This particular model is no longer available new but there are still thousands on the road in the UK & many up for sale in garage forecourts. I once worked at a Nissan dealership when this model was introduced & also run one for three years so I can speak from experience.
There have been Nissan Micras since 1983, the original model (K10 series) was a big seller in the UK & became a favourite with the ... ...stride never getting stuck.
Nissan upgraded the model around 1998 & tried to eliminate the 'cutey' look from the front end by giving the Micra bigger headlamps & a more aggressive grille, the rear lamps were changed & the dash up graded. They also introduced bigger engines.

...experience with a couple of Nissan Micras. Soon after passing my driving test I had a 1.0 litre 3 door Micra at my disposal and six months later a 1.3 litre 3 door. I should point out I had no choice in what car I was driving and to be honest I certainly would not have been driving a Micra had I any choice, but I didn’t mind broadening my horizons. My 1.0 litre was in a lurid shade of green called Apple Green and it certainly caught the eye ... ...it. I feel sorry for Nissan service centres, they don’t get much work apart from routine servicing especially with Micras. Nissan is up there with the very best when it comes to reliability and of course the Micra is British built. ...with is a nice new Nissan Micra 1.3. Only 700 miles on the clock and ready for some abuse.
On looking at the Micra, it looks like a joke car. Its more of a bubble than a car with rounded edges wherever you look.
The paintwork is a shiny Red with no obvious flaws. The colour coded bumpers make it a little bit too Red for my liking.
You have a read window wiper on this mini hatchback. Handy as monst little cars leave this off. Its nice to be able ... ...Something my plastic windowed Vitara prevents.
Mentioning the hatchback, the boot is reflective of the car's size. Small. Unless you intend to do a very small food shop or intending on dieting soon, this car is not for you. OK for mum on a school run if the kids are young but lousy for anything else.

I bought a 1.3 Nissan Micra SR about three years ago and am now a devoted Micra fan. This little car is fun to drive, nippy, has low insurance premiums and a high "awww" factor for cute, bubbly looks. It is perfect for driving around town, and is also more than capable of long motorway driving. A nice little "all-rounder". Even my boyfriend likes it!
The running costs of this car are low - low insurance, comes under the reduced tax rate, and because ... ...no complaints. The engine starts with no problems every time, even in winter. An ultra reliable car!
So if you are thinking of buying a new car, may I suggest that you run your eye over the Nissan Micra. It's well worth the look. I highly recommend them. ...

I bought my Micra, a three-door M-reg 1.3 LX, for £800 in August 2004. The price sounds amazing but this is because it had more than 150,000 miles on the clock. Everyone thought I must be mad to buy a car with such high mileage but I liked it and I'm SOOO glad I didn't listen to them.
This car has been brilliant. I always buy older cars and in the past I have always had a few problems along the way and thought it par for the course. But apart from ... ...and it's never once failed to start or let me down in any way. I have been told that Micras are capable of lasting for longer than some other cars because they have chains instead of timing belts, so I'm hoping to hold onto it for a lot longer yet, even though I do put in about 15,000 miles a year myself.
The Micra has the advantages of being a small car in that it's easy to manoevre and park but also has a decent size engine so you can motor along ...

I absolutely adore my Nissan Micra!!
I am a young driver, only passed my test a couple of weeks back and I snapped up my little blue micra from a local garage for just £595. 42K on the clock, full service history - only bad thing I thought about it was there is no power steering.
Since driving my micra I have discovered so many good things!! None power steering - not such a bad thing!! The tank, despite being a 1.3 and the petrol prices highering ... ...so easy to drive and I am in love with it!! I wouldn't change it, it's small and girly and a lovely drive!!
The drive is so smooth and light and it's just so safe and simple. All my friends want one now and I reccomened it to any first time driver, cheap, easy and reliable.
THE BEST FIRST CAR IN THE WORLD!! ...

I bought a SECOND hand nissan micra 1.3gx about a year ago and is completely satisfy with its performance. It has always been a faithful vehical that brings me anyway without problem. Even in the winter, it did not even sneeze a bit when I tried to start it. By sending it to the service centre according to the manufacturer recommendation, I have no mechanical problem so far. I brought it 3 years ago for the great price of £1300.
This car is fabtastic. I was 18 when i brought the car and friends laughed saying it was an old person's car but they are soooo wrong. This car is great. It is a really nippy and smooth ride. The engine size is just right for this car and will carry 4 adult passengers with ease.
I have been on holiday in this car and fit everything in and it will travel happily ... ...and the ceiling is high enough for tall people. The grey interior is very modern looking and i have added a cd player with ease.
I have a very active lifestyle and manage to fit nearly all of my gear in the boot. I also have a springer spaniel dog who travels comfortably in the boot.
The great thing about these cars is that if you are looking for a first car you can pick one of these up quite cheap and they have usually been very well looked after ...

...the car is simplicity itself.
Nissan offer an unrivalled 3 year warranty with the vehicle (although in my experience I have not had required the services of the excellent aftersales team)
Overall I would recommend the Nissan Micra to any prospective buyer.
As an owner of two Nissan vehicles (the other being a Nissan Primera) I think that I am qualified to whole heartedly recommend the Nissan brand as a reliable, economical and general excellent ...

...2½ year-old micra from the Nissan Sterling group. The car came with existing manufacturer warranty and additional 1 year warranty. Free MOT service and valet.
Pros:
(1) Low fuel consumption (abt 45mpg), cost me abt £25 for a full tank of petrol
(2) Low road tax (the lowest band)
(3) Manoeuvre is relatively easy though no power steering
(4) Nice sun-roof Cons:
(1) No airbags
(2) Gear change frequent (esp. 1st,2nd,3rd gear)

The 1.3 16v nissan engine is a blinding little engine, goes like stink yet it's very cheap to run.
The insurance is very good for a 1.3 so it would make a ideal first car for someone.
Our car is a GX model so it get the mod cons of a sunrof, allround central locking, a drivers airbag and a immobiliser.
Only thing really letting this car down is the fact it's not got power steering, a right pain in the bum compaired to one's with power steering.

...just bought a 1997 Nissan Micra 1.3 GX (WOW) what a car. It has done 15K from new, with service stamps through the log book. What a find. I have owned numerous cars in the years I have been driving, too mention a few from RS2000 droop snoot, Opel Manta GTE, RS1600i and a 2.8 Audi Quattro A4, I found this little car by word of mouth, and I would never have thought I would actually own a Nissan Micra, but what a car! Reminds me of a 1275 Mini my mate ... ...ago. I have spent 2 days cleaning the car outside, and she is like new, a few marks here and there, but who cares she is 11 years old. New suspension on order too drop her 50mm, new wheels with sticky tyres, Janspeed exhaust system and a induction kit. What a nice enjoyable car to drive and practical with it. Look out Corsa boy a Micra is out and prowling! Twin Cams eh! ...

...older type model of the nissan micra. It has a small engine size but it goes great i had a older micra when i was a learner and it is a good reliable car easy to work on when something goes wrong.
I passed my test in the first micra i had and its an ideal first car if you are uneasy about driving. The nissan micra is cheap on insurance and on tax when you drive this car you know where you are it it such a pleasure to drive.
After i passed my test ... ...to drive in then a nissan micra is for you.
The nissan micra i've got is second hand and an old car (H reg)but the body work is in excellant condition the engine is in great condition its a simple little engine.
You can't really fault a nissan micra i would recommend buying one to anyone they are really decent cars. ...
