Advantages: LOTS of Features Disadvantages: Size & Weight
...I have always gone with Nokia because I like the User Interface they provide. I have found with a lot of my mates’ phones, they often can’t find what they are looking for, especially if it is to do with altering fundamental phone settings. I have never had this problem with a Nokia.
After a little looking around I had narrowed my choice of new phone to either the Motorola V3 or the Nokia 6260. The reason I narrowed my choice to these phones is ... ... The reason I chose the Nokia in the end was simply familiarity and the fact that having used the V3, I knew that the buttons we really awkward.
So why is the 6260 so great?
Well the flip part of the phone is the first thing… not only does it flip but it twists!!! This seems somewhat superfluous until you realise that it makes it a lot easier to use the camera by twisting the screen so that it looks like a miniature digital camera. As well as ...

Advantages: VGA Camera and rotating screen – can take self portraits!, Big Memory, FM Radio, MP3 Player, Tri-Band, Video Disadvantages: Ugly looking, very big and bulky, no screen on outside, cheap looking
As a loyal Nokia user, the arrival of a Nokia flip phone was of great excitement to me. I purchased the Nokia 6260 online as I have done with my last few phones and eagerly awaited its arrival, boy was I disappointed! The phone looked very flashy online but when it arrived I can only describe it as one of the ugliest mobiles I have ever seen, particularly the outside shell. However, I am not going to abandon Nokia altogether, they have given me great phones in the past, and hopefully in time they will develop their flip phone from this somewhat ‘ugly duckling’ into a more trendy ‘beautiful swan’! ...

Advantages: 180 degree rotating screen, rs mmc slot, great battery, heaps of functions! Disadvantages: HUGE!, looks like a lunchbox, made from twigs and paper (or so it seems)
...section to begin on, as Nokia seemed to have let a lunch box manufacturer come up with its design. Its got a big bulky size and weight to it (Weight: 130 g, Dimensions: 102 x 49 x 23 mm, 109 cc). so yeah pretty big. & thats closed! When opened and placed next to your face you are soon dwarfed and very nearly engulfed, because I think this thing is big enough to contribute a gravitational pull. The colours it comes in too are quite attractve. A sleek silver or a very flash black finish, all with chrome button bits etc. Which brings me on to the buttons...again a little bit of annoyance to tel you the truth. Due to its potential of behaving as a PDA in "browse" ...

Durability
This phone certainly is very durable. I have had it now for about a year and apart from a few minor scratches it is still in impeccable condition. It has hard plastic casing protecting it as well as having the clamshell design protect the screen and keypad.
Styling This phones it to say the least somewhat bulky and weighing ...

...height and size of a Nokia 7610, and you get a concept of its size).
The upper portion of Nokia's first clamshell smartphone was decked with the usual Symbian S60 buttons, two soft keys, the 5 way directional buttons and the edit and symbian menu bottons. As mentioned earlier, the lower half has the "end" and "call" buttons as well as the numerical keypad, which occupied the top portion of the phones base. The other half is 'camouflaged' by a band ... ...novel and interesting aspect, as Nokia has not shied away from making unique (or controversial) designs, such as the 3650. The placement of the keys on the upper flip makes sense when you swivel the phone to Browse Mode, but the problem is on typing URLS using the number keypad, which requires you to undo Browse Mode and return to 'Work' mode, which is old fashioned open clamshell. ...saw it, the BRAND NEW nokia 6260, in black and gleaming from under the counter. the nokia 6260 is a nicely designed phone that has a screen that can be rotated 180 degrees and folded back.
it is practical in a lot of environments.
the black design looks a lot better than the silver one but it always has marks and fingure prints all over it when you have used it.
i got a silver one for a week as they didnt have the black one in stock and i had it for about 3 days then the phone just died off, so i returend it to the retailer ... ...have to travel to the nokia centre to get it done.
overall:
i bought the phone in the first place because i wanted a smart, reliable phone that i could use every day.
the menu of the phone could be improved.
overall i think that the phone is a good phone although their is a lot of room for improvement
thanks for all your comments and ratings ...

Advantages: has MP3 player, radio, is a smartphone, video, camera Disadvantages: a bit on the large side, and cant see whos calling you!
Ive ahd this phone for about a month or so now, and on the whole I'm pleased with it. The biggest attraction for me was that it ahd everything I wanted ina phone. I can listen to the radio wherever I am (and its pretty good quality sound too), I can take small videos of nights out, and I can download really cool themes onto it too.
The problem with the camera though is that it seems to take a second after you've pressed the button to actually take ... ...pic of the person moving away (thinking the photo had already been taken) and its really annoying!!!
Even so, the phone is brilliant cos of its calendar function. Its clearly set out and so I never forget to go anywhere now!
I haven't used the bluetooth facilities on it yet, but i'm sure its a good thing to have on a phone.
The buttons can be a bit awkward to press at times, cos they are on 2 different parts of the phone. And my biggest gripe ...

I long ago decided that O2 was the best network for me, offering 300 texts free on PAYG. I saw the 6260, fell in love and decided to switch onto O2 contract and get the phone for free. It costs me £19 a month, and I get 500 free sms and 50 free anytime/network minutes. The 6260 is quite a lot wider than my 3100, the buttons harder to pinpoint, but that's my big hands for you! The camera takes amazing photos, but isn't best placed, as its where I put my hands. But at least its fun trying! Advantages: Trendy looking rotating screen, lots of features Disadvantages: Bulky, heavy, unrealiable.
The Nokia 6260 is a clamshell phone with a range of interesting features, but most obviously its most notable feature is the rotating screen which can be rotated to a number of positions - open, closed, facing inwards and facing outwards. The only phones I've had are Nokia's, easy to use and realiable! I upgraded to this phone on-line, i should have waited to see it in a shop! It is much to large and a little cheap looking. Advantages: Fantastic Phone! Quick Charge,Decent Games, Fab Camera Disadvantages: Little Bulky, keys on top half of screen takes some getting used to
...my phone from my beloved Nokia 3200 they wanted to jack my bill up £20, so I began on to trawl through endless phone lists, reviews, magazines and internet sites.
Finally I found the Nokia 6260. My main credential was that I wanted a flip phone, with a camera and blue tooth and infrared so I could transfer from my Nokia 3200 to the phone that would come next, by which time I presume infrared to be extinct.
Still, having checked ciao and found some ... ...the phone on O2, and waited for its arrival.
My first thought as I opened that packaging was "Is the phone inside the brick?" but no, sadly I found it was the brick. A bulky thing which had no outside screen, only a pitiful light to say what was going on with the phone and irritating buttons on the top and bottom of the phone. AT this point I was thinking, "Where did I put that guarantee."
Oh how things change.

Advantages: Image, menu operation Disadvantages: Build quality, fiddly joystick, larger than anticipated
I purchased this phone in April 2005, after being seduced by the striking good looks on a website.
Unfortunately the images did not put the phone in context to anything else and I was completely surprised at the enormity of it when it actually arrived.

This is the first phone I've ever had on contract. I went for O2 because I spend about £25 a month (including insurance) and I get 450 off peak minutes to any network, 100 texts and 1mb of downloads.
My friend has a 6230 and the features are pretty similar if perhaps slightly improved. On the whole the functions are brilliant. The Camera is quite well placed to allow you to photograph or film yourself as well as others and has the feel of a tiny ... ...the phone.
The screen swivels 180 degrees so you can even close the phone with the screen facing up, very nice for browsing but it is rather annoying that most games require the use of the '1' button which means you need it open to play them.
You can transfer media files for free between phones by Bluetooth or infrared if you are within range. We've had fun playing with this.
