Advantages Advantages A fabulous well-appointed small car

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None so far

My Nissan Micra is the 1.2L manual transmission 3 door SX model. It’s on the road price is quoted by Nissan £10195 (although I paid less than this for it). I have now owned the Micra for nine months, and I so far I am happy to recommend it to other Ciao members. The SX model has Climate control as standard, power steering, automatic rain sensing wipers, body coloured bumpers and mirrors, cd player, electric windows, alloy wheels, front airbags, ABS brakes, leather steering wheel with audio controls, and Nissan’s nifty keyless entry system (I’ll come back to that), friendly lighting (I’ll come ... more

Well when you think Nissan Micra anyone who knows the slightest about car manufacterers think reliability well.....NO our Micra has been driven by my family for a few yers now and it has proved to be a complete nightmare.Ours is a 1989 F regd Micra Mk 1 LS which is the lowest posible spec model.No-one in our family has enjoyed driving the Micra nor has anyone enjoyed forking an average £200 repair bill on a Mot!. Reliability The Nissan Micra Mk 1 dont keep up with Nissans excelent reliabilty record as evelything possble has gone wrong with our Micra. At 69,448 miles to be exact our engine blown ... more

Advantages Advantages Strong, capable engine; good space for four people

Disadvantages Disadvantages Gloomy interior, tin-can bodywork, poor paint finish, awful auto box

A recent incident involving my car, Sainsbury's car park and an unknown assailant led to the beloved piece of French fine art being off the road for several days worth of unbending and re-painting, giving me the opportunity spend some quality time with the Micra 1.2S (the Mark3 version, not that pictured on this site). I learned to drive in the early nineties in the original Micra, in the days when a Nissan was as reliable as clockwork but also known for swiss-cheese bodywork once the British climate had got to it. Today, the tinworm is extinct in Nissans but close the latest Micra's door and ... more

Advantages Advantages Utter reliability, running costs, easy to drive and park, sliding back seats, willing engine

Disadvantages Disadvantages headroom in rear, slightly odd looks!

This review is for a 1.2 SX, which the Sport edition replaced. The SX model was better equipped than the Sport eg it has climate control and the keyless entry and ignition. This 04 reg car belongs to my girlfriend and she has owned it for around 12 months. She was looking for one with the keyless entry which originally I thought was very gimmicky - although I now wish my car has it too. It makes getting in very easy if you have shopping or if its raining it takes a few seconds less to get in. In terms of equipment it has climate control, the keyless entry, parking sensors, rain sensitive ... more

Advantages Advantages Good visibility, safety features, power saving features, stylish

Disadvantages Disadvantages back room space lacking, 1.2L engine slow low gear acceleration

Bought this in 2006 from a local dealer to replace my older car which was a write-off after an accident. At that time it is on sale as a 'used' car (pre-registered as 56) in fact it is almost brand new - only 5 miles on the clock. The price is very good (RRP £8995) - £7495 and there were only 3 cars -blue, silver and dark grey. We went there on Saturday and the salesman refused to let me test any of these to keep the mileague low. Then on Sunday we went there early and met another salesman who allow us the test drive the blue one (7 miles on the clock, nearly 10 after the test drive. Then we ... more

I have been meaning to write an opinion on the car, which I drive for quite a while now but until now haven’t really got around to it. Finally I decided to do it, so here we go, this is my opinion on the Nissan Micra. Okay when you hear Nissan Micra you conjure up the image of a car which quite a lot of elderly people drive, but then you ask yourself why? There must be something about the car, which is drawing people to buy the car. I will try to explain my view… ** Looks ** My Micra, which is an H reg was not bought for looks. This model is the model, which is quite square not the ... more

Advantages Advantages Loads of flexible interior space, economical, nice to drive.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Really needs air-con option. And chews up brake disks......

Having downsized from a much larger car, I've been delighted with the Nissan which has far exceeded my expectations. I bought the 1.2 SE model, which is both very economical and nippy enough in traffic. Even in my 3 door version, it's possible to fit 5 people in reasonable comfort. When slid down and folded forward the rear seats offer a massive storage area which is particularly helped by the extra hight line of the roof. The offset split of the rear seats also means that it's possible to carry 4 passengers as well as carrying a standard sized folded down wheel chair - it doesn't look ... more

You may have already read my review of my Citroen C3 (or my review of my previous Micra), but the Citroen had to go in for a spot of work and we got a new Micra as a loan car. This is how I thought the new model compared. Firstly the shape - you either love it or hate it. It's an unusual looking car to say the least but I guess it is at least different to many of the identikit cars on the road. We did consider a new Micra when we bought the Citroen but ruled it out as the dealers were so poor - they wouldn't even return calls wanting to book a test drive and we'd had problems with maintenance ... more

Advantages Advantages Beautiful, full of character, cheap to run, easy to drive- a pleasure!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Girlie- not so good for men!! Can be expensive if not bought as a deal.

I love my little Micra! She's red, with 3 doors, and is 06 registered. I had brilliant service when I bought her (pre-registered) from the local nissan dealership, and the price was very good value- one of Nissan's regular deals. I love the character and style of this little car- the seats match the paint colour, and the white interior knobs and gear stick are taken from the figaro, adding an extra something. It is comfortable inside, with sliding front seats and plenty of space in the back, even for fully grown adults and tall teenagers! It is a girlie car I think. It comes with a handbag ... more

Advantages Advantages Feels more expensive than it is

Disadvantages Disadvantages Novel looks don't appear to all

-This review does not refer to the car pictured; rather the 1.2 Nissan Micra 2003 Model with revised bodywork. Performance Figures: Engine Size: 1240cc (5 Speed Manual) Fuel Consumption: 38.2(Urban) 55.4(Extra-Urban) 47.9(Combined) (mpg) Top Speed: 104mph 0-60mph: 13.6 s I have to say I didn't expect the micra to be such a pleasure to drive - they're not exactly renowned for being expensive, high quality or even particularly exciting (however they have always been reliable). With the updated model, however, Nissan have taken a new approach and it's very much for the better. Just sitting in the ... more
