Strong, reliable, sturdy

Advantages: A nice, strong, reliable and practical phone
Disadvantages: A little big and bulky, compared to others

This phone was bought for my step duaghter, who is 14 years old. Her father and i decided, that she could have one, after listening to a year of moaning, because we kept saying, she was too young. We didn't want to spend an absolute fortune on a first phone, but she wanted a Nokia. As far as i am aware, they no longer make this phone, due to all the new ones being mass produced. We had a bit of trouble getting our hands on one, but in the end we ...
...Compared to others, you might think it a little bulky, and a little heavier. Don't let this put you off. The keya are easily acsessible and nicely spaced out. This helps when text messaging, as i find on other phones i tend to ctach the wrong key. It doesn't happen with this one though. The Phones Features. *Phone book. This phone allows you to store upto 250 names and numbers. *Messages. This is for your text messages and for your voice mail messages. ...

...As you get the name nokia you get the main mobile phone company. I have already done a small op on the phone but I now want to do I big op. And this one is only about the 5110. Looks My nokia 5110 is quite nice looking phone. The dimensions are 150mm (h), 45mm (w), 27mm (l) and its 128mm(h without aerial). This worked out that the phone is around 180 cm3. This means that by today’s standard it is pretty big by today’s standard. It does ...

...think back to my old Nokia 5110, I do have quite a few happy memories! It was a cool phone at the time, and everyone had it, but now it’s gone out of fashion, it’s a bit of an embarrassment to be seen with it! I first got my Nokia 5110 in December 2001. It was third hand, and had certainly been round the block before it reached me. I had, had a Motorola phone for two years, and when I received the Nokia 5110 it wasn’t even being ...
...that strikes you about the Nokia 5110 is that it’s pretty large in shape! Rather than having the no aerial, and having the sleek, small look, it resembles a brick with a gigantic aerial sticking out of the top of it! It certainly shouldn’t be left by a building site! A good thing about it is, although it’s an old phone, it has changeable covers. It was the first ever phone to have this, and you can still buy covers for it from ...

IVE GOT A BIG BRICK

Advantages: It does exactly what it says on the box
Disadvantages: Hardly state of the art - would embarrass my son

...So, where was I, this Nokia phone of mine. It’s not quite a ‘brick’ (but at least I can boast that I've got a BIG BRICK, can't I?), but it is certainly not the tiny sylth-like things that many of you have. In fact I can guarantee that if I had my son’s phone, I would have lost it by now. It would be down the back of a chair, under the bed, inside the lining of a jacket or somewhere. So there are advantages of having a phone that is not state-of-the-art ...

Used to be good but now move on

Advantages: Robust and hard to damage
Disadvantages: Heavy, Poor features and well.. need I go on much more?

This phone was superb when it came out, a real innovation in the phone market. I paid £89 for it back then and have since used it continuously. The phone now retails at approx £30 and so is certainly a cheap option for pay as you go consumers, but the 'freebie' phones offered on contract deals have meant this phone has fallen from that market. And with good reason. The one game you get on the phone is snakes, a very basic version at that. Then you ...
...(variable on when you bought it) compared to the amazing 300 or so characters you can get on other phones today. Then we come to ringtones. This phone has a dire selection and with no ability to download new tunes (a big thing for teenagers today) it falls a long way behind. Despite these drawbacks, it does still do the job for which it is intended, and its as sturdy and robust as it is heavy. The lack of extended options makes the phone easy to ...

What about the forgotten models...

Advantages: See Opinion
Disadvantages: See Opinion

...The likes of the Nokia 5110 just does not compete with the likes of the Nokia 3330 at all. I do not believe that people should be so bothered about how old or rubbish other peoples mobiles may be. I own a Nokia 5110, a model about 4 years out of date, and I find it perfect for every aspect of communication. This is why I am writing an opinion on this very handset! The Nokia 5110 was introduced back in around 1997/8 by Nokia - the most popular communication ...

Simply Mobile

Advantages: Simple to use, tons of fun covers available
Disadvantages: Heavy for its size, problems with screen

UPDATE: Now that I've had this model phone for some time, I'd like to add the following information. 1. The screen - this is the weakest part of this phone. It tends to go bad quickly, and if you don't fix it the moment you see it start to fade on you, it might be unfixable. 2. The battery tends to get loose after regular use. Since I have a handset for this phone in my car, it seems that the constant placement and removal must wear something down. ...
...slips around a bit and sometimes even disconnects the phone. This could also be because I've dropped this phone many times. Considering this, I'd still say that its a pretty durable phone - especially if its owned by someone less klutzy than me! 3. Its still an inexpensive phone, and still easy to use and I still haven't found any other phone that matches its simplicity. Other than this, my original op needs no other alterations. (But in truth, ...

Advantages: Very Durable.
Disadvantages: A bit old fashioned.

...morning I found my old Nokia 5110 under my bed and looked at it. The only use for it is probably to write an op about it then sell it so that is what I intend to do. -LOOKS- The first thing I notice about this phone is its shape it looks quite nice and slender it also has a aerial which lets it down a bit and gives it that old fashioned look but still it ok. When you buy it you notice that it only comes with one boring cover on the front either ...

The messages are very easy to write and has several different small symbols to choose from. There are many games and are all simple but fun. They are classic games such as snake and pairs and there are about 4 of them. ...

Disadvantages: A bit bulky, ring-tones are mostly god-awful.

...you hear came from a Nokia 5110 or similar. Nokia phones, in my opinion, are the best by far, and believe me I've owned a few different brands. You can't add or create your own ringtones, but there are more than 40 pre-programmed ones - most of which would cause great embarrassment if anyone ever called you, but there are several which you can live with, including a couple of standard telephone-style rings. The phone has it's own 'phone book' where ...
...Sadly, the names are limited to 14 characters, so you'll often have to abbreviate! The phone's LCD display is quite simple. It shows a battery meter, signal strength meter, network, time, and you can also set it up to display the STD code of whichever area you're in at the time, although I find that where I live, it tends to alternate between 01709 and 01226, since I'm on the borderline between Rotherham and Barnsley. One feature which I found ...

Sadly on this phone you cannot compose your own ring tone and the built in ones are not really that amazing. This phone is mostly available through “pay as you ...

...decided to review the old Nokia 5110? Because the 5110 was the first mobile phone I ever owned, so I will always have a strange affinity towards it, but because they are still so good. In terms of the size of a matchbox, its approximately 3 in length, just over 1 in width and 1 and a half deep. The weight is also quite heavy compared to modern ...

I have had this phone for about 3 months. I chose it because its buttons and screen were very easy to understand. It has been reliable ever since I bought it. It has a long standby time, changeable covers, funky ringtones, relatively cheap and quite light. It also has a large database for storing telephone numbers.
