S' trim (by £500-£1000) but I think its worth it (you'll get a fair bit of that back when you sell it) but the S doesnt have essentails for ...

...to watch out for: the Nissan dealership.
My car has just been in for the first service. There was Nissan Care Plan for new car annual services but it has to be taken when the car is < 3months old. I was not informed by the dealer at that time and now I missed it. Now the dealer has changed from CrossRoads (for some reason) to Sims at Kidlington. I asked the new dealer for help and guess what, they did not reply my phone cars. Even when I complained ... ...I fed up with the Nissan (NO) Customer services.
To add insult to injury, Sims gargage quoted me a staggering £300 for the first year service. For a Nissan Micra new car at 1st year service, this is unheard of. So I contacted another local Nissan repairer (a few years ago Humphris was a Nissan dealer, now only an authorised Nissan repairer) and got a quote of £200. I went there for the service to avoid being ripped off by the Sims gargage (Kidlington, ...

...is my opinion on the Nissan Micra. Okay when you hear Nissan Micra you conjure up the image of a car which quite a lot of elderly people drive, but then you ask yourself why? There must be something about the car, which is drawing people to buy the car. I will try to explain my view…

This model is the model, which is quite square not the new updated bubble version, which I ... ...to me it looks Gold and to everyone else that looks at it they see Gold. But the logbook that I have says it is beige! Either the car is a re-spray, the log book is wrong or the translation from the Japanese name for the colour is wrong? Either way it doesn’t really matter, it is a pretty unique sight!
Inside the car isn’t much better than the outside, the designers either didn’t know what colour they were using or there was a ...

You may have already read my review of my Citroen C3 (or my review of my previous Micra), but the Citroen had to go in for a spot of work and we got a new Micra as a loan car. This is how I thought the new model compared.
Firstly the shape - you either love it or hate it. It's an unusual looking car to say the least but I guess it is at least different to many of the identikit cars on the road.
We did consider a new Micra when we bought the Citroen ... ...- they wouldn't even return calls wanting to book a test drive and we'd had problems with maintenance on our previous Nissan.
Turning to the interior, this was the base "E" model so it came with a black interior which was a bit sombre - higher spec models have brighter interiors which is much nicer. There is a high specification though to say this is the entry level specification. Remote central locking, twin airbags, radio/CD with RDS, power steering, ...

Just sitting in the car (ours is an SX-version - one down from top of the range) you feel like it's built well. Nothing rattles, everything is solid and the trim is good quality, with no bare metal showing as is often the case in small hatchbacks. It is equipped with all the mod-cons you would expect from a larger saloon: digitally controlled aircon/climate control, automatic wipers, cd player, drive computer ...

...day found myself in the Nissan dealership for a look at the new Micra. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. Admittedly it does look a little odd but you either love it or hate it and I have been surprised by the number of people who seem to love it.
The build quality is top notch and it's built in England too, I believe Corsas are built in Spain and Fiestas in Germany??
My Micra is the SX model and comes with such luxury features ... ...winscreen wipers and a CD player with uprated speakers. It also has the usual fare of central locking, electric windows etc.
It is also the 1.2litre model which is a brand new engine, the 1.0 and 1.4 being carried over from the last model. It is quiet on the motorway and around town, rides and handles well and is very economical.
All told I am very impressed with my Micra. I was at the showroom at 8am on the 1st March 2003 to get my car with the ...

Advantages: Small, reliable, good little runner Disadvantages: Looks
The Nissan Micra has and will be called an "Ugly" little car but I can personally say that this little beast is reliable to the consumer. Small it may be, but with great acceleration and great speed it can be the great wee runner you have been looking for. The handling capabilities of the Nissan Micra are from hard, especially with the light steering that it provides. One small but important aspect of the Micra that I thought was pretty dam annoying, ... ...wanted to say about the Nissan Micra is that apart from its general uglynessit is an excellent little car, it is a manual car with 5 gears and is quite comfortable, it has good air conditioning and so far no problems with the car have occured - it may not be cheap but if it is reliability you are aiming for then take a look at this car. ...

...has got the new shape nissan micra beacuse i think that they absolutley horrid. The old shape may have not been perfect but it aint as nasty as this. I personally do not like this car because it seems to me like a box with smooth edges.
