Advantages Advantages Small, light, compact, easy to use, flashlight

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too fiddly for some and not for gadget lovers

My employer has at last seen fit to issue me with a mobile phone. I asked for one years ago, as I often have to make site visits to isolated places, but was turned down. At last, a Health & Safety Review recommended that all lone workers be issued with a mobile phone or radio. This is how I came to be excitedly ripping open the box to my new Nokia 1100, much to the envy of some of my colleagues who still have older, larger phones which were issued to them two or three years ago. My first thought was how small, light and compact the phone appeared - brilliant as I've only a small handbag and ... more

Advantages Advantages So simple to use, and cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not for those who love 'functions'

After my last phone came to a premature wet end (you really don't want to know what happened) I still had another six months before I was able to upgrade. Instead of opting to shell out loadsa money for a flash new phone, I bit the bullet and bought a Nokia 1100, after seeing it for sale for £18 on Amazon. Bargain! Yes it is just a phone! ---------------------------------- The 1100 is erm.. a phone. That's it. No built in organisers, no bluetooth or MP3, not even a camera! It does make and receives call and text messages though! But despite its basic options, I have grown to love it. The look ... more

Advantages Advantages it's easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages no camera, no blue tooth, no MP3 player... etc, etc,

This is a great phone… if you just want a phone. It has no fancy gizmos, no pictures, and no music. It makes phone calls and sends texts, but that's about it. To look at, it's a pretty standard Nokia. It can have a variety of coloured covers (including blue, pink, red, green and yellow) but mine is the boring grey and black one. This phone is pretty small, at only 106mm x 46mm x 20mm, and weighing 86g. The front of the phone has a small (black and white) screen with the standard phone keys underneath. There is a button with a red dot, to turn the phone on and off, a big "menu" key in the ... more

    Advantages Advantages Small, lightweight, stylish

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Fiddly

I'm not sure why, but whenever I first seen these phones, I was attracted to them. Also the fact that I'm not bothered about cameras & mp3 players etc on my phones and this was a relatively basic one was another plus point for me. Whenever the new upgraded phones arrived in work, I was very surprised to find they were these nokia 1100's, and took the opportunity to find out more about these phones. They are very small phones, aprox 10cm by 4.5 cm and at their thickest point it's about 2cm thick, so ideal for blokes who carry their phones around in their pockets, although if you're female and ... more

Advantages Advantages Simple, no color screen, no camera, fairly water proof and cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages Fiddly when searching the phone book

4 years ago when I got my first mobile phone was a Nokia 3330 it was good, it had a great battery. However it was a brick and I quickly came to hate it. So I bought a second hand Nokia 8210 wich was tine and a fair battery, however like most 8210's the screen went bye-bye. So I used my fathers old Nokia 6210 for some time, it was amazing, however I sadly had to give it back when he asked for it. So I started to hunt again for a mobile phone. These were my requirements: NO color screen, NO camera, NO flip-phone, NO extra pointless stuff that nobody needs. A phone is a phone and nothing more. I ... more

Advantages Advantages Simple good flashlight does its job

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not enough gadgets no cameras etc

Being the kind of person i am i have managed to get through quite a few phones. This is my first Nokia phone i was always weary of this brand but the 1100 has changed my mind. Why? Well where do i start, It's lightweight and fits nicely in a handbag. Not as small as a lot of modern designs but convinent enough to fit nicely in phone pockets in bag easliy. But of course you cant just view a phone on its size. The buttons are easy to use not too close together and great for text messaging they are light on your fingers and dont make them hurt. i know this osunds silly but for an avid text ... more

Advantages Advantages Small size, not very costly, easy to use, battery time is better

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not colored screen, monophonic ring tones

My brother was using an old styled set of Siemens now he wanted to change his set. Being an older brother I suggested him to buy Nokia 1100. because of its best price and good working. i spent 35 pounds for it. There are many reasons why I choose 1100 so let me tell you all. = OUTLOOK = The set has a unique outlook first of all its buttons will attract you. They are in a totally different style. All the keypad is a sheet that covers all the space of buttons. It is very soft and stylish. A great thing is that it has only 3 extra buttons excluding numeric keys that are "select button", "c ... more

I used to have a top-of-the range Samsung T100 which cost a lot of money, but sadly as with most modern mobiles it broke within the first 2 years. But this mobile is different! When out looking for a cheaper replacement, I for some reason found myself in Boots (which is a place I don't usually find myself in), and when at the mobile phone area, a small, compact and nice-looking phone caught my eye - the Nokia 1100! Fair enough it does not have a built-in, top-of-range camera or it does not enable WAP, but what do you expect for a reasonable £59.99?! I searched through the menu and saw it had ... more

Advantages Advantages Small, Lightweight, inbuilt torch, Nokia Brand name

Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite basic for "today's" phones

The story goes - my first phone was a trium geo, very basic phone for nowadays but it always worked and i always liked it, next i upgraded to a Nokia 3310 and again was impressed by its quality, unfortunatly this phone was stood on by moi and so ceased to work anymore. i then decided i quite liked the look of the sony ericson T68i. i wont go into detail on this phone but the main function, calling and texting, worked only 50% of the time so after a lot of phone calls i managed to get my phone changed to a Nokia 3330 and again found it to be good quality quite hard wearing phone. until that was ... more

I bought this phone just before Christmas time, for £25 from the Orange shop with £5 of calling credit and, of course, an Orange Pay as you talk SIM card. It accepted my old Orange pay as you talk SIM from my previous phone without any problems, but I don't think it would accept cards from other operators. In the last few years I've always complained that vodafone have excellent software in their phones, but they need to employ an aesthetic designer because every other mobile phone company on the planet makes prettier phones - even if they don't work as well. In this case, I think they've done ... more
