As always, Nokia have hit the nail bang on the head in this department. The predictive text is very easy to use - use the * to cycle through the options for the combination of letters you have selected and # to toggle the predictive text on or off. If a word isnt recognised you can add it to the dictionary for the next time you want to use it. The buttons are nicely spread and easy to press making speed texting pretty easy. On the older Nokia phones the alarms are really loud and on some you can even set a ring tone as your alarm, but the phone I have works on polyphonic ring tones and they just arent as loud. Just in case it does wake you up and you want that extra few minutes you can always hit the snooze button!

There are two default galleries where you can store ring tones or images. There is a fair selection to choose from in both but ...

Advantages: Tiny, very light, superb battery stamina, very easy to use features. Disadvantages: Flimsy plastic cover, very expensive to repair.
I am a Nokia fan. For me a mobile phone is just that - a phone which I can carry about with me to speak to people whilst away from home or my desk at work. A mobile phone (for me) on the other hand is NOT a Gameboy, a hi-fi music system, TV or video camera. Grudgingly I can see a use for a digital still picture mode on a phone, after all you do not carry about a camera with you all the time, whereas most of us these days do not leave home without ... ...That is why I'm a Nokia fan.
My first Nokia was the brilliant (in its day) 5130, big by todays standards but it did exactly what I expected a phone to do and very little more. It is still in perfect working order today, seven years later, never cost me a penny in repairs, nor has the battery been replaced.
The main reason I replaced it with the still unique 7110, was that the newer phone had a slide cover over the keypad (I would never buy another ...

...... sorry :)
The Nokia 6100 is my current phone. Before I bought it, I knew exactly what features I required from a new phone. I was travelling to Canada, so I knew that I would require a triband phone. I knew that I wanted to access the net on my laptop, on the move via GPRS. The Nokia 6100 is capable of both of these, and was available on my preferred network (Orange).

The Nokia 6100 features an easy to navigate menu, as with other Nokias in this range. Once the menu is open, you are able to use the thumb button to scroll through the options, or to speed things up, the number pad buttons can be used as shortcuts. The menu is very clear, thanks to the chunky graphics and large text on the Nokia 6100's colour screen. The screen can display up to 8 lines of standard text.
Text messaging is very easy. ...

Advantages: Sleek Disadvantages: No built in camera, rubbish ring tones
...I was upgrading from a Nokia 3210, which I had loved, and travelled far with, but the battery had long since died, and it was time to move on. My emotional attachment to my old phone meant that I had some steep demands for any replacement. I feel that these were to some extent met in my Nokia 6100, and on the whole I am pleased with this phone.
Looks
This is a big factor with any mobile, and the slim, sleek appearance of this phone was a big draw ... ...everyone seemed to have the Nokia 3510, so I stayed well away from that one.
I don't have any sort of case for my phone, but it has done really well and has never got damaged, despite a fairly average amount of time being shoved in my bag (with keys) and the odd incident where I've dropped it... It's not exactly indestructable, but I would rate this as a reasonably hard-wearing phone.
Battery
As with any battery opperated product, it is important ...

The nokia 6100 is a small phone with many modern capabilities such as wap, gprs and inferred. Unfortunately it does not have a camera and but can receive pictures and sound media as long as it is polyphonic. As you can guess the ring tones have to be polyphonic and the ring tones that come with the phone are quite basic. ...that could replace the mighty Nokia 8310.
This time I was looking for a phone on contract rather than splashing out a load of money for a phone then having to pay for credit each week. Also i was a bit tight for money being a student and all so it had to be free. And I do admit it was a bit too much to pay three hundred pound for a phone but hey you cant take your money with you.
I saw a few that I liked and dismissed many more and finally decided ... ...also a good addition that nokia has always incorporated into there menu navigation is the ability to choose a menu by pressing a number that corresponds to that menu, if you know if of the top of your head that is. In my eyes the phone is also better looking than the 8310 but some people may disagree but it doesnt matter because this is my opinion. Sorry about that went a bit crazy. Advantages: Polyphonic ringtones, loudspeaker.... Disadvantages: None I have come across yet
Having had the Nokia 8310 for over a year, I was starting to get bored and fancied a change. I went into the Carphone Warehouse where my friends worked as this is the most reliable way for me to get an honest opinion how great a phone was. After looking at the huge range available, I was down to two phones which I couldn’t decide between, the Siemens SL55 and the Nokia 6100. I was leaning towards the Siemens when I was informed that they were ... ...little handbags! As with most Nokia phones, it has interchangeable fascias with the standard coming in blue, silver or beige. ...pining to return to the Nokia i know and love. There are some features in a Nokia that are so useful to me and i didn't realise that i used them so much until they weren't there anymore!
I chose the Nokia 6100 because it was sleek and slim and could fit into my pocket easily! ...the world of a new Nokia 6100, on the Vodafone network. I say this, as last December I moved house, and my Ericsson T68 on Orange became suddenly useless, as the reception was about as good as a very poor persons wedding. The Nokia 6100 was a replacement to my Samsung S300 (which my wonderful fiance decided to put in the washing machine). The S300 was a great phone with great ringtones & a high quality screen.
