Since we have just been on holiday, and in a shock fashion had to use sun cream as the sun was out every day, I thought it would be a good time to review the cream that I used on the kids. The Bottle -------------- The bottle is blue plastic with a yellow flip lid, which is flat so when you are nearing the end you can stand it upside down to try and get the last bits out! It contains 200ml of sun cream and has all the instructions on the back. It recommends you apply the cream (which is factor 50) before going into the sun and then again 20-30 minutes after, and any time after being in water ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be expensive if bought singularly

Since summer is upon us (she says looking out the window at torrential rain in May!), I thought it would time to review some seasonal products, and why not make it a baby product! I had my son last March, and when the summer came around I wanted only the best things for him, which is why I turned to Nivea Sun Creams. My mum had used them on my brother and I when we went abroad and we never got burnt so for me, that was a great advert. So I strolled into my local chemist and headed straight for the sun creams. To be honest, I was totally shocked at the price of the stuff! I realise that it is ... more

working in a nursery i see lots of different products come through the doors and personally i feel that this product is one of the best on the market along with many other people with in the nursery. the cream comes in various factors ranging from 30 to 50+ and is very easy to rub in and absorbs into the skin quickly no more walking round like white ghosts! or feeling all greasy and sticky. the creams are all water resistant so great for all those children that love to spend hours in the swimming pool or just getting wet the cream has a plaesent smell which reminds every one who come into ... more

Advantages Advantages Quickly absorbed, fragrance free

Disadvantages Disadvantages Badly affected daughters eyes

Last year we took our 18 mth old daughter to Florida on holiday, knowing that it was most likely going to be very hot I wanted to make sure that i picked a cream with the highest SPF possible (this one is 50+), and one suitable for sensitive skin (again which this one is) due to it being fragrance and colourant free. I found it very easy to apply and it was quickly absorbed, ideal as the last thing you want is a slippery baby in the pool, and on the subject of the pool it also states on the bottle that it is very water resistant. The only downside of this product which i have to mention is the ... more

Advantages Advantages High SPF, Good for sensitive skin, good water resistance

Disadvantages Disadvantages Do not expose to high temperatures - keep in coolbag!

I have 2 children, my youngest is just 5 months old and I was worried about putting creams and lotions on his sensitive, irritable skin. I found this product at the local chemist and I would not change it! My daughter loves to swim and just yesterday at the beach she was in and out of the water and the cream stayed well in place. The cream is really easy to use and rubs into the skin well. I also have extremely sensitive skin and I found absolutely no irritation. The only problem I found is that you do have to keep this cream cool as it will sort of melt in the warm, it goes a bit runny. I ... more

i have 3 children all under the age of 5 and until recently lived on the island of corfu which can get VERY hot during the summer months. i decided to use nivea sun cream as i use nivea moisturising cream myself and have done for years. i went to buy the sun lotion and discovered they do creams especially for children. now, i can really only rate the lotion with spf 50+ as this is the only one i have used (appart from a very brief try of the spray lotion which i personally didnt like) my children were out swimming in peak summer months, at peak times and never once even coloured. i do reapply ... more

Advantages Advantages easy to apply, excellent for sensitive skin, no white marks

Disadvantages Disadvantages no child lock on bottle

my daughter is now 7moths old and since we have a very long and hot summer this year i decided not to just cover her up under a pile of blankets to hide her from the sun but go and by some lotion, after i tested a few products i found that nivea baby sun lotion 50+ is very easy to apply and leaves no marks on the body...it protects her and she can enjoy the sun to the full, as i am suffering from exzema and have very sensitve skin i am extra carful in my choices. The only downside i found is the lid as my 2 year old nephew managed to grab the bottle and apply the lotion all over his body ... more
