*Due to some unanswered questions on the packaging, I e-mailed Nivea, and discovered that there is no ‘Sun Protection Factor’ for this particular product, only on the ‘Lip Care Sun’ version, which has a SPF of 25. ‘There is no age limit advisable for use’ though I think it’s probably prudent to supervise the very young.

Nivea Essential Lip Balm

I, like many other millions of people suffer from dry, chapped lips at certain times of the year, this is usually caused by weather changes, and licking your lips when they are dry causes them to become cracked.
This is a balm which I use on a more or less daily basis. I use this both in winter and in summer months, and all in between.
It provides your lips with a very soft feeling without feeling ... ...lid is blue and has Nivea Lip care essential written around it. The Smell

It smells lovely! It is very similar to vanilla, This is not a strong smell but very subtle and is not at all overpowering as you can sometimes get with scented balms.

...of the ones in the Nivea range, they sell all different ones which I have also tried such as the Pearl and Shine, rose, strawberry, etc. I picked it up for around £1.47 in Sainsburys, which isn't expensive for lip balm, but is by no means the cheapest I have ever tried!
This is the essential one which is the one with the blue lid. It looks just the same as many other Nivea lip balms with the white twist up, twist down base. It claims to soothe and ... ...that it definitley wasn't value for money. I won't be buying this again, shame really as most other Nivea products are quite good!
Overall nice thing to have in your handbag as a last resort, but definitley not the best!

...the bottom, as with all Nivea lipbalms and the colour coded lid, this one just happens to be bright blue, so it's really easy to spot when i'm delving into my bag, and seeing as the whole thing must be about 7cm in length it can fit into your pockets as well.
I find it really easy to apply, it isn't sticky and doesn't create a mess. Whereas with the lipbalms you get in the pots or the squirty tubes, i find that i tend to either get it underneath ... ...container too hard and getting far too much out.
It also has a fairly nuetral flavour, and as it is not specifically strawberry flavour, for example, it can be used by a wider range of people. Infact i would say it could be used by most age groups, and not just by girls either!!
It doesn't give any colour to your lips, so if you accidently put too much on it will only give your lips a slight sheen, and not a bright pink tint, or icy looking lips ...

As I suffer from dry lips frequently I am always trying new lipbalms to see which one worked. My fiance actually picked this one up for me from the supermarket as I'd run out. It costs somewhere between £1-2, I'm sorry I can't remember exactly.
The stick is similar to Nivea's other lipbalms. It's a fairy chunky item and feels like it's good quality. It is a dark blue - as you can see in the picture. The cardboard packaging the tube comes in says ... ...often find lip balm can wear off far to quickly. The product is labelled as preservative free, but I didn't realise they put preservative in lipbalm anyway. It also claims that usage will result in "soft, smooth and healthy looking lips". So...what did I think of it?
Well, the product didn't smell yucky as some lipbalms do. And it certainly lasted longer on my lips than others I have tried. After applying it my lips did indeed feel soft and smooth, ...

...easier to use a stick.This nivea lip balm is what it says, a balm, its not sticky, makes your lips feel soft. The rose one is particularly nice, has a nice smell to it, without being too much. It doesnt break off either which i have experienced with other leading brands. This is a product i bought from Asda when my lips where really dry n 'crispy.' Soon after i started using it i noticed that my lips where getting better and softer. I use it all the time (well at least once a day) and my lips have continued to be soft. It lasts ages! There is around 12m in the tube. I would defiantly recommend it to everyone. It is 99p from Asda but i guess it could be more or less from other places. So go and get some if your lips ...
