Advantages Advantages Great, easy to use entry level phone for emergency, short term or overseas use

Disadvantages Disadvantages No fancy technology like a camera or a music player

When I worked in Mexico, the language school employing me gave me, and all the other teachers, a phone so they could harangue us with calls day and night. This was the phone they gave us, probably because it was the cheapest, most basic model they could find. I gave mine back when I left, but my mother subsequently bought the same model in Ecuador, and brought it home with her. I then pinched that one to bring to Colombia, assuming it would work well with a local SIM, and it does. It's also the phone a lot of my friends had in Sierra Leone. So just what is it that makes this phone so appealing ... more

This is another user-friendly and robust offering from Nokia that is likely to be ranged as both a contract and PAYT handset on most mobile networks. It is a dependable device with little complexity that can often cause software glitches on fancier devices when they are launched by the manufacturers. The seamless keypad also protects the device from dust. It is a quad-band device which means it can be used world wide (exluding Japan) meaning great value for money as you will need no other devices. It is a wondefully simple device with no frivalities and for those of you that want a phone to be ... more

Advantages Advantages It has a torch and is a phone

Disadvantages Disadvantages Ugly as sin, Grey, Has alzheiners

**THE LOOK** The Nokia 1208 is not the greatest looking phone on the market. Its not surprising as its has clearly been designed by soemone who lacks any immagination, who most likely lives alone. The phone has a truely blightful two-tone cover, although both tones are grey. It is as if it were designed int he mid-80's and Nokia thought it would look retro...they were mistaken. The phone feels so light and cheap it should be feeled with sweets. So summing up its overall look, i'd conclude: its crap. **THE PRICE** I personally bought my 1208 as it was the cheapest phone in TESCOs, and I ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages predictive text dictionary quite poor. lack of bluetooth a problem.

After losing my old slightly more high tech phone i decided to buy a cheap and cheerful phone out of the supermarket to tide me over for a few weeks until i raised the funds to buy something better. That was nearly 6 months ago and i am still using this phone, simply because it works perfectly well as a mobile phone. It has all the standard features that are expected of any mobile ( alarm clock, backlit colour screen, handsfree etc.) plus several additions which make it a very practical option, namely it is splashproof, dustproof, drunken-nights-out proof and has a very handy flashlight in the ... more

Advantages Advantages Simple, user-friendly, durable, reliabe, good sound quality.

Disadvantages Disadvantages None of the latest features

If you're not looking for fancy-ass features like a camera, bluetooth, picture messaging, mass storage, the latest tones, maps, and an mp3 player, and you want your phone to make calls and send texts, this is for you. It is incredibly user friendly, (an excellent phone for the older generation) has 4 fairly addictive but simple games, and is very reliable and durable. As something of a luddite in regard to mobile technology, I consider this the best phone I have ever owned, with its fantastically long battery life, great sound quality and highly simplistic functions. The ringtones are largely ... more

Nokia 1208 Review I recentley brought the Nokia 1208 mobile phone on pay as you go format. Now I managed to purchase this phone for just £5 with a £5 top up card for credit. Very resonable sounding phone, huh? And this phone has been sold at that price as well as other nearly as cheap prices online-its one of the cheapest phones I have come across on the internet. But the phone could be really cheap but does it work good for that price, is it truley good value for money? Well, I think so for sure. The mobile is a small and compact design (I have it in black, but I have seen it sold in a red ... more

I am writing this review on behalf of my dad (he lives 300 miles away) who bought this mobile as an emergency when BT cut him off 5 days earlier than requested prior to moving house!! (But THAT'S another story!!!) He purchased the Nokia 1208 from Tesco Mobile on Pay as You Go, for £17.97. It was good deal, if you top up by £15 they will triple it to £45. Well done Tesco. Anyway back to the phone review, it has the following 'features' - Screen 65k Colour CSTN Screen (96 x 68 Pixels) Large Digital Clock Wallpaper, Animated Screensavers, Jumbo Font Dual Band (GSM 900 & GSM 1800) 4 Mbytes Memory ... more
