A Sturdy beast my Sport is.

Advantages: Great value, great performance
Disadvantages: gearbox, CD player

...of you that dont know, Nissan is a major Japanese motoring manufacturer that actually produce some of their cars in the uk. The plant at Sunderland produces almeras, micras and my Primera written about here. My car. THE BODY ************ If you know the Primera shape you may not even know that there was a subtle body change in the model in 1999. some corners were smoothed out, some surfaces were "modernised" and on the whole, the vehicle was given ...
...wing mirrors appeared to be carried over. Being a driver of one for some time, I notice these changes greatly. The bonnet looks much more modern with a bulging radiator intake at the front, more trendy teardrop headlamps and a nicer looking back end. As with all Primeras and all Nissans, the bodywork is faultless. paintwork is immaculate and these cars simply do not rust. however, I have noticed that the bodywork steel is quite soft and prone to ...

It Cannot Reach The Primera Liga

Advantages: Superb engine and reliability
Disadvantages: Looks, what looks? Crap clutch

...had no fewer than three Nissan Micra's in our home for the past 10 years and you could say I've developed a nissanaphobia. So this did not bode well for this new pretender to the family car throne. This car is very Nissan and in my language that translates as "This is an ugly Japanese car trying to look European". Despite being styled in the UK, this car is just plain ugly. The previous one was non-committal looking, but the headlamps just look ...
...quality here. Another thing Nissan offers is reliability. This car is unlikely to break down. But the Primera Sport is not a class car. The sport tag is also misleading with just a few added novelties to attract buyers. It certainly isn't as sporty as the Honda Accord. So who will buy it? Judging by my weekend only the old man with a need for a hint of sportiness in his life and who doesn't want his car breaking down. It certainly isn't a bad car ...

...colour coding. But if only Nissan didn't fill their cars with acres of tiresome grey plastics they seem to get from the same suppliers as the Korean manufacturers. I purchased my metallic blue Primera privately in 2005 for £3500 with a full MOT and just 45000 miles on the clock. Immediately you can start to see that it's a lot of metal for your money. The value doesn't stop with the purchase price - servicing is cheap, insurance is reasonable, and ...
...they gave up, and the Nissan changer is £350. The only solution would have been a standard single player in the dashboard but this would have meant making the interior uglier that it already is. TOP TIP: Get one with a CD player already fitted or buy a Sport 'Plus' model. The driving position is excellent and the seats are about the best thing about the car - supportive, fully adjustable, and really well made. Try not to stare at the upholstery ...

Primera Division

Advantages: Performance, Reliability, Handling
Disadvantages: Economy, gear change, abs

I owned an 1995 Nissan Primera 2.0 SRi for about 18 months. Magazine opinion is that it is a worthy but extremely dull car. The vox pox would however not seem to agree with this view. Over the ownership period I received many compliments about what a nice car it was, from all sections of the community. I put this down to the fact that it was a light metallic blue, had alloys and front and rear spoilers and side skirts as standard. Dull colours don't ...
...it certainly lived up to expectations. Handling was always very composed and secure, and the car inspired great confidence when pressing on along a twisty road. If provoked on a wet roundabout it was possible to induce lift off oversteer, this was however very progressive and easy to correct. Performance The 2 litre 16 valve engine provides 128 bhp which provides adequate performance, although the fuel economy was nothing special; 32 mpg on a motorway ...

Bluebird Executive Charles Atlas of the Car World

Advantages: Ultra Reliable Comfortable Economical Small repair bills
Disadvantages: Getting a bit dated

...Well this car, the aging Nissan Bluebird, is the "Charles Atlas" of automobiles. I am a taxi-driver (and freelance journalist) in Dublin, Ireland. In my six years driving a cab, I have owned three of these wonderful vehicles. I acquired my first Bluebird by accident. My old Renault was in the shop (yet again) for more major surgery, and the garage gave me a Bluebird as a loan car. When word came back that the illness of my Renault was terminal, ...
...I wasn't cabbying at the time, but working in the sales and marketing world. Over the next year I covered the length and breadth of the country in this vehicle, and when I started up in the taxi business, I converted it into my taxi. This car gave me 3 years of wonderful service, and covered 375,000 miles on the original engine. The only work I needed to do (apart from regular services) was to replace the clutch at around 250,000 miles. Since ...

Nissan Primera 2.0 Sport

Advantages: Comfortable, safe car to drive with the power when needed.
Disadvantages: None spring to mind

I purchased my Nissan Primera 2.0 Sport in March, it was 6 months old W plate and had done 3,045 miles. Since then I have covered 11,000 miles averaging 38.5 mpg at a reasonable 70 mph. The car drives and handles very well. We use it at weekends - once a month for a trip to Newcastle-upon-tyne, from Sittingbourne and once a month to Bournemouth. So we do a minimum of 1,500 miles per month. It is comfortable and has enough things to change (seat position ...

First set lasted 50K miles (I forgot to change them and should have at 25K), but they were still firing well at that mileage, I spoke to a guy from Bosch and he said they usually recomend 25K. Tyres - fronts were changed at 55K rears at 78K - really wanted to crack 80K on the rear, but did not manage it. Recently, tyre ...

Nissan Primera GT

Advantages: Cheap, Reliable, Spacious, Handlling, Well Spec'd
Disadvantages: Clutch, Driveshafts - wot to buy next !

On my second Nissan Primera GT - 5dr. Very cheap to buy and run. Driven hard and still 34mpg - not bad for 2.0l engine with 150bhp. Sytling OK if kept clean. Interior has everything and easy to fit DIN MP3 head unit. Great space, comfortable and excellent ride. Handling good but longish wheelbase can mean a bit tail happy. Primera 2.0 GT - Wow

Advantages: Performance, handling, comfort, service costs.
Disadvantages: resale value, small powerband (GT model only).

The Primera GT has to be my favorit car out of all that I have owned, it is very comfortable, quick, handles very well and has had excelent safety ratings. I bought my 1997 Primera GT in January 1998 after deciding to change my Primera 1.6 for something newer. I was already aware of the Primera’s excellent ride and handling, but wanted a bit more power, and that’s exactly what you get with the GT. Having driven Mondeos, Vecrtas, Passats ...
...better drivers car of the bunch. Shortly after buy the car I travelled down to South of France, covering the 800 miles journey over night in one go, and not feeling one ache or pain at the end. Performance is another area I feel it excels, although it has a relatively small power band (4000-7000rpm), when it is within these revs it really does fly, and give safe over taking power. It may not look as modern or stylish as some rivals, but if you ...

Nissan Primera 2.0 SGX

Advantages: Reliable, secure, Well made, Has all the extras a top of the range car has
Disadvantages: Doesn't have the wow facor

...It is a shame Nissan don't give it the "star quality" look to match. Also the new look Nissan Primera resembles a tank and the display has been moved from behind the wheel to the centre of the dash board. In my opinion it is a very bad design and quite ugly. However, on a test drive the car felt exactly the same to drive as my old one and ran just as well. I wouldn't buy the latest model though, I'm going to wait until they (hopefully) improve the ...

Man! I feel like a Nissan...

Advantages: Good looks, tight engine, firm suspension
Disadvantages: Less exciting dashboard

Four years ago I purchased a phase 3 eGT and life's never been the same! The phase 3 eGT's were built between 1995 and 1996 before being replaced by the newer shape GT. They benefit from full leather interior, twin airbags, fully colour coded sideskirts, front fairing and rear spoiler and four channel ABS. They are a really beautiful looking car and drive like a Fomula 1. The engine sound is exciting, engaging and, to be blunt, slightly raucous. ...

You can safely pitch it into a bend, comfortable in the knowledge it'll stick like Bostik to a carpet tile, and it's very forgiving too. You get rattles and backache but I wouldn't have it any other way. These cars are blinding!!! ...

A woman's view here so don't expect me to delve into the intricacies of electronics or engine revs etc. We bought this car in 1999 when it had done 36,000 miles it has now done 63,000. We own a carvan and it tows it no trouble. We have taken it to France and back 4 times with the van. There is ample room in the hatch back with the seats down for all accompanying camping gear we take with us. i.e. awning, chairs, barbecue, bags of clothes and food ...
