Advantages: Very easy to use, Cheap, Changable phone cover Disadvantages: doesn't have a lot of modern features such as bluetooth, USb connection, infared etc
The Nokia 1600 is one of the basic mobiles you would want to own if you can't be bothered to keep up with technology. The phone was introduced to the world in the year 2005 which is a few years back as I bought the mobile in the year 2007. I only bought the Nokia 1600 mobile for the reason that I dropped my Nokia 6230i in juice; therefore it stopped working which was rather sad.
I had to look for a mobile quickly though I already had my Sony Eriksson ... ...and very slim unlike other Nokia mobiles e.g. Nokia 3410, 3510 etc. --------Modern Features Which The Nokia 1600 Does Not Have--------
Because the mobile is meant to be basic, it means that it doesn't have lots of new modern features like other mobiles out there. It does not have:
Bluetooth --- you can not connect to other mobiles or computers wirelessly, in reasons that you might want to put some data on your computer or connect to other mobiles ...

...and he bought me the Nokia 1600 into work the next day.
The Nokia 1600 is a very basic phone however would be ideal for someone just starting to use a mobile phone. I find that the technology these days is a little too advanced for the likes of our dear old grandma's, mine has my last Sharp phone that I had and ideally she would be better off with the likes of the Nokia 1600.
Not extremely stylish to look at and something I wouldn't choose as my ... ...the reverse it has the Nokia and also the orange logo to establish which network it is meant for. On the front, it is just a basic key pad with average size buttons, not too small like some phones which I find hard to use because I have long nails. With all the numbers and letters the same which is basically generic these day, a button for scrolling throughout menu's and the dial and hang up buttons on it.
This particular phone does have a colour ...

It weighs 80grams it is 104x45x17mm in length width and depth. It is easy to use and has a simple menu and easy navigation through the functions. (messages call features etc)
It has a colour screen with 65,536 colours with animated screensavers and three games. If you are a mobile phone fanatic you can compose your own ringtones, but I am not able to do that, it is explained in the manual.

Among the added features are the usual things like cash converter, calculator, countdown timer and stopwatch

Advantages: Good battery life, loudspeaker handsfree, handy conversions, pleasant ringtones Disadvantages: If you want camera, MP3, Internet then look elsewhere
I bought this phone for myself a little while ago as I wanted good battery life but didn't want to pay extra for a camera when I already have a 6mp digital and an Olympus film SLR.
So far have not been disappointed - only charging it once a week.
Very useful features include the profiles, which can be timed - set a profile on until a certain time when it reverts to previous profile. I use this to set a "Night" profile to give a better "waking experience" ... ...day. The profiles allow different colour schemes to make it easy to see which profile is set.
The timed feature would be much better if the times could be set on/off instead of remembering to set it each night.
The keypad is quite good, although it may be my stumpy fingers which cause occasional key bounce/repeat - in the menus, when texting I sometimes get "ajajaj" when selecting a "c". Sometimes this goes well in the text, so I leave it in!

If you're looking for a basic phone for making calls and sending texts then this is it. It doesn't have any fancy features but if all you want to use it for is to talk then it's perfect for the job.
The battery lasts for about 5 days and that's even using it quite a lot. It always has good reception and sound quality although the ringtones are extremely boring.
I have a nasty habit of dropping phones and this phone is great as there's not a mark ... ...can remember. This phone is so cheap, you really can't go wrong.
I would recommend it to anyone who wants a basic phone for talking and texting, who doesn't want any of the mod cons like a camera, video, bluetooth etc. Great value for money and the speaking clock is a novelty. ...

Advantages: Cheap, Awesome battery life, enough features. Disadvantages: Plasticky feel to Buttons, Small Screen.
After having a feature packed Motorola e398 for a while, i decided to opt for a cheap, high battery life phone; as i have an MP3 player, and a digital camera.
I was very impressed with the 1600. I charged it twice in a month, and the features are perfect for me. You can customise your quick access menu to the items you use most- making things such as calculator, alarm clock and stopwatch easy to access; which on most phones they aren't.
Of course ... ...most people have basic ring tones, or have theior phoen on vibrate, so these are unneccessary extras. The phone does have a few extras- games, stopwatch, converter and reminders, enough for the average phone user.
When i bought teh phone, people asked me why i bought it- and simply, i said- "Because i don't care if i lose it!". And it's true. The phone is so cheap- i paid £40 and got £30 credit with it- which was very advantageous. Finally, its ...

Advantages: Small, Light, Easy to navigate, cheap and quite attractive Disadvantages: A little flimsy feeling, lacks advanced features.
Nokia know then they're onto a winner and this phone follows in the footsteps of the 3210, 3310 and iconic 7110 as an affordable, attractive unit which even a one-armed, under-trained chimp could use. The tried-and-tested Nokia operating system remains largely unchanged, with the exception of a pretty new layout. Easy and swift to use, it is an ideal phone for someone who has better things to worry about than whether their phone is the best in the ... ...and does text messages! If I wanted something that did more than that, I'd get a laptop. But if you want a phone with a camera, wap access and other glittery things, you had better not buy one of these. It is a light, aesthetically pleasing object with good, large buttons that allow for quick, accurate dialling and texting and it has a fairly large, colour display that shows data well and lets you personalise the screen with a plethora of embarassing ...

NOKIA 1600
I purchased this phone in November 2005 and its still going strong !
It’s not the smallest phone on the market but certainly aint the biggest either .
It has all the usual functions –
Sms , pictures , calculator , calendar , reminders , games , alarm etc Colour screen It also has a handy function to put all your favourite functions on a one button menu which is a time saver . There is plenty of tones included (34) including some very ... ...to do with my old Nokia .
It doesn’t have MP3 or camera but most people have separate devices for these functions anyway .
Its very robust as mine has been dropped countless times - still no cracked screen I would say this phone would be ideal for people who just want a phone for what a phone should do – If you want all the latest gizmos and gadgets however this phone is not for you ! ...

I have had this phone for over 1 and half years now. i have never had nay problems with it, i have probably smashed it, thrown out of the window and also water damage..but still nothing has ever gone wrong. this is probably due to the fact that it is only a simple mobile phone...fit for its actual purpose (to make and receive calls and texts). it has a color screen, loudspeaker, and a few good classic games. this phone in my opinion is very very good and Nokia have done a very good job on it. simple and user friendly to anyone! ...

Quick review of Nokia 1600
The Nokia 1600 is an entry level phone and is useful for a first mobile phone or people who are just wanting the basics. It's a smart looking phone and is very lightweight. The keypad is quite easy to use and has a nice 4 way scrool key. The nokia 1600 is very similar to the nokia 1110, it has a colour screen but lacks the changeable cover of the 1110. Battery life is excellent but it lacks in storage for things such as phone numbers and sms. Overall a good basic phone. ...

If you need a solid, no-fuss phone, then this is probably one of the better options. What it lack in extra features (camera, mp3 etc), it makes up for with massive battery life (i charge it about once a week and just leave it on 24/7) and durability - i've lost count the number of times it's been dropped, but it keeps working!
The features it does have work well, the screen's bright and quite easy to read, the audio quality is about as good as it's ...
